Hi Lia I want to let your audience know that this hair is so close to human hair. I have ringlet curled it with a wand curler and regular curler. I have straightened it with a flat iron and it was beautiful. The hair needs to be separated into small pieces and 4 knots with a tie off and this hair will be secure! It is heat resistant and similar to Dalvia hair!! Everyone should try this, I had ocean wave and it curled and straightened with perfection. I also tried Columbian curl and it was beautiful! Do not mousse this hair often and it can actually be gently brushed or combed with a wide tooth comb so it won't look unruly..

I feel every bit of these day 1 thoughts! I recently tried an Ocean Wave hair from... Lulu Tress I believe. The texture was super silky like this hair too. Came in a net. The slipping knots drove me NUTS! I couldn’t get my invisible part to work like usual AT ALL! And it was for a busy weekend. Luckily where I went the day I put it in I could hide with a Polo hat. But I also cut it out that night and put something else in the next morning. Definitely requires lots of knotting and closer braids!
I have this hair in now...only it's the Deep Wave Perm Peruvian by Janet Collection. This hair has been a challenge for me. It looks great and honestly I have worn it longer than any other crochet I've had up to date but it requires too much work. I have to detangle it 2-3 times a week. Then oil it. Then attempt to cut out the frizzy parts. After the 2nd week I just gave up on cutting. I normally keep it in a bun. However, this hair slips! Haven't lost one yet but still...who wants to secure every knot repeatedly? I've had it in almost 5 weeks and I can't wait to get back to my natural hair. I'm only making it last because I have an NBA basketball game to attend this weekend. :-)

LIA! The hair looks great on you for the first 2 days. But the frizz is not worth the frustration at all. I would have already taken it out by week 3. Too much frizz. Love your lipsticks though. SIlky hairs are an absolute nightmare for install and longevity.. I stopped using Velvet wave because of its silky texture. Great hair, but not worth the frustration of knotting 6-8 times. At that point, I might as well do a tree braid. That being said, I do think silkier hairs are great for longer styles. The weight of the hair itself gives natural weight to the knots. Totally going to try the Mousse. :-)

Love you Lia, but this hair looks horrible. Maybe it's because it's so frizzy and tangled. I think it's just a bit to silky which makes it harder to maintain. I like rougher textures like Harlem 125. I would love it if it tried the Freetress Remedy curl. I used that and it's bomb. After six weeks it still looked good and I shed a tear when I took it out lol.
Yes! Been wearing this hair since I tried it in May '18! Of course I only keep it in 4 a month, remove & get it reinstalled! It looks so natural!! It's the Boom!
Also, try the Vigaro mousse in the bottle with the red label. It's especially for curls and I love it on the crochet hair to detangle and reset the curls.
Synthetic hair doesn't get dry because it is plastic and doesn't have any moisture. The trick to curling and straightening synthetic futura hair (high heat resistant) with heat styling tools is that it only requires heat to become pliable, it has to remain in that shape until it cools, and once it's cool it is set until its heated again. Water will not change its shape like human hair and no products are necessary to achieve or maintain the pattern it is set in. Synthetic hair is created from chemicals and it is naturally in a bone straight state, so when you buy hair called ocean wave or Brazillian wave it was heat set into that pattern, likely with steam. So it is easy to re-set a curl or wave pattern with synthetic hair and it is a great way to revitalize a crochet style to make it last longer :-)
bought a Janet Collection Jerry Curl hair one pack, all 14 inch, it came in Natural Black, when I wash it, it turned burgundy. Today, I bought another pack, different type it's the Brazilian Bundle Hair, Naturally Plush, I got the natural brown, try to bleach it, and it wont bleach. People do not but Janet Collection Hair.

I actually love this hair ALL BECAUSE it has such a NON TYPICAL CROCHET look. Like you said it looks like bundle hair which actually translates to looking MORE EXPENSIVE to me which is typically NOT THE LOOK OF THE MAJORITY OF CROCHET HAIR since crochet hair is the cheap girl's favorite protective inexpensive style. However I love Janet Collection as a brand for always being the brand that has offered a higher level of every variety that is "trending" but I understand its all a matter of personal and individual preference. I am happy to hear you offer your subscribers what alternatives they must alter for the variations of hairs when you review different textures or curl/wave patterns. I am very happy to observe your review and influence growth while still keeping your integrity rapport AND you have included some more variety beauty vids to your channel as well. Really an enjoying your evolution. Wishing you well. I am sure you'll be hearing from several more brands in the near future.
I'm sorry but that hair is looking worse and worse with each passing week. Did you wrap it up each night? Not sure why it looks so tossleed and frizzy. Thanks for the review. I would still try this hair only I would probably separate it into 3 sections, braid those sections, and then wrap it up at night. When you take it down in the morning, just undo the braids, run your finger through each cornrow part, shake and go girl. Also, I don't think that hair needs product in it. I think that's where it all went wrong.
The first time I used the Janet collection I got Havana twist that hair was horrible it was very Nappy looking only had it in for a week couldn't longer that had blisters on my scalp just horrible I never use the Janet collection again I love love freetress hair.

Hi Lia! You know you're the #1 reason why I do crotchet. You are very detailed when you talk about different hair and your always look great but this time I'm sorry to say but your hair looks awful. From day one it looked old. I tried the Dominican curl of the Janet Jackson collection. The first day it was beautiful. It doesn't really hold a good knot either for too long. I think maybe after 3 days of wearing it I cut it out. The looks and feels beautiful and soft but it is just too high maintenance. I'm again Lia the hair looks bad on you like you've been partying. P.S. Don't worry I'm not hating I Love You Girl!!! We will have to make a wig with that hair to get it to last longer. Keep up the great job on reviews. People need to know and see what hair looks like after 1 and 2 weeks. BRAVO!!!
I use a lot of the hair for micro minis. I find that soft hair will eventually unravel especially if you decide to wash your hair with the install in. my advice to anyone watching this channel if they decide to use it for micro minis is to use nail glue. Now I know what you're thinking nail glue: I'm not putting nail glue on my hair. But if you braid the hair past your own hair and use a dot of the nail glue, it will lock and hold and you will be allowed to actually wash your hair as well. This is a method that I've been using for some years. This is only going to work if you decide to do it with micro minis braids. I would not suggest doing it if you are doing crochet styles.
Get yourself a razor comb. Scissors and installed hair don't really vibe. If you use a razor comb to cut, you won't have any blunt butchered looking ends. That hair looks great on you though!

I'm sorry but that hair is looking worse and worse with each passing week. Did you wrap it up each night? Not sure why it looks so tossleed and frizzy. Thanks for the review. I would still try this hair only I would probably separate it into 3 sections, braid those sections, and then wrap it up at night. When you take it down in the morning, just undo the braids, run your finger through each cornrow part, shake and go girl. Also, I don't think that hair needs product in it. I think that's where it all went wrong.
The first time I used the Janet collection I got Havana twist that hair was horrible it was very Nappy looking only had it in for a week couldn't longer that had blisters on my scalp just horrible I never use the Janet collection again I love love freetress hair.

Hi Lia! You know you're the #1 reason why I do crotchet. You are very detailed when you talk about different hair and your always look great but this time I'm sorry to say but your hair looks awful. From day one it looked old. I tried the Dominican curl of the Janet Jackson collection. The first day it was beautiful. It doesn't really hold a good knot either for too long. I think maybe after 3 days of wearing it I cut it out. The looks and feels beautiful and soft but it is just too high maintenance. I'm again Lia the hair looks bad on you like you've been partying. P.S. Don't worry I'm not hating I Love You Girl!!! We will have to make a wig with that hair to get it to last longer. Keep up the great job on reviews. People need to know and see what hair looks like after 1 and 2 weeks. BRAVO!!!

Try sewing a mesh wig net on top of your braids, notting is much easier. I crochet the hair on a mesh weave net, then sew the net on to my braids.
I use a lot of the hair for micro minis. I find that soft hair will eventually unravel especially if you decide to wash your hair with the install in. my advice to anyone watching this channel if they decide to use it for micro minis is to use nail glue. Now I know what you're thinking nail glue: I'm not putting nail glue on my hair. But if you braid the hair past your own hair and use a dot of the nail glue, it will lock and hold and you will be allowed to actually wash your hair as well. This is a method that I've been using for some years. This is only going to work if you decide to do it with micro minis braids. I would not suggest doing it if you are doing crochet styles.
Get yourself a razor comb. Scissors and installed hair don't really vibe. If you use a razor comb to cut, you won't have any blunt butchered looking ends. That hair looks great on you though!

I love this hair and I love the way it looks on you. I plan on doing a search for it tomorrow at local beauty supply stores. If I DO NOT find it, what other name can I find a that style in? Also, in detangling any hair, do you recommend using water and mouse? I am so the beginner in crocheting my hair, but I love the look( not crazy about real thick styles), I love the response of my own hair to crocheting (it grows like crazy), and I love the idea of get up and go, if you will.
