Thank you! I thought I escaped this when medical school ended, then the dreaded post-graduate medical exams began and I guess I finally have to commit this to memory.

Thanks Amanda! One of those things that I had to constantly relearn in medical school 😂 Mnemonics certainly made it harder to forget! Glad you got some value out of them 🤗
I’m taking rifampin for latent tb. I’m not on any other medication but I do take cbd & thc for my arthritis. It’s kind of helping with my nausea side effects from Rifampin. Should I stop cbd?? Thank you.
The only thing thats BS here is that I managed to memorize all of these drugs in under 5 mins but failed to do so in class... pharmacology exam in 1 day, here I come! P.S. on a serious note, thank you so much for this video!
Hi Adam, generally warfarin is acted upon by the CYP450 enzymes, meaning that if other medications (such as the ones in the mnemonics) are present, then warfarin may be end up in a higher or lower than intended concentration. This is rather than warfarin itself changing the activity of the CYP450 enzymes. Hope this clears it up! Thanks for the question 😄
I believe statins are mostly metabolised by CYP450 enzymes and so are more likely to be affected by inducers/inhibitors, rather than have that effect themselves. Although some sources do list statins as both inducers and inhibitors..

CYP450 is one of my favorite enzymes by far! This was so insightful 😊

Very helpful and the pneumonic was great.
Instant sub. Thank you for the concise and color coordinated educational tool.
Thank you, really appreciate the sub!
you've come once again to my rescue. thank you very much.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you!
Really good video !!!!!
Thanks!
Do inducers help P450 slow metabolizers, metabolize drugs ? Also, are there foods that slow metabolizers should avoid?
Hi, what do you mean with greater effect ? Maybe toxic effects or an increase or bioavailability of the drug or probably both, thank you so much...

This was very helpful
Glad it helped, thanks!
Thanks . What about smoking?
Why are you so amazing😭
Which sulfonylureas cause CYP induction? Couldn’t find any studies or evidence of the class inducing CYPs anywhere!?
Sulfonamides are P450 inhibitors but sulfonylureas which are also sulfonamide are P450 inducer.. How ??
Thanks
You're welcome 😊
Thnks fr this video
You're absolutely welcome!
Is this the same enzyme that metabolize weed?

Pharmacology was a tough one! 😂 Best of luck Maria 💪
Wow 🤩
do u have mnemonic for drug that metabolis by cytochrome p450
Hi! I'll see what I can do, I think a mnemonic with drugs that are commonly affected by CYP enzymes changes could help a lot of people 😊
what about warfarin?

Excellent!
Narrator's voice sounds familiar, an old Chemistry World Podcast contributor perhaps?
Anyway those mnemonics are awesome. Very handy
