Odysseus knocked Poseidon’s trident out of his hand with the wind bag and used it to make the initial strike which brought Poseidon low before dropping it. He picks it back up after Poseidon taunts him.

@@JenniferGlatzhofer The livestream for the Ithaca Saga was so goofy. Make sure you pay attention to the cast because they get up to so many shenanigans through the whole thing lol.
The Trident Poseidon uses "Trishula" is most often depicted as being made of pure gold. It was made SPECFICALLY to maim Titans and Gods, so because Ody is a demi-god (kind of the relation gets shaky, with Hermes TECHNICALLY being his great grandfather, but he was also had the blessing of Athena as his patron God, so the discrepancy can be made up there) he could HARM Poseidon, but because he is also Mortal, he could not kill him, because no mortal can ever kill a God.
2:09 that is actually the motive of the Wind Bag! (or the Wind God) i really enjoy your videos and I have learned so much new stuff!-❤❤ edit, I just now kept watching and yeah haha
I don't know if you already recorded the Ithaca Saga but Gwendy just dropped her animatic for the first song an hour ago. But I also recommend BritPowPixel for the first 2 songs their animatic is also great.
no, not at all. Red eyes symbolize the monster. Odysseus metaphorically dies in get in the water (he draws his final breath) and is "reborn" as the monster. This is symbolized by the red eyes, the different beast motif, the conclusion of the prophecy in no longer you while he is stabbing poseidon, and a lot of other things in the Ithaca saga. Jorge has confirmed this too. In fact, if you have watched the official livestream for the Ithaca saga, without spoiling anything, you will notice that every time Odysseus is shown in the animatics, his eyes are red, regardless of what is going on in the scene. He is no longer Odysseus, the man, he is Odysseus, the monster, transcending his humanity and that is why he gets backing vocals.
Whenever you start reacting to the Ithaca saga, Gwendy just released a full animation for The Challenge today that I strongly recommend you check out! It's probably been my favorite fan made piece for that song so far (though there are a lot of really good ones tbf)
I can't wait till you get to the Ithaca saga, already from The Challenge all songs are absolutely amazing and emotionally wrecking at the same time. You'll see!

I please please PLEASE ask you if you’re looking for a new musical series to analyse, The Wiz 2024 has absolutely blown me away with some of the most complex riffs and vocals I’ve heard from a musical playlist in a long time. You will NOT be dissapointed!
I’m not sure if anyone has said this but when you reacted to Scylla or mutiny when you asked if there was another way they could’ve went other then scyllas lair the only 2 options to not be pursued by Poseidon was scyllas lair or Charybdis lair what he chose was the better option the toll or the cost for scylla was feeding her 6 heads while Charybdis wouldn’t have stopped they all would’ve died
I wish he could sleep soundly in his bed but this guy must have major PTSD. He probably won't be able to sleep properly for the foreseeable future :(((
So this was posted in a different epic vid, but basically when Posideon is calling Ody a monster its actually a thing. Monsters to the olympians were forces of nature, and dangerous creatures. Specific examples are things like cerberus or the 4 armed humanoid monstrosity that i forget the name of, but basically Posideon is admitting that ody is now on par with those entities
I will maybe see people next time for the reaction Probably not though my adhd will not remember this and only reason im even here for this one is because the ending was still relatively recent
Interesting theory, what do you think to the idea that Poseidon's cries of pain are tuneful because his screams of pain are music to Odysseus' ears? Twisted but poignant
If you listen right after Ody's "you didn't stop when I begged you", you can hear Poseidon gurgling because he gets stabbed in the throat in the official animatic. But then he can immediately talk fine for the rest of the song so...God logic I guess lol. And it never fails to make me snort that Poseidon calls Ody a monster in this song. Like my guy, you're the one who tried to kill him twice, you killed over 500 men who had nothing to do with your beef with this guy...who's the monster? You're whole thing was being ruthless! And when that lesson is thrown in your face you start crying like a baby! God logic again I guess, hypocrisy is kinda their thing it seems. Also, you aren't ready for the last two songs of the Ithaca Saga XD.
While the "canon" animatic for this was... a bit silly... the end part with Odysseus & Poseidon is chilling in it. The Ody has drawn his last breath...
athena isnt dead. why? shes a god. and gods cant be killed. they can be injured sure. like poseidon was. but he wasnt killed. because he isnt able to be killed....so athena very much is definetley alive
Last song of the vengeance saga and then onto the ithica saga❤ the only thing im kinda upset about this is that how are they going to bring aeolus's motif in but not get her actual singer, i also wished for like a bit of scylla in the song Charybdis because they were on opposite sides of a strait(very close) but we didnt get that😢 but over all it was an amazing saga❤❤❤ and i cant wait to watch the premiere, if im even awake 😔
Growing up means realizing that Odysseus is the real villain of the story... He decided to enter the giant's cave out of curiosity, he chose to stay with Circe for a year or more, he prolonged the journey home, always because of his curiosity. He killed the remaining men to return to Ithaca, and it will always be him who, after i don't quite remember exactly how many years, decides to leave Ithaca again. He dies in that journey, leaving Penelope alone once more, and his son, who admired him so much.

This is the only part in the Musical that I don't agree with (Song is great though as usual): Gods (especially one of the Big 3) are supposed to be untouchable, it's straight up illogical that a mortal is beating up Poseidon like this. Also, the wind bag is just... chaos. And here suddenly Oddyseus is able to harness that chaos exactly to his liking, it's a bit absurd. I don't know, maybe just my opinion and view of things.
In the mythos, yes they are, but not in the musical. Jorge has explained a lot that epic does not follow the conventional rules of Greek myths and that gods can be defeated if their weaknesses are exploited. He explained that Poseidon is a range fighter but once the battle is up and close, he can be taken down. Also, about the bag, it's just him using the storm to his advantage like he does at the end of Ruthless.
@@EchoedR okay fair enough, I didn't know that Jorge wasn't playing by these conventional rules of Myths. Still on the fence about the wind bag though, at the end of Ruthlessness he used it to escape and had to abide to the consequence of the storm taking him whereever (away from home and right when opening it). Did Jorge mention anything about why this wind bag now behaves so much different than the first one?
@@Loglen so the thing with the wind bag that I'm realizing is that in both cases, the storm is chaotic, but the actual wind isn't. Like, in Ruthlessness, if the wind was chaotic it had an equal chance to just fly the ship right back at Poseidon, but it could be directed so it wouldn't. In this song, he uses the wind itself for travel, but the storm is still chaotic and doesn't necessarily help (of course that part depends on the animatic, but using the official one, the storm doesn't help, it's the wind from the bag allowing Odysseus to move around and take that up close position against Poseidon) But yeah, that's how I see it looking at the two songs.
Even in the myths, the Gods aren't untouchable by any means. Ares was explicitly injured by mortals during the Trojan War, for instance. As for the Wind Bag being able to be harnessed, it's important to note that Poseidon is going directly against Zeus's command here. That's why he tried to talk Odysseus into committing suicide rather than murdering him right off the bat...he is defying Zeus by doing the latter. Zeus, Aeolus and all the other Gods are backing Odysseus here, if subtly...wind obeying someone with Zeus and Aeolus on their side is far from impossible.
Odysseus knocked Poseidon’s trident out of his hand with the wind bag and used it to make the initial strike which brought Poseidon low before dropping it. He picks it back up after Poseidon taunts him.
