This episode actually gives a good look at the actual dilemma for the mission. Damian’s dad has been built up to basically not give him any time of day compared to his older brother, who is a complete prodigy. So it’s now no longer viable to JUST be friends with Damian. BOTH him and Anya have to become Imperial Scholars for Loid to even have a chance of meeting his target.
The episodes based around Anya's daily school life are by far my favorite ones. I still remember what being a kid was like and it's a lot of crazy drama that seems absurd as an adult, but kids take it really seriously. This show actually captures it, which is great. Only Mitsuboshi Colors has done it as well.
This episode has made me accept that Loid being oblivious when it comes to Yor is a gag. When Loid asks Yor, “are you athletic?” I almost slapped my forehead in frustration. I have to accept Loid’s density for my own sanity
Part of me thinks the intent was “are you into sports” since Loid knows she’s crazy strong/agile already, just that it was translated weirdly, but who knows
Since you asked how many cours will this show have - after the first 12 episodes, there's going to be a break, and another 13 episodes will air later this year
I agree with not being the best dodgeball episode in anime history because in the other show that Carson thinks is longer (more episodes) so it's kinda unfair to compare because the Spy x Family one is only half of the episode but it's much funnier then those episodes plus even though Anya has "power" she still a child like the other kids (6) so it was meant to be funny and not serious. Regarless LOVED the episode/reaction!
Actually if I'm not mistaken Anya is younger, Loid thought she looked younger when he met her and will only choose a 6 year old, so it's possible Anya lied about her actual age just to be adopted, there's a high chance she is younger than the other kids
I can't believe that Loid actually had the guts to ask Yor "Are you athletic?". Bro, did you not see her slap her brother hard enough to yeet him all the way across the room TWICE in the last episode?
It was mistranslated. He asked her if she was good at sports, if you play the scene back you can actually hear him say "sports" in English yet they still fucked up the translation.
I don't think it's about trauma, it's just that Love is War is known for not relying on fanservice to attract viewers, but he thinks that the series has started deviating from that. I disagree with him on that point, but yeah, that is where his complaint is coming from
I think you are stretching the topic about Yor's gym clothes too much and both of you forgot to mention in the end about Damian's character and his relationship with his father and also how beautiful this is animated. Love the reactions
I will say that this was in the manga, so if someone said it was filler I would laugh at them! I enjoy your thoughts on this show. You both have interesting things to say and it's alway nice hearing how other people think about this stuff. Keep it up and have a nice day!!! ∩ω∩
??? Not sure It's confirmed anywhere (manga or anime) what her age actually is. She said she was six to get adopted after reading Loid's mind but it is said/shown several times that she looks younger/smaller than that (and she also acts less mature/knowledgeable than her peers - though that may be down to her lack of pre-school education). I think most readers assume she is in fact younger than six but her true age isn't known.
"Hate to see a grown child cry" actually made me lol

I love when, I think the shows theme, plays when Anya was preparing her ultimate killer throw!

"X is stupid" is a more effective explanation than you think

@@cm6138 playing back the audio, I think you’re right. He definitely said sports
Yor got her super strength from birth anyway
@@cm6138 Yes, in Italian they had translated just like that.

My elementary school actually had the rules in place that if you caught the ball, whoever was out on your team actually could come back.
Ngl I thought she would win but then with the cheer from the class we all know that means it will be anticlimatic. You won in our heart Anya.

Hxh (might be something else but as far as i know it has the most famous dogeball game in anime)

6:35 DON'T FUCK WITH THIS SENATOR!
10:35 my man is about to make the mother of all omelets at the age of six
The entire season so far has been highly rewatchable in my opinion.
Anya and Damian just needed Hisoka in their side to win.
Just heads up to everyone this episode was by Wit Studio as well
The way how Bill say "daddy" killed me and was stupid at the same time xD

In the manga, Loid said "Are you also into sports, Yor?"
Always love a good Montague especially when its Anya in any kind of training by Yor lol.
9:34 TOP 10 SADDEST DEATH ON ANIME
Ive been waiting for this episode since I heard this was getting an anime. I'm super happy with how it was adapted.
Is that Byson? From street fighter?hahaah Bill's dad.
17:40 This reminds me of Digibro's take on Flying Witch about doing fan-service "tastefully". I wonder where Carson's trauma of fanservice comes from.
I don't think it's about trauma, it's just that Love is War is known for not relying on fanservice to attract viewers, but he thinks that the series has started deviating from that. I disagree with him on that point, but yeah, that is where his complaint is coming from
@@angelmendez-rivera351 I was commenting in general. Everytime an anime has even the smallest amount of fanservice he goes on a rant.
Ahhh yes carson knows about the most intense dodge ball game ever.
Not the best dodgeball game ever, no lie there. And still I started humming "the emperor's time" the moment Bill appeared
1: HOW MUCH PROTEIN DID BILL DRANK???
2: Anya can throw a punch but can't throw a ball? Shame 😂😂
Dodgeball is a very popular sport in Japanese elementary schools
Yeah, it isnt the most intense dodge ball game. That title belongs to another show we all know 👀
which show

Ayo Ushijima reincarnated to a whole new show
I think you are stretching the topic about Yor's gym clothes too much and both of you forgot to mention in the end about Damian's character and his relationship with his father and also how beautiful this is animated. Love the reactions
Agreed. The portion about the fanservice came off as a bit simp-esque and hypocritical.
So..... Ushijima play dodgeball in elementary
Then switch to volleyball in highschool.....
So Bill's daddy was bison from street fighter?

Daddy! That boy is built different!
Is this a spin off of Ushiwaka?
All that and they took no one from the other class😂
It is close to the dodgeball game from HxH, both peak 14:05

Imagine being in your 30s in your 6s, couldn't be me.
The dodgeball game is from hunter x hunter and you can see the reference of it when Damian catches the ball
Ahh yes, Bill Watkins. The 1st grader with a pituitary gland disorder.
Not even. He was a short little kid like all the others, he was just taller than the rest. I was Bill, basically, for most of my school years.
Unrelated to the anime but i finally figured it out...she uses less muscles in her face for her expressions than regular people kinda cool
? who
Yor is very elegant.
pls tell me why is Razor here?, they must be on Greed Island or somethin, is it Spy x Hunter now?🤣
please make the kaguya reactions sooner, its not nice see you react to it when the next episode comes out.
She only trained for a week just how good do you think she was going to be .
Woooo!
Anya is not four btw. It's what Loyd thought when he saw her. She is six like the rest of the class.
