This might seem a strange comment but I really appreciate that you DONT apologise about traffic noise in the background. Most of us know, or are getting to know, you live in New York. Adds ambiance. And I’ll reiterate how much I love you in natural light, and your natural skintone, when you can, gives a much better idea of colours.

100% agree! Seeing Robert Welsh (a professional makeup artist) struggle with getting a product to work is very reassuring too. If it’s shit it’s shit, not just a you problem.
Honestly, this video was so encouraging lol. Sometimes it helps to see others try and come to the same conclusion that I have! And it helpe to see its not just me that has frustrating makeup days.
I also hated the Elf powder foundation and I like powder foundation, actually more than liquid. Thanks for showing us that sometimes it IS the product and not us!😂❤
Very useful info! I’ve had awful experiences when I used my “holy grails”, then decide to use a new mascara or eyeliner at the end, until I learned my lesson to try them out before hand. I can be kinda stubborn sometimes. 🙄
I agree. Not sure why people would want freckles for anything other than a costume...they remind me of someone who would play a farm girl for Halloween...with pigtails, a bandana and overalls - not for an every day look, or to be taken seriously.
This is definitely giving Little Orphan Annie. 😆 I've only tried two JCat products, but I really like them: the Noche eyeshadow palette and the Rock n' Glitz liquid eyeliner in the black matte shade. I wonder if part of the problem is that they're not available in stores. I would love to see some testers for them! (And Flower Beauty!)
I actually really like the Elf powder foundation on top of the halo glow with a large fluffy brush, just to add a little bit of coverage. Afterwards I use a setting spray and it looks nice!
I almost returned the elf powder foundation after using it a few times because it broke apart my best foundations and looked heavy. I am so glad I didn’t return it because it’s my absolute favorite now that I know how to apply it! I put concealer under my eyes and anywhere that I need it then I dust the powder foundation all over my face like you do. It is extremely heavy if you put much of anything underneath it. On its own it looks stunning on me. I got the essence one too and I like it but I think Elf is better. May try a different shade! I got 150 cool and I think it’s more neutral. 😊
I love all of your videos, girl, and I love the creativity of this topic! Keep different topics coming! I also love your vlogs, hun! You are my favorite influencer!
I also have the ELF powder foundation and have only tried it out once since I bought it about a year ago, because of the VERY yellow undertone.. I thought about using it as an undereye powder/brightener, like you also mentioned, but haven’t gotten around to doing so yet. That’s the only way I could imagine making it work though, because on the entire face it looks OFF!😅
I like the elf camo powder foundation but only in Summer. It’s actually ok on a well hydrated skin.I don’t use the applicator provided. I use a large fluffy brush.
I like the elf powder foundation. I've used up a whole one and bought a second one. I did buy the wrong shade at first though. It did look terrible. But now I wear 205N and it's perfect.
I agree with you with the elf shadows, I have that one and the orange. I personally use them as a base because all cream shadows fade off my eyes in no time (this one does last a little longer then others)
Elf has surprisingly worked its way into my makeup collection with several of their products, the powder foundation though was a one and done for me. I applied it once and into the trash it went!! Done!!
How I'd try the freckles: I'd use at least 2 finger "stamps" & make sure they look very different, maybe one w/ 5 average dots and one w/ 3 heavy ones (a lower number, but that will "go longer"). I'd do one stamp at a time & avoid tapping in a straight line. I'd alternate sides, jump around, maybe twist your hand around lol. Then, once most of the product is off, I'd tap elsewhere on the face, maybe the hairline since the sun hits there, too. ☀
Same! I bought it because I loved the IT cosmetics powder foundation, but wanted to try a drugstore version. I had the same issue with the shade light 240W.
I feel like I am the only one who doesn't love the essence lash princess mascara. It just doesn't work for me and I am so upset about that. Anyways, very nice and entertaining Video. Thank you, Kelly, for all your hard work. I always enjoy your videos. 🥰
I've never tried lash princess so I can't say if I am sitting in your corner, but there's the one bright side of essence having 50 000 mascaras. They must have something that suits you out there. I, myself, really like their all eyes on me mascara
@@danielasarmiento30 thank you so much for your suggestion. I will try this one. Luckily I already have one mascara I really love. But thank you anyways. Have a nice day ☺
I have a couple products I really like from jcat. Like they have those putty esque blushes that are good and I have a highlighter stick that is like a holographic one I love in summer
Maybelline tattoo shadow pots have been reformulated and are way better than they used to be as far as blend ability and not drying out in the pot so fast. It’s a much thinner formula, buildable and the shades have been extended and can be used as a Mac paint pot because they have matte flesh tone ones.
omg i just bought bright highlighter from rev, i love it as far. was surprised to see it here. i personally like this kind of shimmering. but fr the packaging is weird lol.
Damn....I was thinking to buy the Elf powder foundation the next month since the Loreal powder foundation was disappointing for me. I have super oily skin, so I thought maybe I'll try buying the Elf one, as I can't afford the Mac or Fenty powder foundation. You saved my hard earned money girl❤
I'm a redhead, most people think the freck is real on me but I think it's because they expect me to have freckles and I don't have many plus I put them on before bronzer blush and highlight
I got the creme shop freckle pen and it was so dark, so perfect circles (that doesn't make sense but you know what I mean) and it dries the second you put it on. It looks like I dotted deep brown/black eyeliner spots all over my face
I've never tried the putty eyeshadow but I hate the putty bronzer, tries down to a powder and peels off my face, same with the original putty blush ( gorgeous colors though ) / the putty eyeshadow primer is horrible for mature eyes. Don't like either Camo foundation either. So for me ELF is the hit or miss brand. Either really like or not at all...
I use the elf camo powder for a highlighter. Like down my nose a little on my chin and to give my eyes a lift. I never liked actual highlighter on my nose.
I love the Elf halo contour/bronzer and highlighters but the blush I find to be super patchy and not the same formula as the others. Anyone else experienced this or I’m wondering, is it just the shade I got that isn’t consistent with the others?
Omg I hate the revolution highlight I went out and bought it cause some people were raving about it and I find it horrible kinda dry doesn't blend in well and melt in the skin glitter to big to me it looks more like a liquid eyeshadow . I also have the pink beam shade .
@@KellyGooch that's what I was thinking I may try it that way before I declutter it I mean I just bought it and tried it 2 times may as well see if I can find another way to use it before I throw a 10$ bill in the trash.
I agree with Sam Payne above-the freckles are actually not as bad as you think; I’m of the opinion you look fresh and youthful (which u are already Kelly😉), but just taken up a notch. Although these products you mention have low ratings, overall if something doesn’t work for or appeal to one, it may to many others. There are a great many things people rave about or it goes viral, I buy and try it, & it ends up just “eh” for me OR- it’s completely horrible. I think it’s subjective, IMO 🤷🏻♀️ You look great dear, go out as you are! Great video idea tho, most just post the “superb” items, if you do that of course you will look great every time. It’s nice to see it from a different angle, some people have to work with what they have or can afford, especially in this time of such high inflation 💄💋👏🏻❤️
The Falsh Lash one in the green and black tube is by far the best mascara I’ve ever used! Better than Tarte, Lancôme etc. So affordable too at $5 or less! This is just my opinion! But I know you’re gonna love it! Happy St Paspddy’s Day!☘️💚🇮🇪
one thing I’ve realized about myself is that I like my makeup routine how it is. If I have to use something that makes me do my routine in a different way I probably won’t use it😅 bc I have products I can just use and not worry about or have to make work so I don’t see the point in trying to make it work. I get that u spent money and wanna make it work but for me I already spent the money and I would rather just give it away then try to make it work and then never use it
I was going to consider buying the elf camo powder foundation when I go to ulta sometime soon but nevermind it seems like a total pass especially having dry skin.
Please make a series of trouble shooting products that suck but can be used in a different way for those of us bad at returning products in a timely fashion.😂 Even products that aren’t horrible, but you find better ways to use them instead of it’s intended use. I have created some of my favorite formulas, custom created, by doing this… using a product in a different way than it’s meant for or mixing products to get magic.
The elf no budge shadow sticks I got were no joke. They wouldn’t wash off for ANYTHING. My eyelids were raw and peeling for days after washing them off. They promptly went in the trash.
Would love your take on using bronzer for adding color vs contours with bronzers 🤎🧡💛🖌 I just dabbled in soft contouring from the French MUA Andrea (can’t recall her last name) here on YT and since then your take on how cream bronzers don’t sit well on top of foundations makes sense. Andrea (and I’m assuming other contour peeps too) says to put the bronzer, highlighter and foundation on the skin in their places and then blend them in one at a time, bronzer last. The bronzer is going on the skin directly rather than on top of a foundation. So…are all cream bronzers intended for this type of contouring? But powder bronzers for adding overall depth and color lost after using foundation?
I’m not gonna lie the fake freckles look exactly like how all fake freckles look whether it’s freck or another brand. I think it’s cute but they’re never real looking ◡̈
I don't get why anyone would use a freckle pen ( except for a costume or something ) you either have freckles or you don't- don't paint fake ones on your face 😏
The thumbnail for this video was the best. :D Cheek tint is one of those things I just don't understand. "Back in the day" it was meant to work UNDER foundation or powder as a "natural" blush. They were highly pigmented and always gave me the willies... so easy to mess up. One thing I saw a few people try is to mix with primer, but to me if you have to work a product that much, it's probably not worth it.
tbh their mascaras are still the absolute best, I'm never paying more for another mascara in my life. not all of them are equally amazing but I've never tried a mascara from them that I hated
Yup they actually have some good products. Mascaras are pretty solid, their old powder blushes are really good, new baked blushes are great, baked highlighter great, good lip glosses, great lip liners, absolutely epic nude eyeliner. You've given poor old Essence a bit of an unfair hit 😉 / Perhaps they just don't work for you. Products I liked but now don't at all are all the ELF putty things - except the Luminous Blush - the rest get really powdery and literally peel off my face, same with their Camo foundation...
Essence is pretty good. Except for their bronzer, I haven’t bought a product I didn’t like. Their old foundation was good, their eyeshadow is good, their primer is decent, lip balm is nice, lip gloss is good,
