As an MT10 owner of 4 years, the mpg issue not about cost, it's the effect on the range. I'd be happy if it just had a 20 litre tank, especially as I use it for tours as well, which it does very well with a screen, aside from range anxiety in the middle of nowhere!

For the owners of old model, drop the triple clamp by 10-12mm, the bike immediately feels more nosy and easier to point to apex. There’s your improved chassis. Not my idea, it’s from Dave Moss.

One of my favourite naked bikes with similar character as the original daddy of supernakeds, the Aprilia Tuono 1000. Both the original MT10 and Tuono had bonkers power delivery in their day, both are not the most refined but captured the essence of sticking two fingers up at convention and just allowing the rider to rediscover what 2 wheeled fun is all about. There has to be a rawness, an element of danger and excitement so I hope they haven't refined the new one too much. The other thing that the Tuono and MT10 have in common is that they have a brilliant chassis. I'd love one in the garage alongside my beloved rsvr Mille. I tried the S1000R but it was too anaemic, too good and too refined...it was great but ultimately forgettable. Great review. Great conclusions. This is the ideal supernaked for you Al!😁

I still don't understand how they can't get better fuel economy... I bought a brand new 03 ZX 6R that was consistently and predictably giving me a constant 48 MPG. I would ride the speed limit for sport bikes at a steady 120 and it was a 600, so I was twisting the clamp-ons off. It didn't shift worth a 💩 being a kawi, but it worked on fuel.

One of the reasons i bought a 2018 MT10SP was because of your video you did all those years back and i still love it to this day, the broad range of capability of this bike is what makes it so amazing, its just a heaps of FUN. I always say i'm not a wheelie guy, never really learned to do big clutch up wheelies but with this bike you can smoothly loft the front wheel at will when ever you feel like, makes you laugh and giggle in your helmet, thats what its all about. NOTE: Just changing the front brake pads to a decent set of sintered pads made a huge difference to brake feel. I would definetly get the new one if finances allowed it.

Mark one mid pipes do not fit without some modification. The official titanium akra midpipe to go with the official akra silencer is £700. YOWZA! I already got thoroughly bum ravaged buying the akra silencer. May have to wait for my chute to heal before they ream me out again. Got to say though, this bike is a damn big jump from my 2014 model year MT09 which it has replaced.

I agree, the BMW S1000r is better in every way. Especially the m1000r omg. But still leaning towards the MT. More fun, has more character, better look. Don't know is just me getting older but why can't manufacturers design good-looking bikes anymore. Especially BMW goes fastest but looks so lame. Never felt the MT10 would need more power, and only once got overtaken by a KTM Superduke. He eat me up. It's more the rider than the bike in this category, especially on twisty roads. If I were a better rider I might want a faster bike but not at the moment. Ride for 10 years with some track day experience as well.

Hey guy, I just recently purchased a 21 mt10 in CA, I'm a active duty service member so purchasing another motorcycle from a different state wasn't an option for me. With that being said I went for my first oil change and the mechanic told me that I have a restricted motorcycle and since I bought the motorcycle in Cali, and I am no longer there. I could unlock more CC from my bike (Not by Mods but by possibility rewiring). Idk how much this is true but I would love for some extra option on the matter. Thank you!
