We had a lovely brunch at the Lakeside Inn when we were visiting The Villages. Took a little day trip out to Mount Dora. Fun Fact: I used to be a wedding planner/event sales manager at a historic and shmancy hotel in Boston, and for a while there, I wanted to move to Mt Dora and do the same at The Lakeside Inn. We ate in Tremaine's but (as you said) had a Beauclaire Brunch menu.
Wow that is so awesome. Yes, we are locals but never knew about the historical Inn. Reminds me of the historical inn we use to stay at on our travels that was located in Perry, Georgia called the New Perry Hotel Motel. It was a lot like the one in Mt. Dora. but not as big. Unfortunately the family sold it about 20 years ago. It use to be great to stay there and go back in time. Thanks for this video.
We're locals. But I've never known of this beautiful place. Reminds me of the historical hotel we use to stay at during our travels. We always stayed at the New Perry Hotel Motel in Perry, Georgia. Unfortunately they sold it 20 years ago and it's never been the same once the original family members no longer owned it.
My family in the sixties and early seventies would travel to Mt. Dora for the sailing regatta. Most of the time we would stay at the lakeside inn. There use to be a pool table in the basement. We would hang out there.
We stayed there a few years ago. It’s old! There is a distinct smell and the water pressure is terrible and AC was weak. However, it’s a great experience!
Are the pillows too soft or too hard? I normally like hard pillows, but most people like the opposite Also, if you aren’t sure, going to have a rental refrigerator, you could bring a small ice chest
Good question. I don’t really remember but for some reason I think they were more firm. Not 100% sure! You could always bring a small one that is true!
Groovy video, but the hotel had some small problems. One restaurant menu with three restaurant names, weird. No frig. Ice machine broken. Bar no open 7 days a week. I would hope that the more costly rooms were fancier.

Awesome! We will have to try the brunch sometime. That is a cool fact! That would be a pretty fun job!

It’s such a cool, historical spot! It’s sad that new owners can completely change a place. If you get the chance, check this one out!
Looks like a neat place to stay. I would just sit in those rocking chairs and look out at the water!
It’s a fun, historic place! Very peaceful!

We agree, it’s definitely unique! And that’s what makes it cool! Lol
My husband Tom was a boat captian forthe tours. You really should do the tour, it's pretty cool. You see a lot of gators.
Oh really? We will totally have to do that sometime. Thanks for sharing!
I wish you would have taken the boat ride. It looks cool.
We will have to go back sometime and try the boat ride for sure!
Nice video 📹 👍
Thank you!
Looked heautiful
It was wonderful!
I would be going back down to the front desk and asking for a better room.
It is a very old establishment so those are the rooms you will be staying in if you got to the Historic Lakeside Inn. It was a great experience!
Can you tell if they are pet friendly! looks great . hope to make a visit there this fall when we move back to Fl. later this year.
Yeah looks like on their website it shows the pet friendly rooms are in the sunset building! It was a great place to stay!

In honor for the 140th anniversary they should charge for what the prices were 140 years ago. HaHa
Haha we like this idea a lot! You should recommend that to them!
🎉🎉❤
It was fun!
