Got the bike over the weekend!! Kevin the owner was fantastic with his customer care. Very happy with the performance of the bike and I’m looking forward to some nice rides as the weather gets better on the east coast. This beast has some great torque and is very fast!!
Nice bike -- great power, torque and suspension. I just bought a FENGQS 26" fat tire bike w/ twin 1000W motors (each wheel), 24ah battery w/ 58V. With both motors on, it's a full fledged beast and launches you to 35mph in under 12-secs. I've ridden up to 60-miles on a charge and just love it. Unlike the GhostCat though, my suspension is rough so I don't have the travel yours has. However, I bought this for $1300.
Any e-bike builder that designs a bike without room for a second battery isn't paying attention to the market. This bike would have been epic 3 or 4 years ago. Power is old news, range is the new hotness.
Thank you man, I really appreciate the review. I agree on the things that can be improve and also with the things a like: speed, torque, brakes and suspension for a great price. I live outside the US, so my bike will arrive at the end of april, so this video keeps me excited while I'm waiting. Again, thanks for the review!
Thats awesome man, cool intro and very high quality production over all. Appreciate all the nice looking angles of the bike. Ive already got one on the way. Hope you did not scrape the knee to bad 🤗 Be careful out dare!
This does seem like random parts from Alibaba. Try the anioki A8 pro max dual motor 3500 Watts. I just got one and it's like a motorcycle. They have truly done something different here. The entire design is unique. Biggest rotors and best brakes in the industry. Motorcycle thickness tires, with all terrain unique tread. Air suspension that is like riding on a cloud. The most travel I've seen on a E bike. Got to 47 mi an hour. Some parts and accessories are matching red anodized aluminum. Large memory foam seat. Alarm system and it comes with two electronic key fobs. The bike is massive. You got to see it in real life to appreciate it. 60 AH battery. This thing is a tank and I'm just glad I made the right choice because I researched for months. Riding it to work everyday 50 mi round trip no problem. Passing cars. So many cheap bikes online. This thing has a 300 mm rotor in the front and looks like a brembo car brake😂 Mike WTF. I stopped at full speed within seconds. Instead of going over the handlebars from the front brakes the air suspension hit in the front tire squawked and laid rubber. All while being stable. I'll shut up now I just can't believe I found AND bought the most quality you like on the market.
Once you get to know the major component manufacturers differences between them, the pricing of these bikes makes more sense. Its also best to accept the fact that you'll slowly need to upgrade many of the smaller components to better ones because they are not made to last. That battery also seems suspicious, the physical size does not match the capacity, so they may chosen a bigger enclosure for aesthetics rather than any other reason. Also the cells are probably not from the big three, but hopefully A grade domestics.
So, thank you for reviewing this bike. I've been looking for a bike for quite some time now. And you've helped me make a decision. The only thing left is to wait for a really deep discount and i'm in........
Firstly Thank you, I really liked your review , many reviewers annoy me for a list of reasons ( like I’m old )but you give a thorough well thought out review which I can’t provide any constructive criticism, heck you even included a crash test , pretty sure that’s the first I’ve seen ( smiley face emoji here ) I hope your knee healed well and with awesome torque ! I have an aventon aventure 2 and overall I could have done a Lot worse / I live in east Hollywood ( CA) and I feel like The Ghost Catters read my mind , ( they probably just listened to their fellow riders , have a few miles on their wheels and made good use of their helmet holders . Bravo to you and them , it’s on my wish list (Bravo neighbors @Ghostcat
So kickstand issue aside, the front forks could use another $100 of upgrade. And I would pay another $100 for a 25 ah battery. Say $50 worth of front and rear flexible blinkers. May as well remove the fender. Overall good stuff. Great job on the review!
Does the hub motor in the rear prevent spoke crossing? I don't think the rear wheel should have radial spokes, but probably at least 2-cross, like the front. Radial spokes don't transmit torque from either a motor or disk brake, and will stretch and loosen the spoke tension over time.
The rear wheel should be laced with the spokes crossing, the spokes are way too small dia to be laced this way , the brakes may be better than some but I feel most all ebikes use brake calipers and disc, pads that are way too small , they should use moped/ motorcycle brakes , I like the long shock travel and the large seat . Nice bike use larger spokes and lace for more strength if you have the space if you don't use the largest dia that fits the motor
If you had to choose between GhostCat F2.2 and Billy Goat V2 what would you choose? I'm leaning more towards GC but BG might have a slight edge on performance and top speed.
You guys that have electric bikes if your bike has spokes remember to check and make sure they're not loose and if you don't know how to adjust that and make it right let somebody do it that does because you have to use a dial indicator to make sure it is perfect on your run out and up and down that way it will be balanced perfectly
If you plan on keeping it, can't you get the 6" riser they offer if you want the bars higher? This is pretty much what I wanted out of my next bike. Torque, suspension, higher top speed, better brakes
Yes, performance is important but be careful making assumptions. Those cheesy b/w displays don’t keep the cost down all that much. A nice color display is more than eye candy and a two grand bike should have one.
Awesome job! I see I’m not the only one that everything likes to go wrong during reviews lol. Glad you didn’t get hurt. Surface of he moon describes most of the roads around here 😂

Do these companies just go to Alibaba, pick out parts and have them drop shipped to us? I feel like thats what i should have done instead of ordering a bike.
Lots of people have done just that. These companies are basically dropshippers. You're paying for the warranty, customer support, and convenience, as it comes 80% assembled and with UL cert, vin etc.
@@j_crust4582 thanks. Kinda makes me feel better. Goat has been pretty good. Not really any communication unless we message them but otherwise ok. I haven't gotten the bike yet. I just noticed this frame is exactly the same frame as the Billy goat.

@maximumchargeEV this was the bike I had my eye on before I found out about GPB. That was before the upgrade when it was just the regular ghostcat. @lilvegasbasc-se7en-0-duece67 this would pair nicely with the goat since that's more for the street and this does very well off road being more nimble and maneuverable
Surely you saw tailhappytv's review of the E-Cells 5-star bike by now? I opened up TH-cam last night and immediately did a double take! He gave it a pretty fair review I thought, but I kind of thought he did them dirty when he wrecked the thing while attempting to put the chain back on (for the second time). To see someone wreck such an expensive bike and act as if it's no big deal, is quite an eye-opener for people who are watching the review because they're actually in the market to purchase one. At least for people like me anyway. People who watch numerous reviews and do research for quite a while before forking over their money for a bike. I mean hell, if I had money to throw around like he did that bike, I can think of three or four different bikes that I would have bought this last year, but instead, I watched hundreds of videos like that one, and all of yours of course, because I'm trying to choose just one out of the handful of bikes on the market, that after doing tons of research, I eventually end up deeming the most worthy of spending my hard-earned money on. I'm willing to bet, that even those who make three or four times the amount of money that I make per year, are doing it the exact same way that I am/did.
@@shot_beyond I ended up hearing about in Onyx cty2 about an hour from me that only had a half a mile on it. That's the bike I ended up purchasing, and I paid about $2,000 for it. They were $3,700 brand new, but The company has since gone out of business. Now I realize that 40 + mph on an e-bike wasn't necessarily all that important. I've had my Onyx cty2 up to 54 mph, which is just crazy! It is nice sometimes though, in terms of staying safe on the road, because sometimes you have to be able to quickly get out of people's way. If I had $2,000 to spend today, and the CTY2 wasn't available to me, I'd likely choose a goat power bike, only because the seat size is important to me, because my daughter often goes along on rides with me. If I didn't need room for a passenger, I'd probably go for the E-cells five star.
@@jcolt84 Thanks for replying. I'm considering Urtopia Carbon Fibre Frame e-bike, the earlier one with the belt drive, it's on ebay for offers or buy now for £1250
Excellent presentation, as usual. From my "ain't that just typical" files, was ready to order, but they are back . . . as in back-ordered. Site projects May for the "next batch."
@@maximumchargeEV I have had terrible experiences the three times I have paid for back-orders. So I'll have to pass, especially since I have the patience of a race horse that has to piss.
I'm likin the numbers a bit, yet I'd probably like a higher voltage battery for more range. By the way, in good weather I don't see much need for a front fender.
On motorcycles you use both brakes evenly so you don’t grab all front brake and do as you did. You NEVER want to use just the front.. back is more important and forgiving. It’s not a 🚘 where front is most important.
You said be honest. I don’t know what to expect in e-bikes but, good suspension? The front wheels and guard scrub at full travel? How does such a prototype become a production item? I don’t think it would go where my mountain bike can but in my climate it would get much better range and speed specs. Thanks gif the video.
Questions: in your review you mentioned that the MAX SPEED was LOCKED IN @ 20MPH, then showed the ADVERTISED SPEED @35+ MPH, so which is it, and if it IS only 20mph, would we be able to unlock it's FULL POTENTIAL of 35+MPH? Also, how RIDER FRIENDLY would that be? What is the MAX rider weight recommended for IDEAL MAX PERFORMANCE? Will there be any options for a LARGER motor & electrical system for a top speed increase of 10+MPH? Looking forward hear your findings. Thank you for your time.😁🤙🏽
bikes usually ship at a locked lower speed, and if the consumer wants to unlock it at their own risk, you are able to do so. Ideal max performance? Get yourself to 10% body fat so the bike doesn't have to work as hard. Not sure if they will be upgrading this model but they did upgrade the xt600dl to 52v so that should go faster.
specs look good but not a fan of the smaller tire diameter moped design base , diggin my meelod dm xt 600… puttin some riser bars on the meelod with 12 degree swept back because my wrists were aching bad.
@@maximumchargeEV great vids … after buying the dual motor , never going back to the singles, the hill climbing of the meelod is so much better than my other e bikes… meelod is preordering on the 52 volt version of the xt 600 dual 1000 watts motors not sure what the dl stands for.
@@maximumchargeEV try to do more off-roading but I have steep hills in my neighborhood that are crazy big and some off road trails I might ride, might get the talaria xxx but if I get pulled over I’m screwed because I’m about to turn 16 and I’m broke
@@maximumchargeEV We also offer new aftermarket Tapia seat that raises the riding position by 2 inches to 35 inches from the ground versus 33 inches for the stock seat.
lol yes true. Downhill speeds aren't the most useful thing in the world. It's good to see how close you can get to the max rpm of the motor under no load. But yes technically terminal velocity is the downhill speed of all ebikes.
8:34 The suspension shouldn't sag that much when you sit down, and it's bottoming out at 8:57 because you don't have it properly adjusted for your weight. It's user error, not a design flaw. 39:40 You specifically mentioned the optional 4" handlebar riser option at 12:15, so I'm not sure why you're complaining about the riding position/handlebar height knowing that they offer a fix. 41:03 Durability is excellent... 27:57 if you don't mind replacing a brake lever anytime you fall from a near standstill. 🤣
So on the hill test you do a sideways run up now🤷♂️ in the past it was hit the trottle from the base.. those numbers are skewed in favor of all the bikes with the flat run-up.
I've thought about it and I don't think I will be doing that test. Takes too much time and its not safe. Best I can do is a dark room with the Headlight on. Maybe someone else will ride this at night and test it.
Good deal on that with the brakes and suspension for this price. It would probably start out faster but I believe the Kepler takes it after 30 seconds in a drag race. 😁👍
yeah lots of these bikes share similar component. Thankfully the motor and controller are unique on this one and it give it a lot of torque, way more than any other single motor 52v I've tested.
I can buy this bike for 1,500 in the UK which is a deal I can’t refuse. It’s abuse the same price I payed for my 750w bike. But I also have a talaria but that’s not as cheap as this. This I will put in my basket and will buy at some point. Being shipping from America……I’m going to guess it will take a few weeks to arrive.
@@maximumchargeEV Yup I searched description first but not found it. There are two songs but none of these is that first one. By first I mean from the first seconds of clip
Your rear brake is actually the most important, if you only use the front at some point you will need to quick stop and end up flying over the handlebar causing serious injury.
OMG! nice review on this bike. Once they said, only a bike is rated as good when it can easily take a steep hill [32:44] without a momentum but for this one ...FAIL! Too bad actually. I had expected a lil more. The suspension is A+ tier but all other specs/parts are not really convincing to me. Pretty common.
Thanks! doing that hill throttle only is insane. I'll have to try my 5000+ watt dual motor bike since that could power up, or something torqued down low like a mid drive would crawl up that.

Thank you! Will you put your order in so it's ready for May?
@@maximumchargeEV I have had terrible experiences the three times I have paid for back-orders. So I'll have to pass, especially since I have the patience of a race horse that has to piss.
@MortimerEsq ooof sorry to hear that man. What were your bad experiences like?
I'm likin the numbers a bit, yet I'd probably like a higher voltage battery for more range. By the way, in good weather I don't see much need for a front fender.
makes sense. Probably would hit 35mph in warmer weather yes.
Would you buy this or motor goat v3?
If I did a lot of off roading I would get the ghostcat
On motorcycles you use both brakes evenly so you don’t grab all front brake and do as you did. You NEVER want to use just the front.. back is more important and forgiving. It’s not a 🚘 where front is most important.
makes sense! The brakes on this bike are very grabby, almost TOO good.
What are some ebikes you'd recommend for commuting 20 miles with some good power looking to spend around 2500-2700
That's a pretty good budget. How fast do you want to go? Join my Facebook group ebike Addicts for further discussion
Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate your viewership
Great video work day 1 and day 2 nice...
Magic!
Is there a trick to adjusting hydraulic brakes? Do they need to be bled like car brakes?
sometimes they need to be bled, but that's rare. Adjusting the caliper is pretty easy.
Amazing bike, great review👍
Thanks!
Looks amazing! I wish it had the front wheel drive hub.
Would be way too heavy.
I love seeing the GOAT in first place for everything.....
Range sux tho or I’d be all about it
Guy just did a test at 47 miles with 2 batteries..
Time to stop at the nearest bike shop for a new brake handle
WANT!
This vs Billy Goat? Which is more enjoyable and which is better for what?
if I'm going off roading and/or want something light weight this is better.
No hablo Español amigo
@@maximumchargeEV 🤣🤣🤣 not bad at all haha.
When and where will I be able to buy a spare battery? And how much will it cost?
please double check with customer support, they will have an accurate answer for you.
Not sure if they will be upgrading this model but they did upgrade the xt600dl to 52v so that should go faster.
im 6'2 with 193 pounds would i be able to ride it???
Weight wise you're okay but at your height the bike would feel small. Not sure if you would be okay with that
Excellent from the U.K.🎉
Brother are you near the worcester area. I'm from springfield.
I'm in the central CT area.
specs look good but not a fan of the smaller tire diameter moped design base , diggin my meelod dm xt 600… puttin some riser bars on the meelod with 12 degree swept back because my wrists were aching bad.
very cool!
@@maximumchargeEV great vids … after buying the dual motor , never going back to the singles, the hill climbing of the meelod is so much better than my other e bikes… meelod is preordering on the 52 volt version of the xt 600 dual 1000 watts motors not sure what the dl stands for.
That is the exact same rear shock that is used on the Surrons, and a few other bikes.
Where I can buy this kind ebike. How much?
There's a link at the top of the description.
The bike looks so comfy, I would love to try but not sure if to buy it. 30m/h feels kinda slow bike.
It goes pretty fast for a 52v system, but feels like it has the torque of a 60v system.
I guess this is what I need….
I have an electric bike and a talaria but I could do with one of these with peddles.
Would be the more legal option vs the talaria!
Can I get this shipped to UK?
Great honest review! Glad u did not hurt your big Slavic Head....😁🤣😂🦵💪🚴♂️
Lol not much in there to hurt thankfully!
Should I get this or the motor goat v3?
depends on how much off roading you're going to be doing.
@@maximumchargeEV try to do more off-roading but I have steep hills in my neighborhood that are crazy big and some off road trails I might ride, might get the talaria xxx but if I get pulled over I’m screwed because I’m about to turn 16 and I’m broke
ill be using your code very soon .. im really excited $$$$
Awesome!

Am I right in thinking p14 is the max amp setting? If so shouldn’t it be set to 40?
Nah it's something else. The highest it goes is 25. Customer service would know more.
@@maximumchargeEV if it’s an m5 display then p14 is definitely the controller output value
@Fidgeycent possibly. Highest it went to was 25.
@@maximumchargeEV ahh ok, looks a class bike anyway!
Would you recommend this for rider at 6ft?
Only with the handlebar riser
@@maximumchargeEV We also offer new aftermarket Tapia seat that raises the riding position by 2 inches to 35 inches from the ground versus 33 inches for the stock seat.
I really like how this bike is built but I don't like the low handlebar. There's an optional 4" bar extension but it is still low.
info on the speed/motor controller please... i need one that supports 1500w.. !!
I have this bike it's awesome wish the crank was shorter because it's almost impossible to pedal it is so snappy
They are working to make the crank arms shorter. Maybe there's a kit they will release to fix this
@maximumchargeEV that would be awesome I personally am going to buy BMX style handlebars also to raise the height of that also
We are working on a shorter crank arm and will have a kit for existing customers,
You do know telling people the front brakes what's most important will get them hurt the quickest it'll make you wreck
Most of your braking is done by the front. Explain how that's not true.
@@maximumchargeEV Well, if you need to stop fast, you most likely will go over the handlebar… When I am braking, I use 60% front, 40% rear…
You can go a lot faster downhill at a 90-degree angle.
lol yes true. Downhill speeds aren't the most useful thing in the world. It's good to see how close you can get to the max rpm of the motor under no load. But yes technically terminal velocity is the downhill speed of all ebikes.
Lol😂😂
Put the power of the Goat bike on this frame and winner winner!
ghostcat is reading the comments :)
I really need to know for whos 5'5 would this be a good choice to commute to work thats 15 miles away at full speed?
This bike is actually pretty good for shorter riders because when you sit down on it the suspension does compress. 15 miles non stop at 35mph?
@maximumchargeEV pretty much nonstop and 30 to 35 ish
@@RedLupus unsure
@@maximumchargeEV okay then how about max speed how much range do you get
He goes both ways
So on the hill test you do a sideways run up now🤷♂️ in the past it was hit the trottle from the base.. those numbers are skewed in favor of all the bikes with the flat run-up.
I only did it from a dead stop on one bike, all the rest had a running start.
mines an aostirmotor a20 i ride in a heavy down pour of rain without covering mine it survives
What is the approximate 'Real World Range' going about 20mph? Did you test that? I haven't watched the full 44 minutes of video.
probably 35ish miles?
@@maximumchargeEV that;'s really good thank you.
Hello..
Still HAVEN'T STARTED THE NIGHT FOR LIGHT VISIBILITY TEST
I've thought about it and I don't think I will be doing that test. Takes too much time and its not safe. Best I can do is a dark room with the Headlight on. Maybe someone else will ride this at night and test it.
DO THEY MAKE AN ADULT VERSION? SURELY LOOKING AT IT, I AT 194CM WON'T FIT ON IT.
💯‼️
Good deal on that with the brakes and suspension for this price. It would probably start out faster but I believe the Kepler takes it after 30 seconds in a drag race. 😁👍
This is faster for sure than the kepler throttle only.
@@maximumchargeEV I don't know. Kepler I have does 36 mph on flat roads. 38 plus PAS
how do u program to het 35mph
Should be in the video
yeah please do I just ordered one I need the rite P Settings
I love it 😮
Thanks!
so how fast was PAS on 4 and 5?
I believe pas5 goes all the way up to top speed around 36ish mph. Not sure what pas 4 is because I don't really pedal this bike.
It's funny my gear shifter is exactly like that one and I noticed it's the same on many many bikes and it's because they're all made in China
yeah lots of these bikes share similar component. Thankfully the motor and controller are unique on this one and it give it a lot of torque, way more than any other single motor 52v I've tested.
@@maximumchargeEV come on man that thing ain't no good
Like I said I wouldn't give you $100 for that bike
sorry I have to speak the truth
God bless
I just got the bike and assembled it but it doesn’t let me go to the p settings it just says - - - -
Double check with customer service
I got the Hidose b6 pretty much same bike .
Weaker, slower, worse suspension. The frozen pizza of ebikes compared to new haven pizza.
Is this bike waterproof 🤔🤔🤔
water resistant yes, water proof no.
Love it
Hell yeah
Upgrade fenders & it WOULD be something else!! 😊
We are improving the front fender in the next batch along with shorter crank arms.
We ship direct from our factory to the UK delivery time 45 days.
Looks like the goat bike, beat it in all three categories
This bike is better in weight and suspension for sure tho
This is just a different type of bike though.
"I'm a terrible drone parent"
That was definitely the best part.
😄
what is the song from near start?
Should be in the description :)
@@maximumchargeEV Yup I searched description first but not found it. There are two songs but none of these is that first one. By first I mean from the first seconds of clip
23:04 23:07 Is this company have a Trike available?
No
Do they have a Ghostcat "Amateur" with a 500w motor and 13amp 48v system?
sacrilege!
Any idea what battery plate that is? I have the same on my X50. Looking for a better battery. It's some new Hai Long type.@@maximumchargeEV
Your rear brake is actually the most important, if you only use the front at some point you will need to quick stop and end up flying over the handlebar causing serious injury.
why would someone only use the front brake?
Most of your braking power comes from the front. Basic physics.
I recently got $1300 of tickets on my Surron. I am searching for alternative bikes.
Wow! So sorry. Where did that happen and how?
@@maximumchargeEV in BC Canada. Cops in small towns are super bored with nothing to do. I shouldn't have stopped.
OMG! nice review on this bike.
