great tutorial, i'm definitely going to go the "island" route rather than trying to make separate tiles that can interlock. i'd be interested in seeing complete boards built out, maybe with the thought process behind different table sizes, or maybe how you'd account for different unit base sizes
Wood Filler works REALLY well IMO as a cheap ground texture. Can mix in some brown paint so if any paint chips off it in the future it's not tooo obvious. - Also I imagine if you use a thicker piece of foam to begin with, you won't have those gaps.
Can the pieces be printed easily in PLA? Do they need supports or will the stl come with supports for printing in a filament printer? They look amazing!
The trench terrain set is wildly overpriced for how much extra leg work one has to do to setup their terrain. I was originally excited to see that there was going to be a trench set, but I lost all interest the moment foam cutting was in the equation. I buy 3D files so that I can just set the printer to go and forget about it. They should've just made a standalone trench set without needing all this extra crafting work.
The foam blocks are a cheap, quick way to fill up space without using tons of filament. But if you want to print everything, every slicer should have the ability to just generate rectangles that you can resize for your purposes.
Got kicked from the FB group for very very mildly criticizing an admin. Hence I didnt back the KS. Im kitbashing all my own minis or getting them from patreon/tribes and Im building my own trench terrain and table. I love the game and aesthetic and as long as the rules are free I'll keep playing but as long as I am banned from participating in the community because of prickly admins with fragile egos who refuse to engage with you AT ALL i will not financially support it in anyway.
I literally said something they did was "bad form". That was as bad as I got. Then I couldn't comment or post. When I asked what community guideline I had violated to earn such action I was banned with no discussion.
I hope for more content on the channel in the future.
Will be!!!

Spotted!!!! I've to mount it as soon as possible, for now it works as a good ruler 😂😂
Great to see as I’m printing off a bunch of trenches. Would love to see how you fill the top surface gaps.

You can print easy boxes of 4cm height or also after deciding the path of your trench you may print the related "broken line" box!
@dekopuma theres also modular full terrain trenchs from companies like Txarli Factory and such
woke
fuck yeah
