In Sly's interviews he is very articulate, he doesn't normally speak like his Rocky character at all. Frank's mocking his brother for the sake of being funny and it worked.
What do you mean sly sounds damn near the same in every character he plays. That's not just his rocky voice. Same voice as John Rambo, same voice in the expendables in later live. Yes, he was doing it for laughs. That's the point of these actors doing impersonation of other actors. For the laughs.
In 1991..I was working at a casino in Reno..and met frank..he was a trip..we talked for maybe an hour..he is a down to earth guy..didn’t care about the spot light..about 3 weeks later..frank, sly, and Sasha all came in to the casino..great guys
Interesting idea, David! Frank could have a half-hour mockumentary series on cable, similar to the late Charlie Murphy's segments on "Chappelle's Show" (the segments were titled "Charlie's Murphy's True Hollywood Stories").
Frank is always playing his glasses, as if that is his 'thing'. Oh my god, the 'travolta' shtick is freaking hilarious and true. Also a great story about persistence beats resistance.
I remember my friend appeared with a video one night in the early 90's called Lethal Games, I said "i have never heard of it whose in it?" he said Stallone, it was Frank Stallone, needless to say its one of worst films i have ever seen and i have seen a few duds.
Frank Stallone was the Kansas City "Amore" festival. Our Italian festival. He worked the crowd, made everyone feel like winner. He couldn't have been nicer. He would sit at tables and make small talk.
Its kinda cool when the older not so in demand anymore actors come to those festivals like that. We have a st Patty's day parade every year in hot springs ar. In the last couple ones we had Gary Busey one year and the last one was Ralph Machio. I saw Gary the year he was there walked right past him. And I was hoping to see the karate kids but didn't. My wife never knows what to expect from me at any given time im prone to say or do anything. My plan was if I saw him I was going to jump into the crane stance. 😆 I'm sure he probably gets that alot but my wife woulda fell out over that. One time we were leaving wal mart and I had a case of drinks in my arm I saw the old guy checking receipts ahead and I devised a plan. I walked ahead of my wife a little and as I walked past he said sir can i see your receipt please. I snapped my head his way got big eyed and bolted out the door like I was stealing them. Just as he starts yelling about me stealing drinks my wife said sir he didn't steal them heres the receipt im sorry my husband was dropped on his head as a child several time i would guess...
That clip never gets old. It’s a real quick peek at the egos and and insanity of the movie business. But frank impersonation of Travolta and Sly straight crazy.
Frank is the man! His visits to Norman's Rare Guitars are always a highlight and Norm loves him and they go way back. Frank is one hell of a player and singer as well. As evidenced by having 11 songs in that movie. They were all pretty good too.
Frank Stallone I love "Look out for number one". That song motivates me like you can't believe. Thankyou for your fabulous music. God bless you. From a fan in South Africa.
*Staying Alive* is criminally underrated. It was a proper sequel directed by none other than Sly Stallone and Travolta gave another Oscar worthy performance as Tony Manero.
Hilarious! Frank Stallone is a legend! My only quibble about this clip is that Tai Babilonia's laugh tends to dominate the interview...other than that, this was a highly entertaining interview.
@Charles.... I always watch him before on TrueTV with the all washed-up Leif Garret: Tonya Harding; Todd Bridges, etc... He was always funny when he appears to give his take or something. Hilarious that guy!...
He's heavily underrated and very talented. I certainly think having Sly for a brother was a blessing and a curse for his career. Sly gave him some breaks with Rocky (he wrote the street singers song) and Staying Alive, but Frank always produced the goods. Far from over could have been a Rocky track IMO.

@@Brad772006 if folks are watching this video and they don’t know who Frank Stallone is, it once again proves my old theory... Germans love David Hasselhoff!
oh come on ... but fair point in regard of the botched foreceps delivery, which gave Sly his look. If that had been done right, they would look even more alike.
Frank has always been an underrated talent and he has a great sense of humor. Often his movie and tv cameos are of him being self deprecating and funny as fuk! Great to get the back story and one in which he wins the day lol!!
What a character and story teller. Didn't expect that from a Hollywood type but he was exceptional and really talented. His self deprecating humour couple by his outstanding success made it very funny.
Oh WOW! Simply fantastic! Cool great talented guy with a lot of humor. Hilariously funny! Thanks a lot for taping editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health.
Came here for the impression, stayed back for the great attitude. Such a brilliant guy.
This guy is hilarious. Took a gulp of beer at the first sly impersonation. Busted laughing and blew it all over my lap. The bastard owes me a keypad.
Hahahahahaha!!!!
I'm so glad they picked his songs. I love the movie because of his songs.
Never really knew how funny and talented Frank is.

One of the more entertaining interviews I've seen on any television program in a long time.
In Sly's interviews he is very articulate, he doesn't normally speak like his Rocky character at all. Frank's mocking his brother for the sake of being funny and it worked.
...or so the Germans would have you believe.
I think everyone knows Sly isn't stupid. He's written tons of movies himself.
You have the right and obligation to troll your brother in the best possible way.
Travolta however, is a bit of a moron.
What do you mean sly sounds damn near the same in every character he plays. That's not just his rocky voice. Same voice as John Rambo, same voice in the expendables in later live. Yes, he was doing it for laughs. That's the point of these actors doing impersonation of other actors. For the laughs.

She's hot for Frank. Did nothing when he patted her on her bare knee multiple times.

He could narrate documentaries on the new York mob or the rat pack on history channel

Yes he can impersonate his bro like nobody else, but his guitar playing is unbelievable.
And singing AND songwriting, I might add!!!
Dude!!! Frank just became one of my favorite people ever!!! He just seems like a really really cool guy who can just tell you story after story!!
Really funny story and an even funnier explanation about how he (Frank) got such a huge break in Staying Alive!😆
Frank Stallone looks like Bruce Campbell playing Sylvester Stallone in a biopic.
