@ do you have Facebook or Instagram? I asked because I personally would love to contact you. Just like you I love collecting different Bible translations.
Also finding a Bible with commentary or notes, devotions, ect…from someone you enjoy hearing preach, or teach and agree with helps a lot with studying the Bible no matter the translation it is. Or just a regular Bible with a good commentary. It never gets boring.
Loved this informative video! I found I totally agree with you, too! CSB is my favorite for two years now. I do love many others, though. How wonderful it is for me to compare them. Most of the people in my church seem to favor the ESV, but it just doesn't feel quite as comfortable for me to read as the CSB. This was such a fun video. Thank you. God bless you!
I love the Bible I have them in about every translation, just a couple I don’t have because I don’t find them interesting or annoying with the words they use. I will never get the massage, the passion, or the mirror translations I really don’t find those Biblical at all. I did get a chronological NLT study Bible I want to start and finish in 2025. But there is a translation out there for everyone and it makes the Bible so versatile, fun to read, and understand.
I hail from southern Mississippi, so naturally I was heavily inundated with KJV Only-ism for all of my God allotted life. However, after recently being delivered from over a decade of severe backsliding (all glory to our Rock!! ♡), I reembarked on a new Bible journey. I wanted to actually be edified from The Word, not to just merely recite Proverbs verses ad nauseam as I did in VBS (Ramblin’ Road Trip kid here xD). So I dove into my moms’ old Amplified Bible, & In doing so, I can say unequivocally that this translation has immensely changed my relationship with God. Before I was born again, I didn’t even remotely perceive or comprehend much of anything in The Word. But this… it just clicks with my brain so seamlessly, and the extra translations/exegesis which is implemented around The Scripture is so helpful for me. It’s like a mini Bible lesson to accompany our Beautiful Gods’ Word! I always pray for discernment though, and still refer to other translations to keep my mind healthy. But I always find myself returning to that Amp Bible. I’m just so thankful I was given a 2nd chance by Him to try to comprehend His Word before it was too late. I can’t wait to bow in His Courts, eternally praising Him & The Lamb, who selflessly absorbed the punishment I deserved for my wickedness to allow me to even be in the presence of Him when the time comes. I love you Jesus ~
From several comments you made on why you like different translations, I would like to humble suggest you try the Berean Standard Bible. It's a comfortable read like the CSB, but a bit more word for word like the ESV. It can be found freely online so you can compare it
Thank you! Just from a quick read through of some of my favorite chapters, it really does sound like the CSB. Even moreso, to me, like the NIV!! I really couldn't tell a difference between the two when reading each separately, only side by side. How fun, thank you for showing it to me.
I love all of them, lol. I did kinda settle on the Niv. If I study, I do the kjv because there are 100s of years of resources. I always find myself using the kjv, which is my standard comparison to what every other bible says. I'm used to its language. The drawback to kjv is that you have to know your words and its language very well to get anything out of it. Which turns a lot of people off. I get it. For reading, I like Niv.The Nlt is very easy to read and simple. I do like Csb. It's good as well. Nasb is good since recent l alexandria scrolls. Esv ain't too bad most of my esv consumption comes from esv study bible just because it has so much resource material in the back thats very nice. I also understand the appeal of the amp and I like it also. My only complaint on it. It overuses the same terminology way too much. Sometimes the same [definition so to speak] well be the same one used like 3 to 4 times even on the same page. I tell ya what a good kjv I found was a kjv that shows the sword on the front cover its actually a its called kjver study bible. Its pretty interesting it even has all of Gods words He spoke in the OT in Red! Which is very interesting and nice. Also has alot of underlining in it similar to the AMP. I got a leatherbound one for about 60 something on amazon. It has some cool stuff in the back as well. God bless dear keep up that reading heh!
This year I'm using the Amp for general study and devo. The Messege for reading time only, I really wanted something I could just sit and read like a novel. The Nasb is my forever go to translation. I've never been a fan of the Csb, though I do like the Nlt.
I picked NKJV as my daily reader with NASB95/LSB as my study bible. Something that might shock you but as of recently, I have noticed many people pointing out that the NKJV is more literal than the NASB95 because often times NASB puts the more literal rendering in the footnotes and NKJV keeps most of the classic idioms. I also like the poetry and prayers just stand out more (An easy example to analyze would be Jonah Chapter 2 while he's praying in the Belly of the Fish). Only downside, many claim the NKJV uses inferior manuscripts. Both the NKJV and NASB95 are frozen from textual updates so as you memorize text, its just going to be the same where CSB, ESV, etc will all update their text (Which is good and bad for different reasons).
@ Tim wildsmith who does the book called Bible translations, R Grant Jones TH-cam channel (which he does go deep into Bible translation reviews) , and some church websites who document their process for picking up translations have pointed it out NKJV being more literal. But honestly CSB is pretty good, it’s very readable. I could read it for hours.
NLT will always be my favorite, bc it is so easy to understand and it's wonderful for new Bible readers. MY second choice is the AMP. I have an NIV which was kinda ok, then onto a CSB, which was a little more likeable to me. I cannot read KJV, but this upcoming year, I think I am leaning towards NKJV.
That's so relatable. Last night I was reading the NKJV alongside the NLT and it was a nice pairing! I wish I could make a custom parallel bible for myself 😄
Awwwww I'm a little bummed. I was rooting for the NASB 😂 It's my pick for 2025 personally. I tried the CSB a few years ago and it didn't flow right in my head. It seemed kinda odd but I hope it works for you. ❤
I love this little game!! I started reading the Bible cover to cover chronologically this year in the CSB. So I will continue in my CSB but I’m also replacing my Life Application Bible in the NLT for the large print version for next year. I recently bought a thin NASB large print to carry to church.
Thank you for sharing! I have the NLT Life Application study bible on kindle and love it! What chronological do you use? I'm looking around at one for my daughter to use!

The CEB is so different than all the other bibles. And it's not always easier to understand. Like, they keep the word kikkars for weight of gold but the NLT doesn't, it uses pounds or tons! But, one of my favorite things the CEB does, which might sound so silly, is use son and grandson when introducing new kings and people in the Old Testament history books. I used to write that kind of note in the margin of my ESV to keep track. However, it doesn't list each new person in a new paragraph like the NIV and CSB do!
