Is India's Economic Boom Real For YOU?? | Akash Banerjee & Manjul

  • JPMorgan’s MD today made a 'bold' forecast - that India will become 3rd largest economy in the world by 2027 & size of our economy will reach $7 trillion by 2030. While much of that will be driven by the massive size of our population - what does this spectacular achievement mean for the average Indian who's only seeing shrinking savings / lesser jobs / more inflation / less manufacturing. Even if India does a 8% growth for 4 years in a row and becomes No3 in the world - Where will it take you?

why do you mock only Modi for this situation? Why not those who were in power for 70 years. It’s not like income disparity happened in just last 9 years. I sense propaganda in your way of talking.
This income disparity has direct relation with 1991 LPG reforms. It is inevitable.

I am in textile business. Your datas are true. Post covid there is sharp decline in sales & thousands of textile factories has been closed around tamilnadu, surat & west bengal. Only factories with large capital are sustaining reducing their 50-60% work. N.o of domestic brands has increased but sales doesn't happen in both online & offline. When enquired the reason with many retail outlets & wholesalers found out consumer purchase have reduced due to their unwillingness to spend.

Being in CA fraternity I've personally seen growth of 2-3 business companies, who has started with with online retailing and now they have vertically integrated to manufacturing and doing good. The main common thing was between them that they have done really good in marketing. And I've also seen 2-3 businesses who started with manufacturing and initially they did well but fall down to ground and the reason I found out the same, they have not worked on marketing. So in industry of large competition Marketing is necessary. Coz now a days "what you sell is not important but how you sell is the most important". It's sad but it's true, you have to spend on advertisement and marketing. And yes all the previous mentioned companies were of mid cap investment companies. But the smart campaigning strategy worked out

Two observations. First, nobody can actually stop India from becoming the third largest economy, the arguments are only about when. Second, By PPP, we're already the third largest Economy. The rich vs poor argument, though, can easily be sorted out if we figure out how to plug MSMEs into the supplychains of large conglomerates as in the case of Japan, Germany or South Korea and take a hard look at Farming supplychains.

@@thedeshbhakt amusing, but by nature I'd rather look at solutions and fail fast than to endlessly criticise somebody because at the scale of any large economy, there are a billion things which can be criticised. Everyone is a critic, very few rise about that and provide solutions.
To be fair to your point of view, you did identify what's lacking and important for India: better distribution of jobs/employment opportunities and income to the bottom 40-50% of the population and especially those in rural areas or in Agriculture. That should be the focus because even a small increase of those incomes makes a huge increase in consumption and therefore growth.
P.s.: If you were all biased or third rate, I wouldn't be listening. I do like commenting though, so

Ek ye bhi fact hai ki jaise jaise logo me credit card aur loan ka prachalan badha hai aur logo ki savings down hoti gayi hai. In real life i've observed that no matters how much a person earns he/she is still in the CC/Loan trap. Ye bada dangerous hai. Easy access of borrowing leads to unnecessary buying of many things that we don't require. Plus now a days, expenses per house hold have been increased too, just take simple example with rise of internet and mobile phones. Jahan pure mohalle ka ek hi landline hua karta tha waha ab har members ke liye ek mobile phone aur phir sabka recharge. Phir sabke liye alag se subscription. Ye sab chhote chhote kharche hain jo logo ko dikhte ni hai aur ye humare jeb se nikal Gaye hain. Marketing has been smart which attack on our pockets and individual has not been that smart ki unko realise ho sake ki wo kya kharide aur kya ni?

Tax is high in a country like india, where the health care, education and Housing sector is completely under private industries. Yes as an indian we should save money from our income and invest for future savings/ retirement, but the real issue is despite saving and investment (which i do about 45% every month), the yearly salary for most professionals are low, as there has been no salary increment for the past 5 years from 2019 for most most professionals in India. Also there has been to many layoffs in private sector for the past 3 years. Last year several popular tech companies like google, microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, TCS had made employee layoffs and no freshers were recruited. The Indian inflation is close to 54% (direct + indirect inflation), for the past 3 years which is huge compared to inflation before 2020 (covid). The real estate, medical and consumer sector had the highest inflation if you actually check the real time cost in your location and other states in india.

    Dear Sir
The key word is "Well being " of each and every citizen.
All things today are being done to give a feeling that our country is good position but not us.
Building a tallest statue, renaming a railway station or road, shifting a army memorial, flagging off several semi high speed Train18, building a new parliament bldg, creating great four lane six lane road or just for the sake of it not to provide well being of citizen.
Tallest statue cannot be visited by even 10 Percent of citizen, whether one calls it Rajpath or Karthavya path, every year people are going to watch same parade.
How many can afford to travel by Train18?
What are the new trains for common man?
Where are the industries? How many new industries created in a decade?
But everyone knows how many lost jobs in industries and no replacement for the retired people.
Are they not being replaced by temporary jobs on contractual basis, including in armed forces?
Make in India is just in words but not in practice. In past years 90s we have foreign currency problem, industries were told to indegenise products and components, Maruti is an great example, steel manufacturing, local power equipments, higher HP railway engines are also good examples.
But what is going on now is just a perception game by hiding real data or burying data.

Ambani and Adani's wealth depends on share prices of their companies. I think Wealth measurement on the basis of share price is misleading. More so because when they control very large equity stake.
But your analysis is good. Worth thinking.. However one must take into account the fact that young earning generation is investing more money in assets such as equity shares, mutual funds, insurance products, real estate- housing, gold -silver etc and is also spending more. One spends more only if he is confident of his economic future. Many young earners are also investing money in start-ups. RBI report does not take that into account.
Plz watch CNBC report on the subject also.

Regardless of India's GDP growth or other factors, I don't mind. India may progress, but there are certain aspects that are unlikely to change for the better. Countries like Norway, Finland, and Denmark are indeed very good countries, and they are expected to remain so. You can look up any information on the internet, and you'll find these countries consistently ranking in the top 7.

They will keep talking of trillion economy and fool all people all the time. At best, once you earn lots of money, you can return to your town in India and if you are very altruistic, do good to the poor around you. Even then, political and other goons will disturb you, but you should be brave . Please note even if you return after 30 years, the people here will be very poor, whichever is the government, and you will have ample opportunities to help the needy.
