Then, SIL told him the news about the adoption and Hubby's blindness and BIL tried to self delete again and failed (He opened up both of his arms and now they are rewiring his wrists to not not lose the hands). The last call, op and hubby were with her and op laughed hard like 30 seconds. SIL got mad and Hubby told her that was an AH move. So she made another AITA post.
Damn, I get OPs side, I kinda wish MIL said something like "there's some stuff going on" because her son is still dying and she if she misses it she would feel horrible, but also, that's a completely different situation involving more people so... It's complex
I’m sorry but OP is saying MIL and SIL had no excuse to keep that info from them but as someone who was in an abusive marriage it is 100% necessary to keep any plans of escape within a very small trusted group that being only one other person usually the person going to help you get out. That’s for the safety of everyone including the victims. Op needs to come off it
That would be true, if her husband wasn’t going through life threatening medical problems. The dude has been deteriorating quickly, and his mother has been completely MIA for the whole process. Understanding why could have helped mitigate the husbands hurt feelings, because as it was the husband basically felt like his own mother didn’t care that he was dying. MIL decided to put her grandson above her dying son when there was no need to do so
If OP wasn't worried about her husband dying and wanting his mother to give a fck, I'd agree. But OP at least clearly doesn't like or hates her BIL. She wasn't likely to tell him, and it would have given her a reason to make excuses for MIL at the very least, not telling husband so as to not burden him. It's good SIL and niece are working towards getting away from the abuse but the world doesn't stop just for abuse victims. They had other options for going about this that would have never gotten back to BIL.
I'm not going to lie I don't understand why the sister-in-law that last part of the post is giving the original poster so much shit just because the brother-in-law almost took his life which he should do everybody a favor and just do that because he's a piece of shit that's far too gone thanks to Mommy constantly letting his behavior go on check and not disciplining his ass on it
So let me get this straight, OP is painting the MIL as the narcissist and neglectful mother for the first half of the story, only to go on the second half saying how much she's helped them? And OP treats her like shit because she had a priority at the moment which was to placate her useless son to protect her DIL and grandaughter only to blame them again completely for what happened? Bruh? OP has a massive main character syndrome and needs to realize a woman can only do so much and this is explicitly none of their fault. A normal seizure couldve caused all of what the husband is going through so OP needs to stop being a dick
