I was told that the MAF sensor was bad and it needs replacement. Nissan stated +$500 for (ON) part alone, the AN part I found was $110. When I asked if it could be cleaned...well you guessed it; answer was no. Thanks for the video!
thanks man i explain my problem to my mechanic about my dirt MAF sensor and i ask him how much it would cost me to clean it and he told me 150 and i was about to pay it cause the car hesitation while accelerating was really annoying but thanks to you and your vid i did it my self and save my money thanks again
since you had it apart to clean the MAF I always clean the throttle bottle as well since all it requires it loosening one more clamp and pulling off the remaining hose to the throttle bottle. That way you get two things done while you're at it. Chances are if the MAF is dirty the throttle body is even dirtier.
Hi I own a Nissan micra 1.0 coil pack version year 2000.The car cut out in heavy traffic and the engine management light came on.It had a mind of its own one minute the engine light was on the next it went off. I hooked it up to the computer and was getting code p0100 ( mass or volume air flow circuit malfunction) so I cleaned the sensor. Ran it for a while but was still getting same problem.I bought original bosch sensor was working great done 100 miles and then the car cut out on a roundabout :/ I put it back on the computer and its giving me fault code p0100 again.Fuel consumption seems normal, cant find any air leaks and other then this engine runs okay.Wondering if you can give me any advice/help.Regards sean.
You can also use electrical contact cleaner. DO NOT use petroleum based cleaners, oils, lubricants etc. These will attract dirt and dust particles, and you'll have the same problems all over again.
if u got a 2000 plus Altima you can use the MAF from a 98 Altima, just ignore the two extra plugs that you may see mounted on the MAF Body to the right .The extra plugs are green and grey in color. 2000 Altima does not need a boost sensor circuit. I am assuming you are getting your MAF from a junk yard like I did mine. bought a car from the junk yard that was junked due to "service engine soon" light. I ran the obdc got the MAF Sensor alert and nothing else. put a free junk yard maf.light gone
Great video, do you know the name of the small C-Shaped hose that is connecting from the Maf to the engine head piece? I need help with the correct name or a way to replace it. THANKS!!
A picture, or video, is worth a thousand words. I learned something on this one. Thanks.

Buena Suerte.
This helps alot, i drive a 99 se plan on cleaning my maf tomorrow! Thanks.
I like this video but the absence of commentary drives me crazy lol
I, I'd chuckle on how suspicious it all was..,
thier are crooked mechanics everywhere! Don't be a sucker and learn how to fix things yourself! Save money and keep your car running well!
Its recommended to clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor every time you change the air filter.
After spraying it
Do u wipe it down with a towel or just let it air dry
I thought he would finish with a "tadahh!"

We got P0171 code so we went for it. Code has not recurred and process seemed to help with vehicle performance.
Thx Roluardo, but I live in Mexico, only autozone :( think that'll work?

Will WD40 oil work to do this?
No
It worked pretty well on my ford fiesta 1998 1.0, so i can say that you can try it as well ;)
lol
Will strip the teflon off the MAF. Dont use WD40
Cool! Now you can use that money towards someone special on Valentine's Day!
da fehlt nur noch die passende Musik dazu Zum Beispiel aus einem Hitchcock-Film
