Man I love this guy!! He helped me through high school and college and now I'm a high school math teacher and I go back to your videos to find good and easy ways to help my students understand! You're the best!
how the heck does his guy explain this in 14 mins. but i understand but when i'm in class for 45 mins. i don't understand anything?😭💀 the power of youtube.
Thank you so much. My teacher is on paternity leave, and he's left us with a horrible substitute who is indirectly calling us stupid because we can't understand his super-fast talking. I get it now. Again, thank you for this informative video, it's helped me a lot.
Thank you sooo much. My teacher just handed us a page of formulas and then gave us questions and said "its easy". I sat there the whole period not knowing what to do. This makes wayyy more sense now. Thanks!
Thank you so much. i'm in a class room for 1 hour and 30 minutes every 2 days and i couldnt understand anything. this is what we need, shortcuts, perfect. Your a great teacher btw
I just wanted to thank you so very much for your videos! You are an awesome teacher. I have been watching your videos since math 38, math 96, and now I'm taking trig and stat this semester! You have been the one constant throughout my semesters that I know I can turn to for clarification. Thanks again friend.
@amjPeace yes, for a right triangle, it is possible to have two sides of length 3 and 4, and the hypotenuse length 5 since those satisfy the pythagorean theorem: 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2 the numbers 3, 4, 5, are sometimes referred to as a 'Pythagorean Triple' because of this. There are others of course! For example: 5 ^ 2 + 12 ^ 2 = 13 ^ 2 so that 5, 12, 13 are another 'Pythagorean Triple'
I know I’m super late, I’m going into 8th grade while taking a summer course for algebra 2 trig next year, my teacher sent 2 videos and I watched the first one, I was so confused. Thank the lords that your video was also there, you cleared up all the questions I had and now I’m stress free, thank you so much
Thank you very much. I'm new to tutoring SAT Math and was never taught this. This has greatly improved my confidence since my students are top 10 and just need extra practice.
This video proved to be very useful to me.During my GRE preparation,I stuck at 30-60-90 degree right triangle;now I've a clear idea about how to crack these problems. Many thanks.
Great explanation of the origins of these special right triangles. I agree with your comment about understanding being more important than memorization. I encourage my students to do the same. Ps...I post your videos from time to time on my website for students to defer to for additional help if they need it on assignments. I've had good feedback from those who take the time to watch them. Thank you very much for the work you put into making these, and for making them easily accessible.
Oh yes! I remember now! We were taught to recognize when a triangle was a multiple of a 3-4-5. For instance 6^2+8^2=10^2. And 9^2+12^2=15^2. What a blast from the past! And I had completely forgotten about 5-12-13 triangles. Please keep on doing what you're doing, PatrickJMT! I can't thank you enough.
Helped me a lot! Glad that I tried to look on TH-cam for some math tips, and this is just what I was hoping to find! Hope that I can pass my math quiz in 2 days, and test after Christmas break, many thanks Patrick, have a merry Christmas!
Thank you so so so much. Geometry has been so hard this year. I have been giving up. Now, I'm not giving up anymore, but I have a 68 in geometry right now and really need to bring it up. What you teach makes so much sense! Thank you so much! I wish that you were my math tutor.
hey i just wanted to say thank you for your time and effort to make this video..and ignore cascaso's comment...you are truly right about people blaming other's for their stupidity
Thank you sooooo much!!!! This really really helped me. I took Geometry 2 years ago and now it showed back up in Algebra III for review and by now I've forgotten how to do these. I was really confused about why these triangles had random numbers like -"a" radical 3- until u explained why to use those specific numbers. So once again, thank you very much! The examples helped a lot too :D
Ill rather Have 3 hours in a geometry class and learn than to have 1 hour and not learn anything.. Thanks Alot patrick! You make this so much easier! :D
I left my geometry class during lesson to talk to my counselor and missed it. When I saw the Hw I didnt have one clue what to do and this video helped me alot Your a lifesaver.
Thanks for the video, this was really helpful. Instead of getting a full hour of this lesson and by the end being confused, I know whats going on in just less then 15min. Thanks
Nice job explaining! =D u saved my life! Havin a midterm tmrow and i thought I have to study for like 3 hours, but this 13 minutes video helped me alot!
Thank you so much! My geometry teacher has anger management problems, and even though he insists we ask questions, if we actually do he usually gets angry and starts yelling. So you've saved me the torture. :)
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANKS A BUNCH! I FINALLT GET IT! I EVEN GET WHERE EVERYTHING CAME FROM! I keep forgetting to use what I already know to make complicated things less complicated, I really need to know that more often. THANKS!
i feel so stupid i get most of the things but this took me like 3+ lessons to get. I usually get everything the first time but this really got me, no idea why.
thank you so much i am a senior in high school and i am struggling through geometry( i swear there are even 8th graders who do better thane me in their) this has helped me so much. hi five bro
i cant believe how easy this is when you are expaining it. why my teacher "taught" it she was terrible at explaining it and no one in the class could figure this out

Wow it has been 4 years since this comment was posted, how's it going?

So true!
No It's the power of a good teacher
HowTooHandy Handyman I think he means the power of TH-cam as a platform
A combination of mind set and Good teacher
It's because the teacher never gets straight to the point qq

happy i could help. come back any time and spread the word!
Hey, at least your sub tried to teach. My history sub fell asleep for half an hour!!! Kids were taking selfies with him.
glad i could help :)
I got an ad that said "Watching TH-cam for help with math? Still have no luck in math class?"
Same, but I skipped for this :'D
An infant could learn this. the way you're teaching.
just trying to finally get some geometry stuff out there. hope it is useful

Lol, I love my geometry teacher but you should be my teacher!
The 119 dislikes are people who are simply triggered that they can't understand it. :V

Dude, I love how you teach why these relationships are what they are instead of just telling us how to use them. More why less how! Awesome stuff man.
This video was so helpful to me after I legit cried about these triangles 🌚
i wish you were my teacher :(
I wish i was in your class.

@HectorL360 i always have to watch stuff about 10 times, so do not worry; it is normal.

Wow! Amazing! I never understood special rights and I thought I was going to fail my geometry final tomorrow but not anymore! Thank you so much.
FINALLY! Someone explaining logically the 30-60-90 without asking me to memorize. THANK YOU!
you are most welcome!
This is what school should be like. Ive learned so much more in 13 minutes than i have this entire school year in geometry. THANK YOU.

This was literally the only thing I was struggling with in geometry, my teachers was doing the rule as X:X:X√2 instead of a²+a²=c²
Thanks this really helped me brush up on my special right triangles.
