    That kid can flat out play ball. He does everything. He scores, pass, blocks shots, grabs rebounds, starts the fast break with the outlet pass, and finishes the fastbreak with a dunk. He is quick off the dribble and can take it to the basket. He has the footwork in the paint and can score in the post. He can shoot from behind the arc. He is a complete basketball player and one of the most fundamental players I've seen in a long time since Len Bias, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. He is very talented and is capable of putting up triple-double numbers.

    Bird was one of the greatest, and he was surrounded by 4 other great players in the mid-80's. It will be interesting to see Flagg playing with some talent at guard and center that will let him do his thing from anywhere on the court. But, to follow in Larry's footsteps he has to develop toughness, the step-back jumper and the three, since he will be up against superb defensive players who are bigger, faster, better at the next level. And he has to stay free from major injury. I wish him great success.

    I'm not usually the type of person to hype someone up cause just cause they're white and can play decent basketball. However, this guy's shot is silky smooth, plays high IQ defense, has great playmaking and facilitation, he also has great size and Isn't a super lanky injury prone type. Definitely coukd see him being a top pick going forward and if he grows a couple more inches it's game over if he can stay healthy. Feels like a mix of KD with the jump shot and dribble penetration, and AD on the glass. I think he needs to add post up moves and fadeaway to his arsenal, it seems like it isn't part of his game cause no one he's playing against is his size

Ranking absolutely matters or they wouldn't do it for the NBA lottery and draft. Or high school to college. It starts earlier than "the NBA draft year". For example Wembanyama is the #1 ranked player in the world this year and easy consensus #1 pick. Cooper Flagg is the #1 or 2 ranked player his age (this year as a sophomore) for the class of 2025. He was ranked #1-3 last year as a Freshman as well. Now that doesn't mean he will still be ranked as high in 3 more years when he will be eligible for the NBA draft. But right now that's where he's currently ranked.

      @@fredtowns78 Bird was not as athletic, Bird had a massive Basketball IQ… He became “Larry Legend” because of his ability to read the game. His passes, his 3-point prowess and his ability to strategically bring the game to life were his strengths. Even Larry admitted he could not run or jump, so he needed to be really good at other things.
      This kid is athletic and he very literally uses his body to create plays… These are the fundamental differences between he and Bird. Bird was not able to use athleticism and his body to create plays, instead he used his mind and his precision.

    • @jobasucks
      @jobasucks ปีที่แล้ว

      Because he is full of talent. As a sophomore at Montverde, he held his own on a stacked team. The teams he’s playing against in this video are not “bums from Maine,” and his home high school (Nokomis) lost in the first round of the playoffs - they didn’t “make states.”

    • @student40008
      @student40008 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jobasucks No offense but those teams he's playing against are absolutely not too great in terms of skill. They do no fakes, no threes, no spot ups or jumpshots, they just do straight layups right into him so he can get an easy block. Their basketball iq seems extremely lacking especially for seniors. Even their defense is lacking, they should have been trying to draw the charge on him or do a hard foul on him and not let him get easy dunks.
      Also they aren't tall or strong. He's like 6'6 right? Yet it seems he's the biggest guy in every highlight in this video. That's very odd considering there's many hs basketball players from all around the world who are just as tall as that or taller. Maybe he should come play in Cali, and play against some bigger more athletic guys?
