- Cooper Flagg is the unanimous #1 ranked player in high school basketball. The hooper nicknamed the "Maine Event" led his 16U Maine United EYBL squad on a legendary Peach Jam run this summer. He followed that up with a perfect 33-0 National Championship winning season at Montverde. The Duke commit put on a show in his final year of high school.

I saw him play in Maine earlier this year against a top-ranked team in the country, and he made them look like your average small town high school team!
On a court full of division 1 players. He looked like an NBA All-Star in comparison!
The sky is the limit for this kid and I am rooting for him! 💪

The game was absolutely electric as the hometown crowd went crazy every time he did something exciting.
7'4" wingspan at 6'9" with 40" vertical.. The kid is a top-tier athlete with NBA size and athleticism. RARE defensive instincts make him a generational talent...

So I've heard a lot about this kid, and he looks good and athletic with good defensive instincts. But will he translate to the NBA, he doesn't seem to be much of a shooter, so how much value does a 6'9 wing defender have in the league. He currently looks like a 3&D wing, minus the 3. Not really all that valuable in today's NBA.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but off this mix tape, I'm not sure I see the hype others seem to.
He's been scrimmaging against team USA and doing quite well. Now consider he's only 17, will grow more, improve skills and gain muscle. He's perfect for the NBA.
His shot is not bad but it needs work. It doesn’t matter though he is one of those rare players who is so athletic and dominant defensively and attacking the rim he’s guaranteed to be a star. Only Giannis (late bloomer) and Wemby will be clearly ahead of him in terms of physical tools/athleticism when he gets in the league. He’s 6’9 with 7’4 wingspan 40” vertical and good speed he’s like the forward version of Anthony Davis as a prospect

You hear the phrase “generational talent” get thrown around a lot, but this kid is the very definition of that! In my opinion he’s the USA’s answer to the many up and coming overseas stars.
