they should probable edit out that first move he makes on this video -- two travels. first he drags his pivot foot, then he lifts it before releasing the ball on his first dribble. oh waitl. nevermind. he does it every time -- couldn't possibly edit them all out or you'd be left with a 2 minute video. of course, joel embiid does it too so he's in good company. i guess it ain't illegal if nobody calls it.

Fifty years ago I was a skinny 6'8" sixteen year old that eventually completed my high school career with All-State worthy stats. In that era strength and conditioning for high school and college players was in the stone age compared to today. Even with that, my twenty year old self was on a totally different level of strength and skills because of that strength. Cooper should be fun to watch him continue developing. 🏀👍👍

He loves the middie out of a triple threat quite a bit in this highlight package, which is not really available or considered to be highly efficient in the NBA. But you can see with his ball-handling, pick-and-roll navigation, shooting stroke, overall athleticism, size, and court mapping that he could be a huge star. One comp I see right away is Jayson Tatum - the fluidity and economy of motion, the shooting, the 3-level scoring, the handle at this size, the athleticism. But he also has some Andrew Wiggins type athleticism and leaping ability around the basket, can clearly put pressure on the rim.

I played ball. NYC. Saw the best. He has no weakness as I can see it. Let's start with defense. He is an amazing defender - blocking the number of shots he blocks, getting steals in the open court and single handedly looking like Pete Maravich with his ball skills. Offensively, he finishes to the hoop with seemingly effortless power and speed. Can shoot from anywhere and his footwork is already stellar.

Can't determine how solid a 3 point shooter he is from this video but his release point is lower from 3 suggesting he needs to add a bit more strength to have a consistent shooting form and release point. He's a set shooter from 3 right now but if he gets strong enough to shoot at the apex of his jump he'll be unstoppable. Not a knock because he's so young... the strength should come soon. Great looking player!

It’s nice to see him play with high level and athletic guards. The guards on his Maine United team work hard, but lack the athleticism to get him the ball in good scoring positions. If you watch the MU team, Cooper all too often is with the ball at the point with the entire opposing defense focused on him. Big difference when he’s not required to do so much ball handling and he’s free to roam around. Tho the ball handling he does for MU is helping him develop an all-court game.

    Quick thoughts:
    - Plays stronger than he looks
    - Nice shot including off the dribble mid-range.
    - Okay athleticism; long arms help above-the-rim game
    - Missed some cutters and easy dimes where he scored anyway. Not enough to tell me overall, consistent, playmaking ability.
    - Can he 1 v 1 D up? Steals and blocks, sure. How are the feet when staying in front of athletes?
    Good player for sure.
