The russians had the SSh-39, SSh-40, SSh-60 and then the SSh-68 to my knowledge

It was actually replacing the SSH-60 series of helmets oof
Ssh 60 is an ssh40 shell with a similar liner to the ssh 68, you can say its and ssh 40/ssh 39 "series" helmet
