How's she goin'? The price was a 'smokin' hot ' deal eh!! I saw your nozzles and this 'Stop and Go' nozzle is wore out, so I might just try your style. I couldn't find the 'Stop and Go' ones any more. Thanks Steve and take 'er easy!!
I do like a good gas can Mike. What I bought was a battery powered fuel pump to transfer fuel from the can to the mower or tractor. Sure has been helpful and really limits the mess. Cheers and take care
How's she goin'? I have seen those battery powered pumps Lloyd. They look to be petty good. One of these days I'll have to try one and see how it works. Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? Jack I have enough fuel to last me till late February or March, but when I go to fill these cans I'll make sure I do an update. All the best to you for the New Year and take 'er easy!!
Hope the gas cans work out well. I hate the smell of gas, it really bothers me so appreciate if the cans and spouts don't leak. With all the power outages we have had recently we go through a lot of fuel for the generator. Having good cans and spouts is important. Limited stock that I can buy online at Costco but since we can't get there in person manage to get some things. Hopefully we'll be able to shop in person sometime again.
Costco runs are a monthly need to do thing for us. Just over an hour and a half on the highway to get it done. By the time we get home exhausted from a seeming all day road trip. You have a good eye for getting those new jugs. Next time we are there I am going to check them out. Thanks Nannie J. All the best for 24.
I like the old cans with the vent holes , because those self venting spouts cans are a pain, and I agree I can't type what I think of those self venting spouts. Actually I'm not a fan of those stop and go spouts either, I use to work at running around with generators during storms to keep communications networks running and used a lot of spouts , the straight spout with a vented can is THE BEST in my opinion. I didn't know Costco carried those , now I have about half dozen cans now so hard to justify getting new ones yet so I'll probably swear my way pouring for while yet LOL.
How's she goin'? I was like you and had a bunch of gas cans but these stupid self venting nozzles were such a pain I decided to pull the trigger and get some good cans. The strait nozzles are nice but when I try and pour a full jug with the strait nozzle I end up spilling a bunch of fuel. The stubby 'Stop and Go' wouldn't run fuel till you pressed it so that fixed the spilling problem for me. Thanks for tuning in Garry and take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? Thanks Garry! That Stop and Go is a great little spout. This one is kind of long in the tooth and needs to be replaced, but it sure paid for itself!! Take 'er easy!!
Mike.... just meander on down to your local Canadian Tire and buy a $20 fuel transfer pump. Just 2 D cell batteries and it's a clean pump transfer with no drips or hassles. Try it... you'll never go back to lift & pour anymore. I use it to fill everything from my chainsaws, leaf blowers, whipper snippers, brush saws and tractor to even my road vehicles. I'm getting too old to make life any harder than it has to be.😁
How's she goin'? That sounds like a plan to me!! I have one of those battery operated pumps now but I'm not too sure if it's the one you mean. This one takes a long time to fill the tank. But hey, time is one this I seem to have lots of eh!! LOL Thanks for the suggestion and take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? You ain't lying Artie. I never had issues with leaking gas when I was a kid and used an old 1 gallon vinegar glass jug bottle for gas. It worked great, but these 'new' cans are nothing but a leak machine. Thanks for tuning in and all the best to you for the New Year! Take 'er easy!!
That one can with the stop and flow nozzle are great. I’ve had two of those stop and flow valves for twenty years and they work great. A little oil in the sticking one and work it a bit, that helps with the sticking. Can’t buy those wedco cans any more. And the stop and flow valves won’t fit on the septor cans. Great video Mike. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
How's she goin'? Because of all the issues I had trying to get the 'Stop and Go' spouts to mate up with the Scepter cans is the reason I decided to get new cans. And as it turns out the "Stop and Go' valve doesn't fit the new Scepter cans all that well, so I'm kind of back where I started. But at least the new cans, which are Scepter, are easy to strap down on my rack! LOL Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
I have gone to using cans that are called “easy pour”. They have a horizontal spout with a thumb button that you push to open a valve to let the fuel flow. They also have a handle on the top and one on the back which makes for handling them so much easier.
How's she goin'? Gary those cans sound like a winner for sure. I'm going to search those out and have a look. Even though I just bought 4 new cans, if there is a can that is less likely to spill when transporting or filling a tank, I'd be interested in them . Thanks for sharing that and take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? Mike your prayers are so heart warming for Nannie and I. Thanks. So far I'm liking the gas cans but well see as time goes by. I'll keep ya posted. Take 'er easy!!
I do like those new Sceptre cans. I use a battery powered pump with a hose and gas nozzle on the end. This is my third year with it and it works perfectly. No need to lift and hold the can, just pump it like at a gas station. Great deal on the cans Mike
How's she goin'? I have seen those gas can pumps and they look good. I had one that was gravity feed once and the nozzle kept breaking. I don't think it liked gas being run through it!! LOL Go figure eh!! Thanks for the input Bruce and take 'er easy!!
I am glad you did this video. You haven't been able to buy a good gas can for years. The Scepters are still not the best but that is a big improvement. The vent hole is a game changer. I'll be watching to see how they perform. The shape of the is much more practical as well. Thanks Mike. Stevo
How's she goin'? You wouldn't think it would be hard to design a gas can that everyone would consider as 'good' but that seems to be a big ask eh!! These Scepter cans seem to be pretty good, but not totally great. Like you say, having the vent cap is a game changer. I'll do a review video after I use them a bit and we'll see if they pass!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
Awesome Grampie《☆》I hope they work out for You Brother👍🏾🍺🤳I bought a cheap plastic Can last year it's Dam safe alright😁I can't even get gas out of it with the spout installed🎉Happy New Year Brother✌🏼😎☯️
How's she goin'? Your new can sounds like a good one Bdog! LOL All the protection they put on things tends to make those thing more unsafe I think!!! Take 'er easy!!
Gas and diesel cans are a real pain. I hope these work out well for you. For my tractor I have been using a fuel transfer pump. It’s just a little handheld thing that takes a couple of D cell batteries I really like that because then I don’t have to lift the can. Cheers!
I use the same but with a screw on pump ,with a weighted flexible suction and an automatic shutoff on the handle. I got it from BR Battery in Ontario, at just over 125$. Well worth it for me with the auto shutoff. It uses a wall power adapter or batteries.
How's she goin'? Lifting the can is getting to be a challenge eh. And then even once you lift it you have to hold it for what seems an eternity waiting for the gas to fill the tank!! I have one of those little cheap transfer pumps that are battery operated. But they take a long time to fill the tank, but you don't spill much eh! LOL Thanks for watching Mike and take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? The battery pumps are pretty good, I'll give ya that, but they take a long time to fill the tank, or at least mine does. Maybe I don't have the right model! Thanks for the comment. Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? I have seen those kinds of pumps. I like them but the cost was kind of steep for a guy on my pay scale!! LOL Someday though I can see myself getting one because lifting and holding the gas can is not as easy as it used to be!! Thanks for commenting and take care!!
Mike, I bought the 2-pak from Costco a couple of years ago. They look identical to yours, except the yellow vent caps do not unscrew or tighten, yet they don't leak either! It perplexed me at the time, but I found that they will vent, but somehow also seal. They work great, even with those spouts! I think I may have even contacted Scepter about it. Just be thankful we are not subjected (at least not yet) to the new gas cans that are mandatory in the US. They are a real pain!
How's she goin'? That's a good point about maybe regulations changing and us having to use the cans from the US. I hope, if that happens here, our old cans will be grandfathered and we'll be allowed to still use them. The vent caps on the cans I bought need to be squeezed and pressed down hard on them to engage the cap so it can be unscrewed. They work good. I just hope the UV from the sun doesn't destroy them like it did on the other Scepter cans I had. Thanks for comment Brian and I hope you had a nice New Year! Take care!!
Hi Mike, to this day I use “Jerry cans” at my camp. Dirt bikes, snow mobiles, ATVs and outboard motors - it can definitely be a pain especially those leaky flex nozzles - junk. - I manage it this way…with a solid spouted can, I use a funnel for the top half of the can, then use the bottom half for the boat which is more difficult to pour. When I have several cans of gas, I will also transfer fuel into a a can that is easier to manage- some folks might not think this is acceptable or practical but for me it’s stress free and works. Cheers
How's she goin'? Sounds like you have a good plan and like you say it works, so why fix it!! Spilling fuel is not what we want to do, so if we can come up with a method that can allow us to fill our equipment and not spill gas, then that's a win for me! Thanks for commenting Ed and take 'er easy!!
I have tried all kinds of gas cans over the years and the one's I like the best are the racing type . They have good o ring seals in the cap and all of them I have vents. Those new cans you got look pretty good I hope they work out good for you. When our government got involved with the gas cans they really went to crap here in the states. But anything the government gets involved with usually goes to crap. Enjoyed the video and I'll see you on the next one.
How's she goin'? I have seen the racing type cans Ronnie. They are nice and sure make fueling a lot easier eh. I hear ya about the government messing up everything they get involved with. Just look at how the country is run, there's you evidence eh!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
It will be good to see how these new gas cans work out. We find transfering gas a huge problem. The biggest plastic gas cans we can get are 5lt which is far too small for our use so we use 20-25lt metal jerry cans and end up wasting a lot
How's she goin'? I hear ya Joseph. With the cost of fuel we don't want to lose or waste any. The metal cans were nice till they started putting ethanol in the fuel, and that made them rust!! You would think it would a simple thing to do, to make a plastic gas can that wouldn't leak when filling, transporting or pouring from, but I guess it is!! Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
I hear your pain! I got the same ones from Costco! I gave up and went with a battery powered transfer pump. No more lifting and much better control of how much fluid is transferred. Thanks for sharing.
How's she goin'? That's one good thing about the battery operated pumps on the cans, you can stop the flow a lot quicker. These new cans seem to be OK. I have only poured fuel from them once and had no leaks so, so far so good! LOL Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
Great subject Mike. I think ive had close to ever gas can made. The only one I'll buy now is the No-Spill brand. They are kind of pricey at about 35 dollars for a 5gal can. They dont leak and and if you spill any , its operator error. I love them! They make them in several sizes. Happy new to you and Janet! I hope 2024 will be better than 23. 👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
How's she goin'? That sounds like great can Roger. What type is it? Even though I just bought 4 new cans, I'd still be interested in finding a can that would be less likely to spill fuel. Thanks for commenting and take 'er easy!!
I like the idea of drilling a hole in the top, usually 1/2 inch, and using a tire valve stem, minus the Schrader valve. You use the valve cap as a vent.
How's she goin'? That would work good eh. These cans came with the vent and a cap. I just hope the cap doesn't rot in the sun and break. That has happened to other vent caps I had. Thanks for the suggestion though. Take 'er easy!!
The new vented gas cans are much better and the design should make it much easier when pouring. I agree those Scepter spouts are total garbage. Looking forward to the follow-up video. Have a good one Mike!
How's she goin'? I don't know what the folks at Scepter were smokin' the day they came up with this spout design, but it sure is a fail in my books too. Thanks for commenting and take care!!
Hi Mike happy new year to you and Nannie, I just have my fuel in 5 litres containers with a flexible pourer on that dribbles fuel, but the stop-go spout seems good idea, and I might look into getting one 👍
How's she goin'? I really like the 'Stop and Go' spout Neville. But just a heads up, this one is wore out and when I was in town today I couldn't find a new one. Not sure what's up with that. But thanks for tuning in and Happy New Year. Take 'er easy!!
Grampie, I had the same problem, but my son solved it.he bought me a Tera pump on Amazon works beautifully, they are a little pricey, but they save a lot of lifting & less spilling!!
How's she goin'? You know Greg, when I finally got fed up with the gas cans I had I was thinking strong of getting one of those transfer pumps. I figured I'd spend the money and see. But then these cans were such a good deal I thought I'd try the can thing one more time!! We'll see how it goes after a few months. Thanks for commenting. Take 'er easy!!
Great information here Mike. I'm going to Costco tomorrow, so I'll have a look around to see if they have these container available there. They did have them last month, but I didn't think to buy a set then. I'm still using two older Wedco 18 litre and one 15 litre container. I find these much easier to hold up and pour into my equipment. But then, I will need new one soon, so I guess I can put in 16 or 18 litres at a time,.. same thing hey/ All the Best of Everything Good to Nanny.
How's she goin'? Thanks for your kind thoughts for Nannie Reg!! I don't think you'll be disappointed with these gas cans. Other than they can be heavy when filled, they are working good. Easy to fill and transport and easy to pour from with NO leaks!! LOL Happy New Year and take 'er easy!!
Happy new year Mike !!! Great video and hope all is well with you guys, we are always thinking of Nannie hope she is getting along ok. Nice gas cans the only thing I don’t like is that they are slim and tip over if not secured so best to secure them like you do. I have the same love hate relationship with a lot of my gas cans too lol. Take care
How's she goin'? Thanks for asking after Nannie Russell. We are hoping she can get her hip replacement in the spring but time will tell eh!! That's a good point you make about the cans being narrow and tippy. I never thought of that. The way I store them that shouldn't be an issue for me, but something I will have to watch for. I hope you have a great New Year and take 'er easy!!
HNY Mr. Mike - I tell ya last summer i picked up a Flo-N-Go 14 gal gas tank second hand for $25 bucks... wish i had bought one years ago. You would love one of those around the camp - they are handy - rigged mine to be able to add a shot of air from the compressor and its like being at the station pump 🙂 But what you have looks like good quality cans - i like the size them being slim and tall - looking forward to seeing how awesome your 2024 is - stay safe and warm!
How's she goin'? I have seen the Flow and Go cans on Amazon. I was wondering if they would be any good. I'll have to check them out and see about adding the air 'Feature'!! LOL Thanks for watching and I hope your New Year is your best yet! Take 'er easy!!
Hi Bud. Gas cans are like a necessary evil eh. When working in the bush having 5 or even 10 gas jugs is a normal thing. So normal they are often missing when getting back to an unattended camp. I finally caught the main culprit by modifying blue water jugs taps to a gas like nozzle and using the red cans for water. The very first day while using this setup there was a fella in a pickup that had quit running. Of course as we never not stop and offer assistance. Sure as sure there are 4 of my blue water jugs in the back of his pickup. My partner went to camp where we had cell service and had the RCMP come and pay us a visit. I stayed to see if I could help get his truck figured out. Of course I pressed charges and in court the Judge made a point of how dangerous gas theft can be for anyone working way out there to run out of gas. Many of the access roads up here can not have anyone else on them for weeks at a time. If someone was hurt badly they may die. Needless to say I have 5 water jugs that are now well marked as gas. LOLOL. Happy new year bud. Hugs for Nannie J of course.
How's she goin'? Wow Dean, that's quite the story buddy. But you were so right. The guy who took the gas cans was a bottom dweller for sure and anything that the judge did to him would be well warranted. Thanks for sharing and take care buddy!!
Most of my Gas Cans have come from Auctions. Here the Kroger grocery stores have a point system for each $ you spend in a month you get a point. Sometimes gift cards are 4x points and Pharmacy prescriptions are 100 points. Each 100 points can be used to get 10 cents per gallon off the price of gas, up to $1.00 per gallon up to 35 gallons per fill. If your car only takes 15 gallons, you can only save $15. But I take all my cans and fill them with what the car won’t take. So 15 gallons in the car, 20 in the cans. That way I don’t leave money on the table.
How's she goin'? That's the way to do it Tom. In these days of prices going up every day, coupons and deals and discounts have to be watched a lot closer and taken advantage of whenever we can. Way to go. Take care!!
How's she goin'? That's the case with everyone I think eh. We have a ton of cans because we get ones thinking they will work better and they still leak. So we try another can. I was tired of not having the right cap or spout or vent cap or no vent at all so I bought these new cans. So far I like them but time will tell. Take 'er easy!!
Yup, spillage just gets me so worked up...even Otis heads for the hills when he sees that happening. LOL My grandfather had a metal gas can that he kept furnace oil in for priming furnaces after doing maintenance work and it had a nice metal flexible spout...I don't remember him ever mentioning anything about spillage. Don't know what ever happened to it and don't know if anything like that is even on the market today. My, I'd be tempted to fill those can right up and never be able to lift them! lol Sure was a good buy though...and I am always impressed by Costco and how easy they make it for returns if something isn't just right! Take good care and enjoy the new year...and I hear that we could have some snow coming our way. Bruce and Otis
How's she goin'? When I was a kid, my dad bought one of those metal gas cans with the flexi spout. They were pretty fancy I'll tell ya. But with the advent of ethanol in the fuels now-a-days that makes the metal cans rust and that's no good eh! These cans are nice but they sure are heavy when filled. I tend to only put about 18 liters in them and that helps a bit with the weight. I saw on the news tonight that we might get some snow on the weekend. That would be nice I guess, as long as we don't get 2 feet all at once eh! Say Arrf Arrf to Otis for me and take 'er easy!!
@@GrampiesWorkshop Indeed, the gas mixtures sure don't agree with a metal can at all anymore. Yes, Just heard on the news this evening that we can expect 15-25 cm! Yikes!! Otis just may have a snowbank or two to lay on! lol
I have one five gallon plastic can to have for the cars. A couple two and a half gallon and a couple one gallon cans for the chainsaws with two cycle mixed gas in them. The most storage I have is in six five gallon Gerry cans and two round five gallon cans. One Gerry can for kerosene and five for alcohol free gas for the tractor, mower, power washer, snow thrower, rototiller, boat motors, and any other small carbureted engine I might have or get. Lewie also gave me a spout for the Gerry cans that doesn't leak and I bought half a dozen that leak all over the place. Lewie gave me some of the vent caps and tfillhey work just fine on the newer Comiefornia rated tanks. The one gallon cans have automatic shut off spouts that spill more than they save. The cans I like best are the rectangular metal one gallon cans like Coleman Fuel use to come in. They were light and easy to carry. I pulled a mower with a gallon can strapped to the engine all over for years when I was mowing lawns. Never spilled and the spout was a rubber hose with a rubber plug for the end. The mower had a quart tank and I could mow four city lots with a gallon of gas. At $1.50 a lawn I was making a killing in 1959 when I started. Back to the cans. I can't put alcohol gas in the steel cans or they rust through. I also only keep the 5 gallon can about two months then I dump it in the tank on the truck and refill the gas can. It won't keep much past that. The Gerry cans are pretty heavy to lift up and fill the tractor with so I fill a small two and a half gallon tank from the Gerry cans and use that to fill the small engines.
How's she goin'? Dave it seems a lot of folks have a lot of different ways to manage their gas and gas cans. Like your system, it is what it is due to you discovering what was good and what wasn't for you and your usage. And for the various types of fuel and where we use that fuel often times dictates a 'special' kind of fuel management system. I just buy regular 87 octane fuel and put Stabil in it. I use it in all my small engines treated like that. I have been dong that since forever and I never seem to have any issues with stale gas or rusting in a tank. Most of the tanks are all plastic now anyways. Thanks for your input Dave and take 'er easy!!
That`s a great idea but for the amount of cans that I have....I have a fortune in gas and fuel cans by the price you say. I must have about 30 of them and I use a large funnel, thats my way....CHEERS
How's she goin'? I hear ya Gator. I had lots of fuel cans too and they all spilled fuel when I was either filling, transporting or emptying them, so I decided I make too much money not have some new good ones. So Janet bought me 4 new cans and I like them a lot so far!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? It's a good deal at Costco and so far Kenny, the cans seem to be pretty good. The flexible spout sure is not a selling point though!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? I have seen them in Costco around here for a long time Del. I finally got to the point where I wanted to try them to see if they would be a better solution to the leaking and spilling. We'll see I guess. I'll do a follow up video and let you all know how they worked out!! Take 'er easy!!
Happy New Year buddy. Will Mike, I know a lot about gas. ( Just ask my family) but I don't know much about cans. But I tell you they look like good cans. Thanks for sharing.
How's she goin'? I have had many different kinds of gas cans John and none of them, including these ones, are perfect. They all have faults. But these new cans seem to be a lot better than most ones I've had. Let's hope that continues. Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
I hope your gas cans do better than the trailer for the garbage cans. That would be heartbreaking to lose 4 five gallon cans full of gasoline. Are you about 155 cents per litre? That is $5.89 CA per gallon, or $4.41 US. 155 per liter = $31 per can x 4 = $125 loss if they fall off. Plus the can cost. I’m glad these strap up better! I paid $2.63 here in Michigan at Sam’s Club tonight. Gotta go into the office tomorrow, 66 miles each way. I thought I better fill up.
Hello there Tom. I fueled up last Tuesday and gas was $1.54.8 cdn a liter. And I sure wouldn't want to even spill any of that let alone lose 4 full cans!! I have a rack that goes on the trailer hitch on the Bronco. Then I strap the can's to the rack with ratchet straps. They are good and solid and no fear of them coming loose, but I used to struggle with spillage on the way home. These new cans will solve that problem because the caps screw down good and tight. Thanks for the comment and have a great week!!
Most of today's gas cans are useless! Once you get better spouts, those new cans should work pretty well. The vent hole makes a big difference. I look forward to the follow-up video.
How's she goin'? Rick it was the vent hole that sold me on these cans. I have 2 cans now with no vents and as far as I'm concerned those cans are garbage. These new cans are easy to pack and strap down on my carrier for the Bronco and with the vents they are easy to pour from too. We'll see after I use them for a bit eh!! Thanks for watching and take 'er easy!!
Good evening Mike, thanks for this. I struggle with the gas cans leaking when pouring and they are difficult to hold when you are pouring. Any important in design is always welcome. Does this mean I have to break down and get a Costco membership ..Great video! All the best to you and Nannie, Ben👍
How's she goin'? These gas cans seem to be pretty good Ben. But time will tell. I'll do an update and let everyone know what I think of them latter on. BTW, Canadian Tire have these exact cans for $32.99 each, but Costco was $44.99 for 2. Just sayin'!!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? Aren't gas cans a pain in the seat!! These new cans seem to be to good to be true, but the next time I need to fill them up I'll do a review of how I'm liking them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? You would think there would be some company out there that could make a 'great' gas can. There are several 'good' cans, but no 'great' ones eh!! Thanks for the visit and comment. Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? This spout was supposed to be a version of an auto shut off spout. Mine is pretty well toast now and sticks a lot, but when it was new it worked really good. Take care!!
How's she goin'? Yeah, they seem to be decent eh. The shape is nice. Easy to stack and strap down on my carrier for the Bronco and the vent cap is very nice too!! Take 'er easy!!
Do you think those nozzles should be put up where the sun doesn't shine? Is that what you couldn't say on TH-cam? I won't say it either. I hate the stink of gas on my hands. It lingers forever, and if you have one of those cans with a nozzle stored down inside, it is always soaked in gas. I therefore, always wear nitrile gloves when I pour gas. Then I've created garbage that stinks of gas!! Nice deal on the Costco cans. I think these cans are being phased out, though for EPA approved cans that trap vapour. Enjoy them while you can. I read in the comments that someone mentioned a pump to deliver gas out of the can into your machines. That sounds like a great idea and perhaps another idea for a video for you. All the best, Mike. Be Good! And hello to nanny!
How's she goin'? You mentioned about the pump at Canadian Tire. I think these still have the hose that is filled with fuel when the pump stops and then you have that spilled over everything. I have seen a tank and pump combo that was battery operated. When the tank is full it stopped and then the fill nozzle is stored back into the can. It looked pretty spill proof, but when I checked the price it had a payment plan attached!! LOL I'm going to try these Scepter cans for a bit and see how they make out! I'll tell Nannie you said hello!! Take 'er easy!!
I've already bought the little hand pump so I'll see how it goes. I pick it up on Friday and I'll try it out in the next few days. I think the best solution is to have one of the "Tidy Tanks" that you see in the back of work trucks. They have a real, mechanical pump and a proper gas-station hose. That's the Pro way to go. Only thing is a fella has to part with several thousands of dollars for one of those babies and I am hard to part from what little money I have. I'm waiting for a generous subscriber or TH-cam "Buddy" to send me one LOL haha Take care Mike!@@GrampiesWorkshop
Oh boy have you hit a nerve with this one!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo sick of these new fangle cans they all seem to suck! to me! If I ever run across the old fashion ones at a yard sale I'm jumping on them!
How's she goin'? I hear ya Renaldo!! I thought I was the only guy who had trouble with gas cans. Boy was I wrong. Hello, my name is Mike and I hate gas cans. LOL Take 'er easy!!
Yep. Same boat Mike. Shame on gas can manufacturers. We have all these fancy emissions technologies on our vehicles to capture fumes from the fuel tanks, lights and buzzers going off if we have a malfunction or a loose fuel cap…..but it’s ok for these cheap cans to leak all over the place and contaminating soil and air supply. I have some of each that you have shown us here. Still not impressed with the new scepters either. But I haven’t replaced the spouts like you are planning. Just for what it’s worth, some guys have been simply drilling a hole, installing a tire valve stem (without the valve core) to non-vented gas caps to make a vent, and using the valve cap to seal up the stem….im sure there is a video for that. And now you got me going….DOES anyone make any item that pours properly??? My coffee pot won’t pour without dripping, I have glass measuring cups that won’t pour properly…..on and on…lol
How's she goin'? Well Jim, maybe you're right, there is no vessel that can pour without leaking!! I plan on changing the flexi spouts on these new Scepter cans. The 'Stop and Go' that I show in the video is the closest I have come to a spout that won't leak and it's self closing when you remove it from the tank fill hole. But my problem now is I can't find these spouts anywhere!! For every solution there is a problem eh! Thanks for your response here Jim and all the best in the New Year. Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? For sure Len. I just got these after Christmas. Costco have had them for many years so I suspect they will still have some. I think they are a pretty good can. I hope, if you get some, you have good luck with them. Thanks for tuning in and commenting. Take 'er easy!
For sure Len. Here is my e:mail: grampie283@gmail.com Send me your address and I'll send you a sticker and it'll have my address on it so you can send me one of yours. Thanks for reaching out!!@@Lens-KeepingBusy
2 at Costco $30 . I've got a couple , love em. As you know I make my own nozzles.
I will be watching for your review later... Keep smiling my friend
These new gas cans are a gas!! They do seal up good and hopefully they won't leak and stink up the place. Love ya!!
I like the Stop-and-Go! Mike, if it stops gas or diesel from wasting is a good !
LOL Thanks for the suggestion and take 'er easy!!
amazing video thanks for sharing
How's she goin'? Well thanks for watching and taking some time to comment. Thanks and Happy New Year! Take 'er easy!!
Hello Grampie. Gas cans are not what they use to be like everything else lol. I'm glad Nannie found you a couple of nice cans 🙏🔧👍
How much environmental protection is there from a can that spills a pint per gallon? Pure government stupidity in my book.
@@GrampiesWorkshop 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have gone to using cans that are called “easy pour”.
They have a horizontal spout with a thumb button that you push to open a valve to let the fuel flow.
They also have a handle on the top and one on the back which makes for handling them so much easier.
How's she goin'? Gary those cans sound like a winner for sure. I'm going to search those out and have a look. Even though I just bought 4 new cans, if there is a can that is less likely to spill when transporting or filling a tank, I'd be interested in them . Thanks for sharing that and take 'er easy!!
Great info
How's she goin'? Thanks Dave. SO far I like these cans, but time will tell all eh!! Take 'er easy!!
@@GrampiesWorkshop yes 👍
Hopefully those work great! Can't wait to see how they do! We are always praying for you and Nannie 🙏🙏🙏
Cheers!
Yeah.... I use the same thing.... no lifting the jerry can and a clean transfer with no problem.
@@GrampiesWorkshop I sent you an email Mike. Hope its helpful.
Thanks Roger!!@@rogermcdonald1607
But then, I will need new one soon, so I guess I can put in 16 or 18 litres at a time,.. same thing hey/
All the Best of Everything Good to Nanny.
@@GrampiesWorkshop Yes too, my local Costco has them at present,... $29.99 for a pack of two,.. good price I thought.
That's a very good price. I paid $44.99 for a 2 pak!!@@regsparkes6507
Way to go. Take care!!
Looks good but as of right now I have a lifetime supply of cans and I've made any modifications that they needed to work properly.
Yikes!! Otis just may have a snowbank or two to lay on! lol
Great job Mike. Full watch 👍🏻
Please tell Nannie hi for us.
How's she goin'? Thansk for the full watch and Nannie says Hi right back at yas!! Take 'er easy!!
Good deal. I must get Karen to ask her sister to pick up two for me. Thanks Mike.
How's she goin'? It's a good deal at Costco and so far Kenny, the cans seem to be pretty good. The flexible spout sure is not a selling point though!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
Hey Mike , those are some nice gas cans . Didn’t know Cosco sold those !!!
Look good Mike, great review
How's she goin'? Thanks Steve!! These cans are perfect but neither am I so maybe they are a good match for me! LOL Take 'er easy!!
Hope they make your gas transport easier 👍
How's she goin'? Thanks Dave. So far I like them. No leaks!! Time will tell though eh!! Take 'er easy!!
Good afternoon Grampie!
How's she goin' Gary?

You would think there would be some company out there that could make a 'great' gas can. There are several 'good' cans, but no 'great' ones eh!! Thanks for the visit and comment. Take 'er easy!!
How's she goin'? This spout was supposed to be a version of an auto shut off spout. Mine is pretty well toast now and sticks a lot, but when it was new it worked really good. Take care!!
I have two and like them better too.
I agree completely about those nozzles. Garbage!
You know it eh!! They don't vent very well and they always spring leaks in the folds of the flexi part. You're smart, do you take after your mother?
I have 3 cans and all 3 ribbed spouts are taped up with gorilla tape. No leaks, but they still dont pour real well.
@@GrampiesWorkshop AMEN!
Hey Mike you recently got those so hopefully there still that price, looks good may grab some myself, later Mike 👍, 🪵🔥🚜🏰🚀⛄️🍺
How's she goin'? For sure Len. I just got these after Christmas. Costco have had them for many years so I suspect they will still have some. I think they are a pretty good can. I hope, if you get some, you have good luck with them. Thanks for tuning in and commenting. Take 'er easy!
