Thank god for this man, the only person on youtube making Billy Strings lesson videos. Seasoned guitarist but very new to Bluegrass theory, so these are a major help!
Another excellent lesson from Marcel! To us learning bluegrass picking Marcel really is a treasure. He is so good at explaining everything carefully, simply presented but totally appropriate for absolute beginners and equally the more advanced. Not only is he a great teacher and has a great bedside manner, full of charm and highly intelligent but he takes care to put together his videos in a professional manner, using more than one camera and uses the green screen to show the transcriptions plus his playing.
Good lord the jump from .75x to normal playback is insane lmaooo. Got it down all nice and tight on .75x and figured I was ready to bump it up but WOOOO BOY I forgot how dumb fast this break is 🥵
The beginning sounds like Nelly Kane. First time I caught him doing this tune live that’s what I thought it was until he started singing of course. Thanks marcel
the full teenager scale thank you for this lesson Marcel love it when you do Billy strings thanks again look forward to tomorrow night take care wagon dragon❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve been trying to figure out how to play “Likes of Me” by Tony Rice and I haven’t been able to quite get it down. I was wandering if you could do a tab for it? That would be a huge help. Thanks
Hey Marcel! I really enjoy your videos! I have a transcription request if you ever get the time, which would be the intro to “Against The Grain” by the awesome Clay Hess! :)
I can’t seem to grasp why some tutorials feel the need to add so much information. I’m sure those who are into learning music theory it’s great. For the rest of us, not so much. I was like AAAAARGH! JUST SHOW ME HOW TO PLAY IT ALREADY! Regardless, thanks for posting.
The G run or partial G run lick he uses 11:42, and he always uses it and I can't figure out where it goes between the strumming. Is there a lesson on this you do ? th-cam.com/video/7yx6WtKEU9g/w-d-xo.html

Bro, I wanted to learn that song so bad. If you download the app Snippz, watching it in slow motion you’ll be able to pick up what he’s doing.
A million yeses!
Oh I did this one! th-cam.com/video/S2vycxjz6v0/w-d-xo.html
This is awesome, thank you. And thanks to Molly Tuttle who brought me here from IG. 🤟🏼
Can you recommend a satisfying beginners course for picking? I have issues being patient 😄

Hey, Marcel, is that a D35?
It is! I'm playing a 1968 D35 in this one.
THANK YOUUUU
As always, great video, is it me or you got more time to edit your video. ;)

Open 4th, hammer on and pull of on 4th, open 3rd, hope that helps :)
Wow
Above my skill level still but I'm getting there
Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and use my guitar for firewood I guess.... 😔
Lol
Interesting that this still sounds like music (melodic) when its played slowly.
Thanks Luke
