  • Ti point is close to Auckland making it popular with divers of all skill levels. Many people have learnt to dive here and many come to enjoy the oceans bounty. Be respectful of the area as you are a guest in the home of many.
Many species can be found here, all the usual suspects. I find it to have a strong population and many John Dorys if you can spot them.
This footage is from back in the day when I was living Auckland, this was and still ranks amongst my favorite diving spots.
Thank you for choosing my video if you enjoyed please like and subscribe, cheers :)

I personally found goat fish is the softest fish in NZ and very tasty. I always just grab a few big size when I saw them.

I would disagree on them being the softest, as koheru exist. Very tasty however, good option on slower days

Northland is epic, similar to coro but much more to explore. Haven't done much spearing lately, next weather window and I'm in

@@BlueNeoprene Cool you won't want to go anywhere else, All the bays up north have a story and history, which makes the taking of Kai from those areas even more special.

NZs most spearfished spot, times are tough when you've got to shoot a stargazer.

110 bro, have thought about cutting it to 90 but I like the power and range. Gives me confidence with every shot

You did mention it but I would definitely not recommend anyone dives the narrow channel between Ti Point. So many boats fly through there it’s a death wish. Better to dive out a bit further but even then make sure you have a visible float/dive flag

Yea bro, good call. Flag and flat is essential but we unfortunately cannot just rely on that. Many people don't understand what they are/mean. Boats and jetskis are scary, much more realistic threat than sharks 🦈
