  • You will need to carry a dive knife with you every time that you go spearfishing.
    A dagger is perfect for spearfishing as it has a pointed tip to spike your fish, a smoothly sharpened blade for slicing fish for burly, and a serrated edge for cutting through ropes. It is also important to consider how the dive knife is strapped and how it can be taken out for use.

      burley is using a fish carcass to attract bigger fish. the serated edge on the knife is for slicing off chunks of the carcass

    • @ADRENO
      @ADRENO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hey Richy, burly is fish guts or flesh used to attract other fish. A lot of spearfisherman will use their old fish frames or a lower grade of fish to attract better fish.

    Simple…buy the AquaLung titanium knife with a squeeze lock holster and forget the rest.
    Don’t forget to tether it with a rope to the sheathe and you will never need another knife again.

  • @Billydevito
    @Billydevito 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The FIRST thing I look at is HOW the knife is secured or locked into the scabbard.
    I demand secure, one handed operation to extract, and quick, secure, slip in locking on the return.
    Cheap Chinese knockoffs always have poor locking/securing systems that allow the knife to fall out.
    I’ve had both my knives for over ten years.
    I hate losing gear, even if it’s only a few bucks.

      Good luck stabbing a shark, their bodies are like rocks and they are so quick! You are better off using your spear point to give yourself distance.
      But remember don’t bother them if you don’t want to be bothered back!

    What do you mean by burly? Perhaps it's because I'm an American that I'm confused. Are you talking about cutting the gills?

    • @PrecisionHolePunching

      In American it means to chum. It's adding a trail of "bait" to the water to attract fish.

    I carry a knife that is 7 inches long and had teeth on the spine of the back and it comes out to a point like ghost faces knife in the movie scream...anyway the entire knife is seraided up to the tip and down along the back of the knife...
    My knife compared to the ones your showing...my knife would cut through yours lmao
    ...oh my casing has dual marine grade bands and a safety lock that I have to pull it away from the casing and pull the knife itself...takes 5lbs pull to get it out the casing...
    Power heads on my forearm .45
