This video just popped up on my feed again. After 4 years, I still get chills when Sarah sings. What a freaking killer arrangement and performance by the whole band. These musicians helped the world heal during/after COVID.
The keyboardist doing the backup vocals on this (Darren Mullan) deserves special recognition and applause. Phrasing is completely tight with lead vocalist. Tone is consistent in a very hard range (the pitch where most people guys are breaking between full voice and half-voice or falsetto, yet he controls it wonderfully). And doing a superb job of filling in that unique Michael McDonald vibe/tone... I’ve never seen it done so well. Of course, I agree with all the other positive comments about this band (groove, pocket, vocalist, sweet guitar solo, etc), but let’s applaud Darren on this one too.
I didn't think a woman's voice could carry this song. Boy, was I wrong. How is it that this woman is not known all over the world? Her voice is powerful, clear and effortless. And her passion shows through. Don't you love it when everyone in the band appears to be having a great time and they make great music? I want to go to Aus to see these guy in person.
The machine isn't behind her. They only care about mass appeal marketability. But I will say this, she has world class vocals..... at least on this track.
Everytime i see her sing something, I think the same exact thing.. why hasn't anyone picked her up... but then again, she fits so well with the band....

About 20 years ago, when the whole Napster thing made it clear to me that it was going to be more difficult to make money on recordings (because of piracy), I predicted that what would come from this new paradigm would be EXTREMELY good live performance, because, while people will stop valuing recorded performance, people WILL value the art of LIVE performances, especially ones that sound even more polished than records. Ex: Bands like Daryl Hall's House, Leonid and Friends, Scary Pockets, Postmodern Jukebox, Martin Miller, Puddles, Josh Turner, Josh Gallagher. Now add HSCC. You guys are KILLIN IT!
This girl is soooo beautiful. The groove and performance of each musician is fantastic and the guitar solo is outstanding. Standing ovation for this band. I’m trying very hard not to watch their performance of ‘Alone’ every day. Girl, you’re very beautiful. Would like to watch this band live one day.
Can't say enough about the talent level of this band. The way that they go off on a controlled and cohesive tangent at the bridge of some of their cover songs is absolutely amazing. I'm a fan 4 life!

Yes Great Mix. Engineer is top notch. Everything is in the mix. The drummer even played the 32 note bass drum riff that Jeff Porcaro did on the original. Great bass grove! Super tasty keyboards. Percussion perfect. Changing to shaker and really locking in. Not just playing a pattern. Super tone on the Guitar and great solo. Just the right amount of taking it out a bit!! Vocals are world class! Backing vocals perfect doubling effect! This is a band I would love to see Live. Keep it going!!
Maybe if I never get to Adelaide to see the band in person, maybe they might one day get to Austin for SXSW or ACL. Y'all are just the best out there doing these covers in the style of the original artists but still making the songs your own.
