Even I dont change my 500 ltrs discus tank water for 2-3 months and still they grow fast and big. I have raised them from 1 inches to 6 inches in the same tank and same way :)

This kind of filtration using pothos and other similar plants is a wonderful method to absorb nitrates and ohio fish rescue does this in their massive fish room.

@@DiscusNinjaPot scrubbers plays an important part in generating more beneficial bacteria in oxidation of Ammonia into Nitrites and nitrates bcz of greater surface area. The discus looks huge...nearly 8 to 9 inch in size. Wondering how is it possible that without feeding heart mix foods ( which Malaysian breeds prefer than granules, flakes and Pellets ) those discus gets to this size and girth. I have spoken to some Malaysian discus importer's and they readily recommended that heart mix foods are very much essential to Malaysian bloodline including Artemia and Australian black worms. Ten months without water changes in a 7 ft discus tank ( where the discus are thriving ) is itself like getting a nomination for an Oscar award😊. I wonder how is it possible to get this grade of healthy discus without high protein feed foods to get them growing and healthy.

Follow father fish set on TH-cam ! Now anyone can keep discus in full planted tank in a fish tank , one inch dirt and 3 inch sand ! my tank is set up last 2 years , no problem at all ! Water change 50 percent once in 10 days for discus !!

Filtration for massive aquariums is upto one's imagination. As this video shows filtration using money plants help...,spider plants,umbrella paprus are other plants. First section with filter socks then a section for pothos and similar plants then next section some filter pads and kaldness k1 media section before return pump. I always noticed that these plants grew better with sunlight. Could keep very tiny rice fish in the sump just to feed on mosquito larvae.
