Hey thanks so much for the feedback! I appreciate you being out there watching. I'm glad I could be of help.. Comments like yours is what keeps me going! Hug accepted. Thanks so much!!
Hey Paul, Quick question... It appears my "LCD Cover" is broken and not the actual LCD itself. Ebay seems to sell the covers alone. Would it be possible to replace the LCD cover? Or is the cover glued onto the LCD?
Hey man, great vid. Hoping you could help with something. I replaced my screen as instructed and it went well with everything functional. However, after a couple of minutes, the screen blacked out and hasn't been responsive since. The phone itself seems to be functioning fine with only the display messing up. I've tried reassembling a couple of times to no avail. Hope you can help!
Hey I had that problem when I first did it too... I couldn't get my screen to turn on at all..All I did was take it all apart and carefully put the connector back together and then it worked.. I don't know if there is a specific connector that is very finnicky or if it's several of them.. Something has to be just right somehow.. SO my only advice is take it apart and carefully put it back together making sure all the connections are properly seated and tight and restart. That did it for me. Good luck!
+YetAnotherTechGuy it won't let me reply directly to your comment. It is doable to replace just the glass but it is quite trick to do and time consuming. If you aren't very careful you can mess up the lcd very easily..
I bought the LCD and digitizer for Nexus 5 and before installing it I wanted to test it so I connected everything before gluing the lcd and press the power button and I see the lcd turning on but there is white noise all over the LCD, Do you know if this this a problem with the new LCD and digitizer?
Yes my connector seem to be on fine and when I pressed it it doesn't change anything. I still see white noise and if I try to turn it off using the power button it stays on. I am disconnecting the battery connector to shut it down.
alright I did it. and the screen works great and there are no problems with the phone. Except now, I barely get any service anymore. I get perfectly good service when i'm at home (LTE) but now i have to go the town center to get service. Any Help?
I'm wondering if one of your antenna wires isn't connected properly... You may need to take it apart and just make sure the wires are connected properly on both ends..
Based on what I've seen in your video's, isn't it easier to only remove the motherboard's plastic shielding and unplug the dock cable from the board then just open up the speaker assembly and pull out the screencable and push the screen away via the screencable slit? That way you don't have to disasemble the whole phone in order to replace the screen. Or am I missing something?
Well if you have to apply heat to get it off it's safer for the motherboard and other components to be removed.. You are welcome to try it that way though if you like..
Yes good point, however most SoC's can function safely between temperatures of 70 and 80 degrees Celsius (158-176 Fahrenheit). So am I safe to assume that the glue won't be needing those temperatures in order for it to loosened up? I might need to remove the battery though. Do you think it'll be to risky this way?
Yes you can try.. It's quite a project though.. You just have to be careful.. Here is where I found it the cheapest if you want to check it out..bit.ly/Xw8P83 Thanks.
It sounds like some connector just wasn't connected properly.. The only thing I know to do is take some of the connectors apart and put them back together carefully.. Especially the battery and charging port ones.. Hope that helps. Sometimes they are just finniky and just need to be taken apart and put back together to seat them better..
So i crack my screen it pretty bad the touch pad stile works but i need to buy a brand new 100$ fucking lcd screen with new touch pad jut to replace the glasse fml
Yeah sorry that's about what they run.. Much cheaper to do it yourself though.. You n try replacing just the glass if you want but it's quite a process.. Here is where I found them the cheapest bit.ly/Xw8P83 Good luck!

Hey Paul,
Quick question... It appears my "LCD Cover" is broken and not the actual LCD itself.
Ebay seems to sell the covers alone.
Would it be possible to replace the LCD cover? Or is the cover glued onto the LCD?
I used a paint scraper / razor blade to remove the broken shards from the edge. Lots of heat, worked great!
+Schrödinger's Ape Good for you! Thanks.

Is your connector on right for sure? Can you press down on the connector a lil while it's on and see if it makes a difference?
Yes my connector seem to be on fine and when I pressed it it doesn't change anything. I still see white noise and if I try to turn it off using the power button it stays on. I am disconnecting the battery connector to shut it down.
Oh ok it sounds to me like it could be faulty then. I would try to get it exchanged for another one. Good luck with it!
Thank you!

My screen work automatically sometime , can that be because of faulty LCD ? because I am not sure will issue be shorted out after replacing the LCD.
It could be a faulty LCD or maybe loose connection. Was it dropped before this happened?
+Smart Easy Repair No it wasn't dropped, all of sudden this started ! sometime it works well sometimes it doesn't!
I think it sounds like the LCD is going bad.

Yes you can try.. It's quite a project though.. You just have to be careful.. Here is where I found it the cheapest if you want to check it out..bit.ly/Xw8P83 Thanks.
