I don't think it was a good deal, I fear that would ultimately cause loss for the founders, they can manage 50 lakhs, investment through many others sources on easy T&Cs or if they hire / give equity to a good Marketing Manager, their product will itself grab huge investment as most of the populace is already looking for sustainable organic products.

I mean, how is it going to be spent for the growth of business, which part? 50 lacs in a paints business is not that huge sum. They could have got loans from banks, repay it and keep the equity permanently for themselves. However, Anupam could be useful as a mentor.
