Gone the ear shattering explosions disturbing man and beast, instead, a feast of poetic peace. Gone, the repetitive blinding flashes on the eye and gone the sulfurous, sickly smells, which once permeated crystal clear Scottish air, as now in awe we gaze upon the triumphant unmatched display, heralding in Scotland's New Year.
I'm not Scottish but I spend any significant time I can up in the Highlands and Islands, admiring the majesty and beauty of Scotland's landscape and wildlife. In fact, I should have been up there as I type this now so these incredible videos, whilst making me miss it even more, have allowed me 15 minutes of escapism - a chance to dream of the next time I'm able to cross the border again to the lands I love so much. The brightest thing in the sky last night was Jackie Kay`s voice, beautiful words, delivered with true passion and conviction. Jackie represents everything Scottish, our culture, our history, our people and welcoming sprit. In the far distance, if you listen very carefully, you can hear Burn`s saying " I like this Lassie" Phenomenal production, well done to everyone involved.
