You know honestly being an ork Mek seems like one of the best jobs in 40K. You get to build guns bombs and giant robots all the time, and you never have to measure anything you just eyeball it and it works.
Well to be fair we do hear about how often it doesn't "just work" for orks in a lot of novels, either the thing just falls apart while they build it, or it works but blows up randomly one day, or it works until some beaky gits come around and damage the thing and then it blows up on itself Orks have always had this duel nature to them, being the source of their own failure and holding themselves back constantly While also their innate cheat code abilities are the main reason for their success since without them they would be basically savage orks stuck on any planet they are brought too But when it comes to ork engineering trial and error is the method and it's important to show the error part
My Ork Mek had issues in a Rogue Trader campaign when he tried to patch the holes in the hull using just nets, Humies don't believe! Or that time when he painted half the ship Red and the captain forbade him from painting the other half, the tech priests could not figure out why one side was trying to go faster than the other.....

aside from Thrakka there hasnt bein any orks that got big enough. It wouldnt surprise me if the Ordo Xenos has made sure. But With Angron makin Thrakka mad by killing Yarric they are probly just gonna use Thrakka to fight Angron and Khorn flakes forces

My first large model of Orks was my Stompa. I layer painted that big boy and still very proud of the thing. It’s a nice blue paint washed away to expose the lead belcher underneath the blue. It’s also has a dirty brass color as the secondary color. That blue and brass colors became my Army’s color scheme. I love how it looks like on my orky Boyz and the people at the local hobby shop like the look.

Dude, I been working on my Great Gargant for a few years off and on. The bloke is about 4' so far. Went with Traxx.. the bloody Chain Choppa is 36" long. And I have not started the Dakka Arm. But it's a fun (somewhat frustrating) build.

In my mind, the old ones created the Orks in a moment of desperation. They needed soldiers in a hurry to fight the war in heaven and didn't have the luxury of long term consideration. The Orks (and especially their predecessors) have every perfect trait for war, but nothing at all for peacetime. Compare this to the other main old ones creation, the Eldar. They were created for more enlightened purposes. In both the cases of the Orks and the Eldar, neither were meant to develop on their own without the old ones guidance.
I always found the Mekboy gargant to be the most hilarious to use on the battlefield, though obviously, the lack of either a gutbuster or snapper (yes, those were the names of the underbelly guns back in titan legions) was limiting, watching an entire enemy formation go splat when it's kustom shield finally went nova was just great.

My personal theory is that Kork is the fusion of Gork and Mork. Because only the orks would name themself after their god. The Eldar must have broken him in 2 during or after the war in heaven which weakened the orks.
I like this one. It makes sense that the old ones would have put some sort of safety measure in place. Maybe an avatar of Gork and an Avatar of Mork need to both exist or maybe there needs to be enough fighting going on in the galaxy. Otherwise the Orks become capped so they don't overrun the whole damned thing.

hello, this is 2024, 10th edition, Stompa is still at 800pt. While its statline is mostly impressive, the stinginess of the attack dices it produces, and its tiny 30 wounds do not reflect the sunk cost. A gourkanaut/mourkanaut with 10 wounds lesser at 280/295 might be a sillier choice. I know, orky economic.

Krorks are very real and will return very soon! In matter of fact there are lots of references in the lore but Krorks are just upgraded orks so not as amazing as one may imagine - perhaps good way to see them is like ork tribe made by warbosses. I guess the scale of the waaarg must be so immense that even the normal boyz grow much much much bigger and stronger, in 40k everything is game of scaling up after all 😅

In matter of fact there are lots of references in the lore but Krorks are just upgraded orks so not as amazing as one may imagine - perhaps good way to see them is like ork tribe made by warbosses. I guess the scale of the waaarg must be so immense that even the normal boyz grow much much much bigger and stronger, in 40k everything is game of scaling up after all 😅
