They close their eyes and have a mental battle. That is what I love about the sport of boxing and the fight night games. It being 1 on 1 you can truly dissect your opponent mentally and even visibly watch him crumble. It's all in the play style.. the smallest things are bigger than you think. Some times you may not think it's anything at all.. but it's always something.
I find this the most rewarding against movers. Guys who put on the front as if they are purists and technicians when really they wan't t be chased, nothing more. I hinted at it in the video but didn't finish it - this is what I meant.
If you fight a runner, apply just a little bit of pressure to get his blood pumping then take your foot off the gas and wait. They usually always end up coming to you and trying to get the blood flowing again so that you might chase them
do you experiment with brawling too? I like it when i let the guy brawl with me and after countering with hooks on the inside i step back, get some more straights on the outside, jump back in, win on the inside. it's the best mind game if you ask me. it's simple and practical because they see that you can win on the inside, quickly get to the outside if it's getting a little too risky, and box well and counter from the outside, then close off the ring and brawl some more.

You mention how he's throwing more punches due to being mad. Contrary he knew he was losing and needed to adjust and start throwing something different at you. Wouldn't say he was mad. I throw away the first two rounds usually just throwing measuring shots and seeing what they're bringing. Round 3 starts and I start fighting slowly and by rounds 5 and on, powerpunches become greater and more excessive

I can't get into OWC right now because of some of the jarring issues with the game and I feel like fights at least "look" better in H2H because people have 2 hands. In OWC guys are building up 1 punch and a lot of them are honestly banking on it heavily and spamming that 1 power punch. Even against nobodies, I'd like for the fight to at least "look"
In h2h though, winky is finally good in the game for once and fun to use so I'm sold! :D

I like your vids but honestly that guy playin as Hagler sucks balls. Players that really know boxing understand that these tactics you refer to do apply to the game. Honestly I've only played 3 ranked matches online n all 3 quit lol.. Funny thing is they didn't rush in foolishly swinging like "Hagler" did in ya vid, they just waited for me to throw dumb punches and counter me. Too smart for that though, I was patient n used pot shots and movement to win rounds.. They got fed up n left the game.
got to this vid after watching your riddimworks interview and the gloves look sick, I win most of my fights with mind games and getting them mad.

Do you ever hear your opponent talking? I'm not very tech savy but once in a while for some reason I can hear the guy i'm fightin talking shit to me. I'm not nuts I swear. I don't know if they have some kinda ear phones or some weird connection. They can't hear me I don't think but man is it weird.Some russian guy was talkin shit to me. I was trying to backstep counter powerright and just missed him couple times and he said "u can't catch me with that" but finally did catch him, he said ur lucky
You're talking about the fools who pick Tyson, get in, throw hooks up/down & keep moving forward & no matter what, you can't box them? I despise them. You can actually box them by being defensive & exploiting stamina thru their constant punches but the best method is to BE them. Pick Tyson, always get the first hiit, sidestep-hook every so often while in the brawl, always press forward, hook plenty.
I used to be really potent in this game, when I played last year. I picked it up again a month ago, and I lose so much is pathetic. It's like I can't remember how I play..
How do you handle the players that attack you constantly, with the same punches but both up and down. I can't defend myself for shit, and get's K.O'd. When I get someone stunned, I can't even finish them. Moving so slow..
you givin up to much knowledge these are ALL the tools i use to win i jus started a new name and im 52-5 and 2 of my losses were bs split dec. 9/10 i break my guys down quick and easy and if they good ill still break em down it jus takes more time

@intoccabile nah its not just you, stick is way faster. but it seems like your so accurate with your jab straight combo whenever i do that i somehow mess up with hook instead of a straight lol

How do you beat a defensive runner and side stepper. I boxed a guy that was damn near untouchable I couldn't even land a jab I managed to go the distance but I lost every single round.
Psychology is everything in this game, works both ways sometimes I just gotta put the controller down for the day before losing my shit lol
All good, I didn't take it wrong at all. I just know that everyone has their own twist/style that works for them. For me, because the game removed manual blocking, I decided to just try and emulate one of my favorite fighters. It made the game fun for me, it wasn't at first. Back in Round 2, 3, and 4 when I was a top 5 player, everyone had their own swag and it was pretty neat to see how differently all the top guys approached the game. Now? Everyone has the same style for the most part. Sucks
lol dude..not to be rude or anything...but u are not that good at all..ur timing on the counter punches is bad...i am a counter punch expert in this game and when u counter punch well u will see a flash on the screen..i have knocked down opponents in round one with 1 punch many time..i am even bored with the game now cause i can knock anyone down in 1 round..but u are definitely right about getting to know the boxer and punching sequence..
Spam e-mails vs Spam in a video game has no comparison. I.E, I get a spam e-mail once a week. So, if I throw 1 body shot a fight, that's the equivalent. So, you're logic is skewed. Again, The autoblock is broken. Because players can not effectively defend themselves and body attacks are about 50% more likely to land than head shots, it becomes an easier place to focus your attack. I mix my punches up well, problem is only the punches that LAND are being noticed - those are body punches.
Spam? I'd have to throw more punches in concession for it to be spam. Punch stats were always like 4 hundo up top and 5 undo downstairs, always had more top than bottom. Problem is, autoblock is so broken that they let body punches land. Plus, it was the only way to break an opponents stamina. If you hit the gut directly after they wiffed a punch, it would zap them. Good strat for a broken game.

I don't doubt that you're great at the game at all. I also don't look for counter punches, which is why you're assuming my counter punch timing is off. Fishign for counter windows has never been my style nor will it ever, I just try to emulate the real Winky Wright as best I can. I play to win, but I try to do it in a fashion similar to how the real Winky would do it.
@aatryu555 honestly? it'd be dope if people didn't rely on body shots so much, thejab mainly. It's killing the experience.. cause then I'm forced to do that junk back to get a W.. since the body jabs throw off the trajectory of ya head punches. Other than that it's not too bad though.. right direction, but with every fix there's a break
@nickgeorgiou13 Same thing with EA MMA bro, same exact thing. It's a little harder to tell what's going on with the guys head in EA MMA though as he is going to spend the majority of the fight spamming his parry left and right.
EA MMA is more about finding holes in peoples parry patterns and punch combinations than it is getting in their head. The fights can end so quick.
@slaughterspecialist haha! Tito took a beating. He was outclassed in every area. Winky always has a shoe malfunction though.. I remember aginst bernard his trunks were Grey, White with a little baby blue. Gloves matches perfect... his shoes were Navy blue and silver.
counter punching in boxing and counter punching in fight night is kinda different.. well it's quite similar but i hope you get the point

1. the disgusting duck player who defenses all rounds, just throwing 1 Power punch (advanced spamming, cos no exact time pattern thrown) , common figure: GGG
2. 1-2 straight spammer who use longest reach while short players never touch him.

haha that's funny. This russian guy was nuts. one of the things he said was "you don't fight like that with Holyfield, I know boxing, you have probably never been in a ring. Come fight me on the inside, you know you will lose" the best though is when I was countering him, he kept saying "u get lucky" but got lucky quite a few times in beating him I guess lol. Since paying attention to your vids, ive gone about 25 wins with only a couple losses and losses were close. I'm @level 30 now so movin up
A lot of that has to do with the patches to the game. There were about 3 in total since the time date of this video. They changed a lot of drastic things and yes, defensive was a big part of them. Unfortunately because of the Autoblock, you really have to rely primarily on the game to defend those up down up down same punch combinations for you. It's an unreliable mechanic and it's one of the main reasons I stopped playing the game. My manual blocking was better than this auto blocking.

@ThatCooLDUD3 I had that problem like my first 2 fights. i twasnt the hook it was the ugly overhand i had a problem with. I use to do 1-2 1-2 1-2 a lot in round 4 so i didn't open the hook/upper counter windows. So I've had practice with the jab cross
@slaughterspecialist haha. he's still my boy though. I just finished some crazy spars with my boy Fisticuff, best I've played by far as far as counters go and pressure. I just found out I can que a clinch after jabbing and it's actually more effective than stepping after the jab. He would open counter windows and get clinched. he said the clinched ruinned his stamina too... he was walking like a zombie by the seventh round in all 3 of the 6 fights.

I got KO'd in one round using Holyfield fighting Rocky M. The guy threw a right hand while I was jabbing his body. The punch stats was 4 punches thrown for him and 1 landed. LOL Fight took about 15 seconds. I threw 2 punches

I agree 100%, I guess mad was the wrong word to use. But there was definitely a little bit of desperation there, be it out of anger or to try and get himself on the boards.

@ThatCooLDUD3 Still toughing it out with the stick. I don't like how my straight turns into an overhand sometimes, I gotta be a bit more precise. I tried the buttons though, I don't think the combinations are as fast with the buttons.. might be me being superstitious but that's how I feel.
yeah they talk pretty often. FN is one of the few games where people don't ever speak but every now and then you get those guys that might not know their headset is on and they think aloud, LOL.

I had god hands, bro! The sparkle of the gods, haha! In all seriousness, they sparkled due to combination of effects that I'd put on while editing the video. I thought it looked pretty cool, so ran with it. Is the community still deep? Do a lot of people still play? I had returned to Round 4 before finally calling it quits.
Currently, the game For Honor gives me the same feeling that Fight Night use to.
I finally played 1 FNC match. Won it but the guy must have never played before. I do believe I'm going to start back, online. See how it is. I had been out of any gaming for several years but getting a little time to get back in there. I was never one of the best. But I was online in about everything, EA MMA was my favorite of all-time. Still wish that game had servers to play on.
@peroxsigh I'm actually playing right now. It's 1:33am on West coast and there's still 140 guys online boxing right now. During the days there's upwards of 700 guys on. There's diehards that will never quit. I guess I'm one of them. It's a unique game in that your ability to create and get better is really limitless. There's a million styles on here, and all of them bring something unique and different. Some spam, some counter, some are supper aggressive, some won't come forward....I'm actually surprised more don't play. Bet they would if they understood how good it can be once you get pretty good. Epic battles that will twist your mind by the time your done. ALMOST like a real fight, until you remember....it's just a video game.
Vernal 69 is there any online forums with fight leagues/gyms, etc.. anymore? a place where players can for and talk about the game and their online fights? I doubt my skills are up to par but I'm getting online today and having a go.
