*This video is incredible! It's clear that you all have a deep passion and love for your craft. Your company consistently produces outstanding work, and the cinematography in your videos is top-notch! There's always something valuable to learn from each one. I truly admire how thorough and detail-oriented you all are, both in your work and in the way you all explain every step. I truly appreciate everything you all do. Keep up the fantastic work, and wishing you all a Happy New Year 🎉🎆😊!*
Cobbling as a trade holds a lot of appeal for me. Working with your hands in your own little shop, building customer relationships, and creating something that's practical and useable in a kind of marriage of work and art. (Though when i was young, i didn't know about any of this, so it wasn't on my radar at all).
I'm happy to hear the passion, hang on to it. A few month ago I clocked 31 years in the trade and have stepped away. Unfortunately I worked for a mass outfit and it was all about £££ and diversifying to survive which I totally understand. Cobbling dropped down the list , prices went up and up and the diversity brought a customer base in that wanted cheap slap jobs as I call them. Tried to teach and pass on the knowledge but again it was low wages ( you get the quality you pay for as they say) and the employer wanted them trained in the basics in 16 weeks🤣 Lost the love and passion. Looked at setting up here in the UK but set up costs are insane. So I left, was a very sad day. Long winded way to say thank you for keeping the trade alive and thank you for your passion.
I love picking up used boots and taking the time in cleaning restrain the leather fulling in cuts and making them new life and shipping them off to have craftsmen resole them to complete a pair of boots that I will have for the rest of my life and my be pass them to my children .Thank you for making video for all to enjoy and to your Dad to pass the trade onto u Cheers to new year to come !
We can see your passion, Thats why we send our boots to you... Thank you for working your magic on my pair of Beckmans = Toebox removal • 360° stormwelt • leather filler and midsole • vibram nitrile soles/ heels with a dogger shaped heel ... Fantastico!
My OG Iron Rangers are in their hands now - great call with Tony - can’t wait to see them! Loved the boots, but not the oil resistant (smooth) cork sole. Now the hard part….being patient….

I hope not a dying art! You both are some great cobblers / artists.

This is the perfect for a short mini series. Reachout to Ross Patterson he will take this to a whole other level...
Being a cobbler is a dying art, because the cost of recrafting, is often higher than the cost of a new pair of shoes.

Not true if you are buying high end boots and shoes. I just had my Franks boots resoled. Much cheaper than a new pair.
