  • In this video, I restore MY pair of 25 year old cowboy boots that I purchased in downtown Nashville (Music City USA). These boots were in terrible shape and in desperate need of some attention. We take these boots completely apart and restore them. Time for another restoration!

My parents worked in separate shoe factories in Columbus Ohio. I eventually worked at both of them. 1969. I loved the smell of leather and the chatter of the toe stitcher. Dad glued the crepe soles and I removed the tack after the last was pulled out. At one time, there were 9 shoe factories in Columbus. They were all gone by the time I returned from the service. 1974. Thank you for bringing part of it back.

I would’ve loved to see more of the lining process! That’s something we rarely see on the channel. I’m especially curious about how it’s adhered and how you avoid wrinkles and creases. Thanks!

Rubber cement. Flexible enough to move around during shaping, but strong enough to keep it in place until stitched.

      @cherhanamiya1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think I'm correct in saying also that, a lot of the creases are negated by Whacking down the leather into place.

I don't how I ended up here because I watch heavy metal videos, video game stuff, animals, concerts and crazy stuff but I'm glad I came here because now it's amazing watching the good honest hard work of putting boots together and repairing them etc. I always wondered why my Pop LOVED his boots and kept repairing them instead of just buying new boots but he always said he LOVED his boots and now I get it. I'm now 49 and understand the love and appreciation of good old fashion hard working nostalgic bad ass boots. I understand the love and humble value of a good working boot. I love this and Thank You for this wonderful video. Thumbs UP and shared. A+++++

I’m truly amazed! My daddy passed away in 1996 and I was given his cowboy boots that he wore everyday. After watching you fix your old pair of cowboy boots I wish I could afford to have you fix my daddy’s boots. He was in WWII in the Navy and then a policeman for years. He always wore cowboy boots while he was a policeman.

@@TrentonHeath I was going through perhaps one of the lowest points in my life just some decent attire would help a lot.
I was given a pair of comfortable never used Redwing western style cowboy boots that didn't last sixty days.
Next I was given a pair of comfortable never used Georgia western style cowboy boots, that was five years ago.
I have put hundreds of miles on them, literally, I oiled them with boot oil religiously.
I have been on hard times again an have not been able to oil them so they are getting rough.
I was of buying new but I can't afford boot oil let alone new boots.
So my question is how much is it to overhaul a pair of Georgia boots 9½W?

There’s something very satisfying about watching these videos. I’ve seen quite a few shoe/boot restoration videos by various craftsman and it’s a skilled art form that is being lost. Years ago there used to be quite a few shops that repaired shoes, boots, purses, belts and other leather goods.
    Not any more…
Nobody repairs anything anymore, they just buy a new one.

Great Video channel guys! Found it by accident too! I was in the Quality Shoe retail business for 47 years and LOVED to watch you "WORK" on those boots. The repair shop that serviced our store was from an Italian guy that could also MAKE SHOES and I LOVED to watch him. Glad to see the Vibram Soles and heels for better wear on the boots you rebuilt too. He should also use Neatsfoot oil on his boots to keep the leather "Alive" as they, the upper, will last longer by doing this at least 2-3 times a year. At least I found out this really helps the quality leather uppers of my shoes over the years.
Retired now in Florida, for 11 years, but MISS the retail business so-so much!.

Just by looking at all your videos, you either when to school to study how used the machines and repair all types or shoes OR you were taught by someone in your family and you continue from there on. You restore the good of the shoes. 😊😊❤❤❤ awesome
