@@Viewer13128 Alex mentioned (in another comment) that he will do a performance of this piece and post it when he's able to do so. =) I'm thankful that he posted this video as fast as he did, and took the time to add more personality to the video by using pictures that he took himself. I just recall that when I was 17 (about 30 years ago) that I would not have been able to handle all of this sudden attention; and would've "shut down" from it. I doubt that I would have been able to even post just the audio; let alone a complete audio and visual experience for people wanting it, especially in less than a full day. At best, it would have been a month for me, so I really applaud his enthusiasm and dedication to his new-found fans.
Dude, I'm getting STRONG countryside wedding/mountain dancing vibes. Congratulations, this piece moved my heart and I almost cried during listening to it. You, sir, have created a touching piece that creates an amazing feeling of triumph, but also gives off some delicacy and smoothness. This is a piece that you can't stop listening to, it's a unique experience I wouldn't find anywhere else if I tried. Thank you, very, very much for it all.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It's supportive and compassionate people like yourself that inspire me to write compositions, and I can't wait to show you and everyone else more down the line. Thank you!
This is only less than 3 minute long but I feel like I listened to a ten-minute piece. So many things happened, so many happy emotions triggered. I like the festivity in the first and last part, and the sincerity in the middle. That less than 3-minute was so efficient, it reached your audience Alex. And hit us so hard. Thank you for this wonderful gift!
So brett was right playing it in a faster tempo? Sorry not a musician here, but i noticed this is faster than what twoset performed. But both pace were awesome!
I prefer a slower tempo; nevertheless, I do think that a fast pace illustrates a cheerful atmosphere (which is the atmosphere that a wedding is supposed to have) better than the slower tempo does.
@@hongyimarkye5708 Every piece is interpreted differently by everyone, considering that's just the nature of music itself. I can totally see how the slower tempo captures more of the musicality aspect of the piece as well. 👌
Just want to say Alex, complimenting the piece as "amazing for just a 17 year old!" is simply an injustice, it's superb for any age. One of my favourite classical pieces is "Concerning Hobbits" by Howard Shore, I'm not sure if you took inspiration from that but there is definitely a resemblance that I love, evokes a similar wishful nostalgia. Beautiful mate, look forward to hearing the rest of your career.
I've been watching A LOT of the hobbit recently (bf never saw them, now he loves them like I do) and when I heard this on twoset I really imagined the Shire, so it's nice to see someone else kinda felt the same lol
Great work! I came from Twoset obviously and this was my favorite piece they played in that first episode! Thanks for posting the sheet music too. I think I might add this to my backlog of pieces I want to learn and record :)
Alex, I just want to thank you for putting this together for us to enjoy (as a complete piece) in a record amount of time. The fact that you also added a video, and a link to the sheet music, is far beyond "generous." I have no doubt that you were (and probably still are) blown away by the sudden amount of attention (the support and appreciation) for composing "Countryside Rigadoon"; yet you still managed to put a lot of extra effort forth and gave us this wonderful gift so soon. I can't imagine how I'd be able to cope with the extreme feelings of elation, flattery, and sense of accomplishment juxtaposed with the indirect "pressure" of trying to give people what they'd like as soon as they'd like it; just trust me when I say that your hard work didn't go unnoticed. Again, I thank you for all of this. (Now go get some sleep!)
Hearing this played with no mistakes is amazing! This is one of the coolest pieces of music I’ve ever heard! And at 17! Gosh, I hope I can get to your level of composition... Your intent for the song comes across so strong that I can see the whole entire countryside! I’m really excited to see what you do in the future!
Me after 24 hours of intermittent rigadoon whistling: joyful mood despite loads of work, sick kid at home and lack of sleep ... this is a magic trick! Seriously, I have enjoyed this so much. Part of the fun was watching Eddy and Brett picking up the vibe of the piece more and more and trying to do a good job... Thank you Alex
For Asian, it’s hard to have a wedding in the mountain of such high sea level, but this piece gave me a fantasy that, I want to have a wedding with mountains surrounding us, and someone would play this piece for my wedding🥰🥰
Impressed by your composing skills, thanks for sharing both the sheet music and the Noteperformer rendering!!! Please keep composing and posting. And we would of course be amazed if you record your own performance of it!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏🙏
Please put this on Spotify! It's so good I wanna blast it in my car! Also, I'm a dancer myself and I can really hear the language of dance, like the back and forth in this. Keep up the good work! :)
Countryside Rigadoon will be available for streaming and download everywhere sometime in the next few days. I will announce it when it's available, so stay tuned! (:
I imagine the first section as two people running toward each other on a wide, sunny hill. The second, they embrace. Third, they hold hands as they run together to get married. This is a beautiful piece that evokes such pleasant emotions; the narrative is so clear to me. This could be part of a ballet or something. You are so incredibly talented!
Coming from TwoSet, I'm so happy to have found your own channel! This piece is just absolutely amazing - although to be honest, personally I do like it better in a slightly slower tempo, like the way Brett and Eddy played it. Its beauty seems easier to perceive that way, while still being very festive. But I'm hoping to check out your channel further, and see what other gems I can find there.
Alex LaMotte, I am here from TwoSetViolin, and I just have to say, this is such a brilliant piece. Right at 1:47 before I realised it, I had a huge smile on my face while I could visually imagine myself on the top of a mountain, as the breeze crashed onto my face. This was an absolute treat. Please, keep on continuing what you are doing.
Idk why the first third felt much more wedding-y than the other parts. The second third felt more at peace and like I had to sit up right while the last third felt like I'm running in a field in a movie and that's the setting for the scene where I sing my I Want song but rn it's just the beginning and it's so nice 10/10 would ask my spouse if they're down to have this at our wedding
It made me think of my hometown, which is in the mountainous region of my country, when I listened to it. Made me cry. Please continue making amazing music sir.
I could see this song being in the beginning of a whimsical movie about a small fairy village. I love it so much. It feels very whimsical and makes me happy :)
If I don't get the chance, just once in my life, to put on a long flowy dress and put flowers in my hair and dance around on a mountainside field to this song, I am suing lol. I want this played at my wedding so badly 💖
Yay!!! I was blown away when TwoSet played this and kept watching that bit over and over!
