Whenever I'm down and out and feel like the 52 year old I am, I just crank this album and recall all the good times back in the day and keep rocking on!
You are NOT a sad old man, all alone and dying of cancer! Rock on and enjoy life. I'm the same age and I get the blues too. But there is plenty to enjoy in life, like music like this.
hahaha I took a screenshot of your comment! Great comment 👌 But I think I’m the biggest Pink Floyd fan in here! Don’t know why I say that. Just feels true. I love much other music, but Pink Floyd somehow hit me emotionally - harder, deeper and longer than other music.
I'm an old dog who heard Money over the phone for my first hearing Pink Floyd, I was 14. I fell in love. I know every word to every album. Animals is the best Floyd album ever. Take it to the bank.
I was 13 years old when I first listened to this album and I have loved PF ever since. I would put my headphones on listen to the entire album and forget about my troubles. I’ll be 59 in a few days and this song album takes me back to a simpler time. Thanks Pink Floyd 😊
I got a late start on this band ..years ago a buddy let me borrow a pink Floyd cassette when I was not familiar with their other songs...and I was out for a run with head phones on and I was melting into this song but I start hearing Dogs barking thinking im about to get attacked from behind..and quickly spin to protect myself..no dog was there but I begin running and hear it again and quickly look...of course thats when I realized it was the music...I also did not know the song title was actually dogs!....I definitely felt like a special type of stupid.....i wish it was on camara or someone witnessed it...its actually a fond memory for me
Animals is such a brilliant track. Not many people take the time to really let go and listen. Not to mention the story behind the lyrics. Chilling. I'm about 10 years behind my time, but have always felt a special connection with Pink Floyd and have taken trips all around the world, without leaving my house.
no...so much went into this album..guitar..lyrics..dynamics....amazing...you are not alone in this belief..it is in some ways another sad, yet powerfully charged emotional album....leading up to more great emotional music....this is about the best in emotional aspects and reflection on our souls...thank you for feeling as I do... :)
Pink Floyd- najpiękniejsze moje muzyczne wzruszenia. "Sheep" etc.
Pink Floyd were always brilliant, yet for me this song is their masterpiece. It’s just them. It’s vulnerable, it’s visceral, and so original. The cool thing about the 70s is that everyone had the same gear but their own individual music. What a beautiful era....
Pazzesco!
I was in high school 1971-1975 and Pink Floyd was some of the best camping music in the desert here in Southern California at around 3:00 am. Everyone staring into the campfire, quiet as hell. Off into their own thoughts. If you get my meaning...:)
I was just remembering this concert in 77. I was Tripping my ASS off. Still one of my favorite concerts I was 16 yrs old. The Pig turned and looked right down at me like it knew I was there. Out of all those people, why did it turn and tip downward rocking back and forth saying YOU, YOU'RE stoned!!!!! LOL Awesome, I miss the 70's The best of times ever
PasswordBosco big time! Same here so called was such a bitchen place to grow up back then . It sucks that that's all gone now these kids won't get to know what it was like sad
My favorite album to listen to in my tiny room in the frat house in 83,84, especially when it would rain outside, I worked 11-7 in the morning two nights a week, come back to the room, put on animals at 0730 and just float away, what a serene time, thank you for posting, best pink floyd album

The best way to listen to this album is through headphones. I also had this on 8 track when it came out, at least 3 times a week for months when I went to bed I'd put on headphones put Animals in my trusty 8 track and slowly zone out. A total MASTERPIECE!!
Before I joined the army I had a chance to meet David Gilmour I told him hia art inspired me in more ways than I thought imaginable. He was truly receptive . one my only hero's
My favorite album of all time... By any band. Dogs is one of the best musical progressions that I have ever experienced. Thank you, for posting this epic album. :)
"What'd ya play?" "Oh, just a couple old Pink Floyd songs...Dogs and Echoes. After they're done, we can leave." "But the bar's still open for another hour." "Yep!"
Still my all time favorite band 32 years later...I remember the first time I heard them like it was yesterday. It blew me away then and carries me away still. I love it. I prefer the edgier darker Floyd with Roger Waters like this one especially, Animals is still my favorite album though I love them all from Atom Heart Mother on, but I am old and a bit on the dark side myself. ;)
I've cleaned many of seed betwinxt the folds of this album. Oh what sweet bliss with my girl freind in Marin Cali, as we both gazed at the Golden Gate. How I miss the 70's and my blond, waist length hair.
this was my first Floyd album, listened to in the dark on headphones in my room ,haha,i can see myself now.Music can evoke such clear memories of times long past( i was about 14 or 15 .im 55 now),and yes,i think this album is one of their best too.
I saw them which when they did their "Animals" tour in 1977 in Oakland California. I have never seen a show so powerful or engrossing, before or since. When they did "Welcome to the Machine", between the music and the video on the 48' screen and the way the entire Colosseum shook at every down beat....Have never forgotten.
it's only got 5 fairly simple riffs that anybody learning the guitar can play to be honest. Pink Floyd were never complicated but they always had "feel" and this song has it in spades. The best thing they ever did IMHO and one of the bleakest, darkest songs ever written. The end refrain is awesome.
luka kandaurishvili this album is really awesome, i felt this in Mushrooms and the experience is so fast... the dimention that you watched in the trip is more intensifity with the solos of David, really awesome
Some of Dave Gilmour's finest lead guitar , expressive, angry , melodic, powerful playing, an amazing track by one of the greatest Rock Bands of all time......
Yesterday I was challenged to share my 10 favorite albums of all time. Among others, I remembered this album, which I listened to a long time ago, when I was a child, and it marked me somehow! I did not remember the songs very well, but the title of the album "ANIMALS" was that I came here to check it again. Now I'm sure this is my favorite floyd album, for sure, for sure...
New to Pink Floyd but early on, I can say this is their best song, even ahead of Comfortably Numb. Dogs is bigger and more ambitious. One of the best songs I have heard.
U GOTTA KEEP RUNNING!! LOOKING OVER URR SHOULDER? NO TRUER WORDS WERE EVER SPOKEN! I'VE BEEN AROUND A LONG TIME! ONE OF THE OLD SONGS THAT STILL MAKES ME THINK AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!
Who in their right mind could thumbs down this record?? My guitar teacher gave me a copy of Animals on cassette and I listened to it on my Walkman endlessly on the way to and from school. it's had such a profound impact on me as a musician..thank you for posting!
MY step mom got me this album when I was 16 or so in 2002. I never heard the album before so it was kinda a weird gift for me at the time. I didn't know it would become my favorite album. The memories that flood me of getting baked and making macramé bracelets for friends and spacing out in my room. good times with these songs. The other albums too but this one has a special place in me heart.
"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so when they turn their backs on you, you've got the chance to put the knife in" Bitter truth.☝️ Love pink Floyd, just can't find anything to their match. They were flawless 👌
Contains one of the most overlooked and great guitar solos. Don’t understand the people who give this a thumbs down, they must all be Milli Vanilli fans.
When I was young... before 2 years old.... I standed up on my knees and I started to walk on this song..... Just to walk to my Daddy to mean... "Change the song on the Vinyle please Daddy !!!... I want to listen the song with the "Bass intro" on this album !!!.... 43 after, I'm still still playing the Bass Guitar, and it's my job !!! ;) ) (So precious are the Floyds for me !!!! ;-) ) ..... ;)
Funny, I was reading Animal Farm and thought seemed connected to this album, then a few days later read a review of all their albums and it confirmed it. I never knew that before
Best four albums back-to-back-to-back-to-back by anyone, ever. Period. All Art. All flow together as one "album" and tell a story. All have layers of sound. Nobody will ever have four straight like this. Revolver-Sergeant Pepper's-MMT-The White album may be the closest, but MMT bot epic like these four pieces of art which will sound fresh in 200 years. There are levels and Pink Floyd is at the Mozart (highest level). Prince is up there too. Mind-boggling what Pink Floyd did over that span. May be 4 of the best 20 R&R albums ever. All in a row. Bless those four boys. And Syd. We are luck to have experienced this phenomenon. Beyond music.
Pink Floyd is my inspiration to create music, i want to make music in such a way that pink floyd did. Obviously im not gonna copy them. But they are my inspiration
I'm 55 years old. My mates and I grew up on this genius although to be honest we never really realised at the time just how awesome this art really was. We took it for granted. I still love it. Roger Waters v Jay Z? Like Camembert v a cow pat...
Who's listening to this timeless masterpiece in 2023 !?
Whenever I'm down and out and feel like the 52 year old I am, I just crank this album and recall all the good times back in the day and keep rocking on!
You are NOT a sad old man, all alone and dying of cancer! Rock on and enjoy life. I'm the same age and I get the blues too. But there is plenty to enjoy in life, like music like this.
Wait till you see 60 LoL - God bless you
You got that right
Gotta love pedotainment
I’m 52, just recently
Oh man, this album is timeless! 100 billion galaxies and we got the one with Pink Floyd! Right on!
hahaha I took a screenshot of your comment! Great comment 👌 But I think I’m the biggest Pink Floyd fan in here! Don’t know why I say that. Just feels true. I love much other music, but Pink Floyd somehow hit me emotionally - harder, deeper and longer than other music.

A timeless classic. In my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written on one of the best albums ever produced.
Album gives me eargasms 🤣🤣
It should be Gospel
Is that Ian?
Yes!
@@jeffhemstreet2115 It certainly is. I'd say this is musical canon, no doubt.
One of the greatest songs ever recorded.

I continue to listen it today. What a masterpiece!
I was 13 when this was released, never stopped listening.

I'm about 10 years behind my time, but have always felt a special connection with Pink Floyd and have taken trips all around the world, without leaving my house.
By far one of the most underrated albums in existance and Floyd's best work!
I first heard this album when I was five. It was and continues to be my very most favorite album ever.
Both - (saw it in Cleveland)
wendylana333 u think its better than wish or division bell
This is my favorite song of all time
You're right, it's a totally killer song!!!!
You got me crazy...
My favorite band of all time! Great song, I agree!
The solo is amazing, maybe the best I've ever heard.
One good reason being that Animals has some of Guilmour's best playing, especially on Dogs.
Am i the only who think this is the best album of them?
no...so much went into this album..guitar..lyrics..dynamics....amazing...you are not alone in this belief..it is in some ways another sad, yet powerfully charged emotional album....leading up to more great emotional music....this is about the best in emotional aspects and reflection on our souls...thank you for feeling as I do... :)

William Easterbrook homie I told him to fuck off cause hes fishing for attention like an attention whote.

Why is always this song so thrilling, powerful but at the same time relaxing?
First time I listened to this, I was stoned as hell. I love so many of their songs but this has to be my favorite.
back in HS (2004) me and my buddies used to hot box my car and listen to Floyd for hours. fantastic times
From 1 year's trip ... but still so far ahead into mind illuminated trips thru time ... and find your way out of the Maze
Call me baby I'll take care of it

Orange sunshine secenol and Bella Donna made it beautiful !
Lisa Bella Donna dai Lisa fai la brava
for me it was "Pigs Three Different Ones" but it is one of their best
Will you marry me?
Yes mame
Pazzesco!
I was in high school 1971-1975 and Pink Floyd was some of the best camping music in the desert here in Southern California at around 3:00 am. Everyone staring into the campfire, quiet as hell. Off into their own thoughts. If you get my meaning...:)
yep
Understood!

I was lucky enough to catch this concert in 77. It cost $9.50 to get in. That will not buy you a beer at a concert today
Stephen Neal - we must be happy when we know now today, that we could grow up with the best music of all time before and music will come in the futur...we are thankful!
Anaheim 77
What was the minimum wage? Like 2 dollar an hour?
tbf 10$ in 77 is about 40$ today
Did you mean 1977 ?
One of the best grooves in rock history is during the line "and it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around"
I first heard this in 1977 and was mesmerized, I still am , takes me right back to when I was 28
Rick Wright is the most Under appreciated musician in the 2nd half of the 20th century. I swear the keyboards from mid 10 min to 11:30 or Dogs is maybe the best thing ever played by any keyboardist ever. His work on this album and Live at Pompeii is otherworldly. RIP.
Leon Andrew Yeah, Rick is the basement o PF. Which one is pink?, Wrigth is Mr. Pink
Yeah and Rodger forced him out the band after this album Richard resigned as Rodger said he wasn’t contributing anything to the band anymore but he has since admitted that he was wrong but Richard said he’d checked out while making this album and after that he rejoined but never made up with Rodger again. So sad.
How could anyone not like this? It never gets old.
i can never turn away from this
You got to be crazy, gotta have a real need
Gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street
You got to be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight
You got to strike when the moment is right without thinking.
And after a while, you can work on points for style
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake
A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older
Yeah, and in the end you'll pack up, fly down south
Hide your head in the sand
Just another sad old man
All alone and dying of cancer.
And when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around
So have a good drown, as you go down, all alone
Dragged down by the stone.
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?
Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friend
And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everything's done under the sun
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.
Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with collar and chain
Who was given a pat on the back
Who was breaking away from the pack
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
Who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone.

He seems like such a nice, approachable guy. Unlike Roger Waters.
My favorite album of all time... By any band. Dogs is one of the best musical progressions that I have ever experienced. Thank you, for posting this epic album. :)

Pink Floyd is the best band ever on this planet
U GOTTA KEEP RUNNING!! LOOKING OVER URR SHOULDER? NO TRUER WORDS WERE EVER SPOKEN! I'VE BEEN AROUND A LONG TIME! ONE OF THE OLD SONGS THAT STILL MAKES ME THINK AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!
This is the longest song I've listened to. Sooo beautiful :')
The fact that I love dogs makes it even better.
Damn I'm drunk
@Dario Valente I fucking love Echoes!! My favourite Pink Floyd song. I especially like the Pompeii version.
@Dario Valente Very nice song. Especially the guitar solo.
Who in their right mind could thumbs down this record?? My guitar teacher gave me a copy of Animals on cassette and I listened to it on my Walkman endlessly on the way to and from school. it's had such a profound impact on me as a musician..thank you for posting!
Easily my favorite Floyd album
MY step mom got me this album when I was 16 or so in 2002. I never heard the album before so it was kinda a weird gift for me at the time. I didn't know it would become my favorite album. The memories that flood me of getting baked and making macramé bracelets for friends and spacing out in my room. good times with these songs. The other albums too but this one has a special place in me heart.
Simply amazing.
Perfect song for the days we're in... be well all.
"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so when they turn their backs on you, you've got the chance to put the knife in"
Bitter truth.☝️
Love pink Floyd, just can't find anything to their match. They were flawless 👌
Contains one of the most overlooked and great guitar solos. Don’t understand the people who give this a thumbs down, they must all be Milli Vanilli fans.
This song is so beautiful. Of all of the 17:08 not one second lacks perfection
Pink Floyd is the best band ever open my mind and I feel free
I now I can be freed
It is! One of the best! Floyd was and still is a great!!!!
music written and performed from the soul is timeless..majic
Yes
Awesome tune to chill with
Najlepszy utwór, najlepsza płyta Pink Floyd !
Love the badass guitar on this song.
When I was young... before 2 years old.... I standed up on my knees and I started to walk on this song..... Just to walk to my Daddy to mean... "Change the song on the Vinyle please Daddy !!!... I want to listen the song with the "Bass intro" on this album !!!.... 43 after, I'm still still playing the Bass Guitar, and it's my job !!! ;) ) (So precious are the Floyds for me !!!! ;-) ) ..... ;)
My favorite song on what is possibly my favorite Floyd album. It doesn't get much better than this.
just got to see roger in boston and he played this, one of the most amazing concerts i have ever seen
roger waters is a punk!!!!!!!!!!!! david gimore is the sane backbone!
The whole of dark side of the moon, echoes, this
This song is LEGIT! Guitar and Lyrics are just insanely good
Waters and Gilmore = Plant and Page as the greatest ever
200 years from now Pink Floyd will be regarded the same as Beethoven. Phenomenal.
Uff floyd and beethoven in a different dimension .. both wuld shine tru!👉🍺 cheers
That solo at the 5:33 mark is probably one of my favorite solos of all time...
Better and bigger than anything Beatles ever did.
Funny, I was reading Animal Farm and thought seemed connected to this album, then a few days later read a review of all their albums and it confirmed it. I never knew that before
I always connected this to animal farm also .. however I never knew it actually was. Very cool 😎
best 4 albums,Dark Side Of The Moon,Wish You Were Here,Animals and The Wall
Jeffrey Garvin and Meddle
YES
Dont forget The Division Bell!! even tho Waters was gone by then its still amazing!
Middle (Pompeii) is my favorite but they are all excellents
Like Camembert v a cow pat...
yes in a sense we did ! we thought it was all great and that it would continue forever !!!
that period in time would last forever !!!
