Okay, I just proved that I know nothing about mixing colors. Red and blue does NOT make green, and that was NOT how the old Ziploc commercials went. I said it, was proud I remembered. Edited the video, was happy to reference some nostalgia. Totally screwed it up. I'm going to go drown my sorrows on BigBadToyStore! bit.ly/3S0gcT6
It's okay. You're just being on-brand. Your evil alternate self would be "The Robo Who Knows Too Much", and we are lucky that your blissful ignorance of the universe's dark knowledge is keeping your counterpart at bay. Knowing how random old household appliance commercials went would only be the start of the nightmare!
Hey my Carnage figure from the Venompool wave’s ankle peg/hinge broke a couple of months ago and i don’t know what I could use to replace the piece, does anyone have any ideas
As a miniature painter of 30-something years (mostly WH40K) your first attempt at slapchop is absolutely excellent! You’re always your own worst critic when it comes to painting, and you’re the only one who’ll ever notice the imperfections! 😊
I can definitely attest to that, I started painting minis last year and I think they look terrible but I have friends who want to pay me to paint theirs. So I've tried to go easy on myself 😅
Sculpting and making vehicles and dioramas is definitely relaxing. It does bring bliss to me. Not thinking about politics, work, being a dad, a husband… just creating. It’s bliss.
I picked up the chrome pens you showed off with your gold Spiral, and while the gold and bronze don't wow me, the silver is GORGEOUS. I've gone a little overboard shining up every blade in my figure collection.
Well since ya mention “milking the cow” and “defending the homestead”, now you gotta find a comically tiny cowboy hat to put between hammerhead’s eyes haha. Would complete the western look and make him look like he could be part of Cad Bane’s gang haha
I don't have an attachment to Cassandra Nova but that custom of her looks so cool and I think I like Warren aka Angel in blue more than the red on him, Overall, Fantastic customs all around Robo.
Two sentences that I will cherish : "If I gotta sand and coat all those stuff with no scratch nothing will ever be done" & "My favorite part is buying fodder" It speaks volumes to me But my minds really wants it to be perfect and no scratching so here I am now, buying fodders and not having them finished
your N’astirh painting process gave me the idea of how i could repaint my grey beast into the classic blue beast so hopefully it works and i don’t screw it up😍
8:32 Same boat Robo, used that extra long haired Sharon head on the retro Invisible Woman, then realised that the photo real made that face look much nicer than the rest of that team, but as you often say on a shelf from a regular distance it's not noticeable.
Suggestion: If you want your eye glow to pop more, try painting it first in white then yellow on top for a more pronounced appearance. Also, great job on Nitro, the simple fact you got Liquitex Fluid paint to work like normal paint is amazing, given that it's meant more for acrylic pours and less for object painting.
I love play days. 😍 I did the same with that Moonstone head for an unmasked Ladypool (until I can get a nice *spoiler* head sculpt) from the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, even though she isn't ever unmasked in it.
Another Playday is always a great day. Glad to know the pinched nerve thing is getting better! Also just wanted to say, your recent Mythic Legions review has essentially caused me to go all in on the line. Two arrived the other day with five more figures coming today, and I got like 6 others on preorder. So damn you but also thank you. Edit for grammar
Somehow I was unsubscribed from your channel and got thinking last night I haven't seen a video from Robo in a while! I am subscribed again and glad to be enjoying your videos once again. Love your channel man. Cheers Buddy, Enjoy your day Robo!
Robo...big fan of u and your show...Sad news my friend did u hear about Astonishing X men Artist Cassiday passed away just few days back ..he was in his early 50's. gone way too young ,may he R.I.P. 🙏
I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck as well. Now I have an excuse to get back to painting customs! "No honey, this is physical therapy! Really!"
This is exactly what I needed this week! I dont airbrush, but I've been using mini painting techniques for a long time, and they're a LOT more satisfying to pull off on action figures. Your work looks fantastic. Remember, one man's "proof of concept custom" is another man's "standard NECA retail release". (JK JK I love boiling and gluing stuff) I actually might try the reverse, now - seeing you use those Gundam markers to do the eyelashes makes me want to use those on miniatures for shading in eye areas and whatnot more precisely.
So glad to see the results of the long awaited customs, like Cassandra nova and especially the green N’astirh (love to see the red version some day) I love angel in his blue suit
I've been trying to remember to mix and match matt and gloss varnishes on different areas. Gloss on eyes and reptilian etc. or matt finish the whole figure then gloss on top certain areas to give contrast.
Robo gets it! In fact, the joy of tinkering is exactly why I'm so resistant to 3D printing--it takes the months or, heck, sometimes years long process of finding the perfect techniques and materials to finish a project and reduces it to sitting at a computer and letting the machine do the fun parts for me. Cue the banjo I guess, but is the hier-art-chy really all that when the difference between trash and treasure is a mere $200 worth of consumer electronics? I don't know people, I just wanna have fun with toys!
My go-to paints have been The Army Painter for a few years now. At this point, the only reason I bother with others is to use up old stock from the before TAP times.
Just something to be aware of when it comes to using Gundam markers on certain plastics outside of model kits, there can be some funky chemical reactions that can occur. I think most standard action figures are fine due to the rubbery PVC plastic that's used (I've used them on my Black Series clone troopers in the past to add the black ring around the helmets), but when it comes to using them on things like Transformers figures, apparently the "unpaintable" nylon plastic parts used on a lot of their joints tends to turn extremely brittle and shatters like glass whenever a Gundam marker has been used on it. Again, this probably won't affect the action figures themselves, but I would be mindful of certain 3D printed materials, just in case.
Okay, I just proved that I know nothing about mixing colors. Red and blue does NOT make green, and that was NOT how the old Ziploc commercials went. I said it, was proud I remembered. I was just coming to leave a comment😂
@RoboDontKnow even the kindegarteners are sighing, Robo 😂

It's ok, dance a jig and all is forgiven.💯
As a miniature painter of 30-something years (mostly WH40K) your first attempt at slapchop is absolutely excellent! You’re always your own worst critic when it comes to painting, and you’re the only one who’ll ever notice the imperfections! 😊
I really am, I just can't help it, especially with something new like this. And eyes. Even as I'm doing it I'm all "Ugh, stop, terrible." haha.
I can definitely attest to that, I started painting minis last year and I think they look terrible but I have friends who want to pay me to paint theirs. So I've tried to go easy on myself 😅
The Excuse Jig is a worthy addition to this video series, Robo.
"The Excuse Jig" is now my go to bit for happy accidents during customizing.
Haha, I love it!
Hi Robo. Your N'astirh figure is outstanding. The paint job is exceptional.
Thanks, I appreciate that! I was worried it wouldn't work, so happy it did!
The Excuse Jig has _gotta_ be part of a the Play Day intro if it ever gets one! Just perfectly captures the Play Day vibe 😊
Came for the play day, stayed for the Jig!
pinched nerves SUCK, robo. I'm glad you're feeling better and that the customs kept you sane!
Love customizing and kitbashing figures! Especially when it all comes together.
Oh yeah, best feeling when that finish line is in sight!
Thank you for sharing the paint info...I have a couple items I want to custom....these videos make me want to do them sooner.
Heyyyy my Spider-Man vs Lizard picture was in the Rebel10 shout out!!!! hahahahaaa
I always love to see your playdays, always gets me into the mood of doing my own customs.
9:46 I giggled because idk if robo knows or not now and that could be a joke or a genuine mistake, we love robo
Sculpting and making vehicles and dioramas is definitely relaxing. It does bring bliss to me. Not thinking about politics, work, being a dad, a husband… just creating. It’s bliss.
Yeah, and it being pain management works twice as nice!
Glad to here your necks feeling better
I picked up the chrome pens you showed off with your gold Spiral, and while the gold and bronze don't wow me, the silver is GORGEOUS. I've gone a little overboard shining up every blade in my figure collection.
It's so easy to do, it's awesome!
I dressed up my Daredevil billy clubs........agree completely very happy with the silver....THX Rob
Well since ya mention “milking the cow” and “defending the homestead”, now you gotta find a comically tiny cowboy hat to put between hammerhead’s eyes haha. Would complete the western look and make him look like he could be part of Cad Bane’s gang haha
That Angel really does look fantastic in blue holy cow!
"Play Day"!!! My FAVORITE!
That N’astirh is absolutely fantastic!
excellent work with those inferno demons!!!! they're fantastic looking!
Deadshot and Cassandra are absolutely AWESOME.
That Cassandra Nova 🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥 beautiful work Rob
The Deadshot is freaking amazing!
Target Tyson checking in…Robo, the “excuse jig” made the Mrs laugh out loud! That’s a glorious addition 😂
I don't have an attachment to Cassandra Nova but that custom of her looks so cool and I think I like Warren aka Angel in blue more than the red on him, Overall, Fantastic customs all around Robo.
Oooh man, I did a jig myself when I heard that banjo lol.
The watcher is peeking at pure awesomeness!👀
This is a hell of a play day. You definitely make me want to try some of these techniques out when I get a good spot to do some painting.
Two sentences that I will cherish : "If I gotta sand and coat all those stuff with no scratch nothing will ever be done" & "My favorite part is buying fodder"
It speaks volumes to me
But my minds really wants it to be perfect and no scratching so here I am now, buying fodders and not having them finished
Great work on that green demon! I might have to try out that painting technique.
your N’astirh painting process gave me the idea of how i could repaint my grey beast into the classic blue beast so hopefully it works and i don’t screw it up😍
That Cassandra Nova is dope!
You could use the sharron carter head on older Emma Frost figures so it has some face printing.
Everything looks great, Robo.
Very glad you're recovering Robo, all of these are looking damn good
Thanks man, it's nice to feel semi-good after a rough couple of months.
man, N'Astirh just ended AWESOME!!! Pro Job, man, pro job!
Fantastic play day, Robo!
That Deadshot is awesome. Love all those silver buckles! Great to see all these finished projects
Play days my fave!
Mmm thanks for the tipon Speed paints!
He looks amazing.
I was out on 3.75 Star Wars but then i realized they give them actual articulation now and some of them are kinda fun
Love that Nitro!
8:32 Same boat Robo, used that extra long haired Sharon head on the retro Invisible Woman, then realised that the photo real made that face look much nicer than the rest of that team, but as you often say on a shelf from a regular distance it's not noticeable.
Play day! I've been waitin'.
Bro that crossfire is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I gotta mention how epic your shirt is.
To sum it up..there’s no wrong way to play 😃🙌🏽
Those customs look good.
I was thinking of getting the Captain Rogers body for Nick Jr., also.
Play Day is the best day!
It really is!
Nice customs, Robo! Makes me want to revisit some that I have parked. Last one I was working on was a custom Dr. Occult figure from DC.
And that demony winged fella... You did a brilliant job. I'd imagine that working on the Select Annihilus too
Love a surprise play day!!
Dang now i really want a blue Angel
Suggestion: If you want your eye glow to pop more, try painting it first in white then yellow on top for a more pronounced appearance.
Also, great job on Nitro, the simple fact you got Liquitex Fluid paint to work like normal paint is amazing, given that it's meant more for acrylic pours and less for object painting.
Love your dance, Robo!
I love play days. 😍 I did the same with that Moonstone head for an unmasked Ladypool (until I can get a nice *spoiler* head sculpt) from the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, even though she isn't ever unmasked in it.
I highly recommend pro acryl paints, i got a few of them to try, and now its my go-to brand for all of my customs
I've been eyeballing those and Army Painter Fanatics.
I feel like more toy videos should start with a little jig celebration dance.
Btw, that custom N'tashr is amazing in every way.
aw yeah fresh Play Day!
The music of the excuse jig hits home.
Dang! That Batgirl cape is perfect.
23:33 - "You come home, ya fiddle a little bit...." Editing Robo missed a great chance to drop the jig music in right here!
For a first go round with speedpaint it looks great. They’re a great tool
Love the sentiment shared at the end of this video. Cheers Robo! 🍻

Cap doffed on the N'astirh, great job. I used the Sharon Carter for a quick head swap to make a Husk from the M figure.
Somehow I was unsubscribed from your channel and got thinking last night I haven't seen a video from Robo in a while! I am subscribed again and glad to be enjoying your videos once again. Love your channel man. Cheers Buddy, Enjoy your day Robo!
Your Cassandra Nova is great.
The excuse jig is so apt to my life 😂 enjoy the videos dude
Robo...big fan of u and your show...Sad news my friend did u hear about Astonishing X men Artist Cassiday passed away just few days back ..he was in his early 50's. gone way too young ,may he R.I.P. 🙏
that speed paint looks amazing!
LOVE THESE!!!!! All of ‘em!
I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck as well. Now I have an excuse to get back to painting customs! "No honey, this is physical therapy! Really!"
It works, I swear!
Dude! Your paints are very clean. The figures look like official factory paint. Very nice.
15:56 oh man, at first I thought Sentry was blushing... with yellow😂
Always love hearing Anthanatos get a shout out!
Glad to be getting some bluegrass here on Robo don’t know!
I’m stealing the ‘excuse jig’ !!! It must be shared with all!!
This is exactly what I needed this week!

the green demon guy came out amazing
So glad to see the results of the long awaited customs, like Cassandra nova and especially the green N’astirh (love to see the red version some day)
I love angel in his blue suit
Red N'astirh is definitely still on the table!
Thanks so much for sharing Robo!
I've been trying to remember to mix and match matt and gloss varnishes on different areas. Gloss on eyes and reptilian etc. or matt finish the whole figure then gloss on top certain areas to give contrast.
I have found good results when using cheap acrylics (even dollar store paints), mixing them 1/1 ratio with matte mod podge , thinned down of course.
Learned a lot from this video, thank you
16:03 "....pretend you are just a whisper..."-Bob Ross 🙃
The excuse jig has me rolling 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
play day!!!!!
The new Sentry head on that Angel custom would look like him in Avenger vs X-Men #4,or paint the halo and he would look exactly like Excalibur Angel
Darn it Robo, that NFJ looks so good I'm rethinking my own custom. Now I gotta find a cheap Commander Rogers buck to kitbash. 😅 Good on you man.
I bought that commander Rogers for that Nick Fury Jr. custom. I’m colorblind so good luck to me getting the skin tone right.
I hope to someday find " right out of the bottle" colors for all skintones!
Oh damn. You got a Nitro 😮😮
Just something to be aware of when it comes to using Gundam markers on certain plastics outside of model kits, there can be some funky chemical reactions that can occur.

YAY!!
Love it man
Makes a crappy day less crappy. Robo does know.
We love matte!
We really do!
