ill be showing this show to my kids for years to come cuz i can still remember watching this with my dad.. sad they stopped filming but all good things must end someday
I'm actually astonished at that 180 degree bent barrel working AND still retaining lethality, Just bonkers! Loved this episode, it felt like some of the much older ones. And those new animations are wonderful, reminds me of Gorillaz 😊 22:29 🤭😆🤣
47:48 One second Jamie's acting like his bored of all this movie movie magic business and just says the cameraman will take care of the rest and the very next second he ask why they "park on the other side of the hill" as if not knowing it's for a "walk off into the sunset" shot (I don't think they parked there either).
The 40 cal bullet hit the tape measure right in the centre where it is mostly plastic or air. Further out it would be hitting the edge of a coiled up spool of spring stell which I would guess is a very tough material to go through.
look at the footage again, the one shot first is yellow, the second up close is shot center, the one tory is holding was hit off center, that means they tested it several times.
The cartoons on this episode are really good. Who did the animations? I checked the credits and didn't see a credit to anything like animation. There are credits for executives who've probably never seen the show; but nothing I saw for whoever did the quick draw of the gunfight.
Well for starters, Cody'sLab video: Will Gunpowder Burn In Liquid Nitrogen? (cold gun part 2) shows gunpwder burns at least down to Ln2 temp. And note that -273 only applies for extended time in darkness, slowly losing heat solely by radiative cooling. In sunlight things in space still get quite hot, it's worse than on Earth since the vacuum insulates and the sunlight is more intense. ISS needs giant radiators for this exact reason
I thought for sure the deep fried gun would fail. I thought the oil would completely ruin the bullet. Seep into it and saturate the oil so it couldn't fire. Or even melt the lead before it had a chance to go off.
there's something that's making me lose sleep and is the fact that in the channel info it says "all content distributed by Banijay Rights." there is indeed "Banijay Science" channel which also has full mythbusters episodes , though there's also other science videos. the only difference is that the other channel does not have the master chef logo for the videos
Distributed doesn't necessarily mean owned, they likely don't actually have the rights to do this, but they aren't claiming it's them. Although the BBC Master Chef UK watermarks are a little confusing.. considering Mythbusters had a british Narrator in the UK.
What all these gun myths always seem to prove is that raw power combined with centuries of deliberate engineering has produced quite the little reliable machines of death.
unfortunatelly it's not a very good vacuum as you can basically still hear all the noises produced inside it - which means there is plenty of medium to carry sound waves - so not sure how representative this test is - would be interesting to try a more real vacuum .. For testing purposes they could've also just replaced the oxigon with CO2 or any other heavier gas to displave the O2 first .. but I guess there is simply enough o2 trapped inside the bullet to trigger it anyway .. noone would try to fill a bullet under vaccuum I guess to get it rid of that :-)
The bit about killing the wolf pisses me off. I spent my summers living in a one room log cabin in the wood until I was 15. The local wolf pack would come and sniff around the cabin every evening at sundown. They didn't bother us and we didn't bother them. They were just curious about who was there. One night grandpa went to the outhouse in the middle of the night and when he was ready to come back, saw the wolves on the lawn between him and the cabin. He closed the door made himself comfortable and went to sleep. Had an interesting story to tell in the morning.
When I was in junior high school a classmate brought a 22lr round and put it in the hot boiling beeswax in the metal work shop and it blew up in a different classmates face and he was burned quite bad.
The bullets coming out of the curved barrels are clearly immediately tumbling in the direction of the bend, making them significantly less accurate and less powerful over a distance, making the use of a gun kind of redundant. They should have taken them to a range to aim at distant targets, instead of just proving they fire and impact at point blank range.
Yeah, but on the other hand who keeps coins in their folding wallet? It either is loose in your pocket (like me) or if you want to get fancy about it, a coin purse. (Maybe the occasional person does it but I can't imagine it's common.)

that isn't a perfect vacuum so it nulls the whole experiment, perhaps if they had used some inert gas and then pulled their weak vacuum, the results would be completely different. Edit: but then again the bullets go off underneath oil so idk there must be an oxidizer of some sort added to the modern gunpower then right?
Not just modern smokeless powder, all gunpowder. It contains its own source of oxygen. It doesn't take oxygen from the surrounding air. The idea that a lack of air in a vacuum would be a problem is the result of some poor research on their part.
these guys werent very smart.... they put the electric sparks, below the gas, instead of above it..... they didnt know gas goes UP? incredible..... and now grant isn't alive
As if it would make a difference to the tiny volume of near vacuum gas that was already energized and hot. What exactly does this have to do with Grant's death? Where's the connection between gas density and his aneurism?

It’s the kinda show you could easily rest for ten years then relaunch with a new cast. You need some time for new myths to be created!
I was 14 coming back from school to watch mythbusters and brainiac, I'm glad I grew up with them. they helped you learn more than any school class
This episode of MasterChef UK is a bit more violent than I anticipated.
bro is that you in your pfp, very nice if so
Deep frying a gun is still less volatile than Gordon Ramsay.
How the hell did they find a location called YOLO County Bomb Range!?!
That place must have been made just for them XD
you are smaller brained than most
yeah mate its in nevada
Yolo County is only about 80miles from Jamie's M5 in SF.
the word yolo has existed long before it became "you only live once", same as "one pot" or "slow food". People just like to reinvent things.
