- Grab yourself some WD40 or something even better from the WD40 specialist range of products and a pair of multi grips and that’s all you need to remove your exhaust rubber hangers
One of the most useful vids on youtube
Cheers 🤘🏻
Absolutely greatest of all time! Tried getting some Grimmspeed hangers off the mount by hand for 25min. Your method took 5 seconds.
Glad it helped! Beauty
Thanks, this would have been really useful when I was installing a tow hitch and nobody listened to me at the very beginning when I said we should take the exhaust off the hangers
Made a five minute job actually five minutes! Thank you!
Ha yeah these can be a real pain 👍🏻
I was about to go to Advanced Auto Parts to get the tool and wanted to see if there is any other option. You are awesome, thanks. Saved me a few bucks and a trip.
Well, thank you so much for making this easy for me. Otherwise I wanna spend hours underneath the car in this hot humid weather. You saved my weekend. Thank you so much.

Very useful thanks a lot
Fantastic video, thanks for the tip!
Cheers 🍻 Glad it was helpful!
Thank you worked great!
You're welcome!
Even better would be to use silicon oil. That won't hurt the rubber like WD40 and similar oils might.
Still an awesome tip!
thank you master
Thank you! That was short and sweet!
You're welcome!
Hi, why do you need to replace this part? If this silencer rubber goes bad? What will happen?
Absolutely BRILLIANT, just what I was looking for. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
@@NatesToolbox Actually I was just about to remove a rear box and was shocked how easily this worked. It just slipped off. Thanks again.
Wow. I'm a bloody idiot. Mine are so rusted on my little nugget I thought they were bloody bolts instead of just being pointed hooks, moron is me 🤦♂. GOOD LORD MAN! Thank you for this saved me the hassle hahaha.
Thanks Nate, took me 60 seconds once I knew how after watching this.
Haha awesome cheers
Thank you Bro
Any time 💪🏻
Great video, works a treat. How do I get them back on, struggling?
Usually they push on, can use the same technique by squeezing with the multi grips. Make sure you use lots of WD40. If that doesn’t work and you have room grab a block of wood and place on the back of the rubber and hit the wood with a hammer
That Was Helpful Thanks
Glad to hear!
The WD40 helped me hugely to get the exhaust rubbers off , but couldn't get the expanding pliers technique to work, was on an MR2 mk2 on the ground so nooo space..
Thanks so much for this video very helpful
Very welcome thanks
Very helpful tip thank you
Thanks 😊
Thank you
You're welcome
Wish I watched this about 2 hours ago. I am in the middle of redoing my exhaust and I was using a screw driver instead of your method. I am such an idiot 😂
I will give your method a go once I continue on the project tomorrow.
Thanks for the video.
Haha thanks we’ve all been there good luck
@NatesToolbox your method worked like a champ, now I am not as much of an idiot as yesterday.🤣🤣🤣
Thanks again for the help.
Looks like a pretty good way to do it. I've always just used a screwdriver and silicone spray.. I'll try this next time.
Hopefully works for you 👍🏻
Good stuff man. Thank you. I was thinking hacksaw or knife. How bout putting new one on?
👍🏻 yeah on is easy because it slips over the point rather than the flat lip coming off
Across the pond= multi grips
Here in America= channel locks😁
Awesome I wonder what the channel part stands for
Hello I have a question my hangers are a complete piece I have the muffler with both rubber pieces and coming off the top metal piece as a flat bar with a couple holes, one round one square
The metal plates that all thr rubber hangers attache to is not attached to my vehicle , but wasn't welded like yours I don't see any weld breaks or marks just the holes, 05 caravan
@Nate's Toolbox I was driving home from work yesterday and unexpectedly heard rattling from under the car whenever the car was moving. After about 15 minutes of driving I heard a loud sound from underneath and in the rear view mirror saw something gray colored and a big bolt come from under the car and roll to the side of the road. In the three or four seconds it took to pull over to the side it sounded like metal rubbing together much louder than the rattling. Do you think what broke could possibly be this in your video?
Oh dear. Possible the exhaust was rubbing on the road but not usually any bolts come off
@@NatesToolbox when I pulled over nothing was hanging. It doesn't make sense unless someone attempted to steal my catalytic converter or a pothole
Great video!
Thanks 😊
Thanks Nate
You’re welcome ❤
I love you.
i bought the exhaust hanger tool for $30 plus tax to use this morning. Haven’t open it yet. May try this method and go get my $30 back.
Haha yeah try it
WD50?
🤫
wish would had seen this before wasting 30 mins trying to fight one!
If you have a screw driver its as simple as putting it through one of the holes and bending till its off....😶no need for wd40
I would t be using WD40 ; I would use Silicone spray
Whsts
Great video, with no bloody annoying background music either, BEAUTY.
Haha Thanks yeah I learnt to ditch the music early on my channel it does get a bit annoying when your trying to learn something 🤣.
