I came here to say this !! They look exactly the same except when they were painting them it looked just little bit darker. All that work for it so look the same is crazy
Often laying down a great paint product with a decent mil-thickness and a microfiber roller works better than foam. Foam rollers often drag the paint across the surface instead of laying it down evenly. For your next project, try using either the Purdy Ultra-Finish (Lowes/Sherwin Williams) or the Wooster MicroPlush (HomeDepot, Benjamin Moore) microfiber rollers… for walls, ceilings, trim, or cabinets, they are BY FAR the best roller for any latex paint project. Happy painting! 🎨
Good job. How did you get the gray color paint? I can't the benjamin more advanced paint in gray. Did you ask a representative in the store to mix that color for you?
You have to use painters tape to remove excess fluff. If preped and painted correctly, there will be no flaws. Light sanding and light on the paint between coats.
You can clean them the same way you would any painted surface! You can use s multipurpose cleaner spray, soap and water, a degreaser cleaner, etc. Just be sure not to really scrub the surface hard or the paint could wear faster.
We spent 1 weekend on the top cabinets and 1 weekend on the bottom. It could go faster if you did them all at once, but we just didn't have the space for that!
You should not be using a brush on cabinets, unless you’re brushing with cabinet grade oil-based paint. If you’re not going to use a quality paint sprayer, then the next best bet is rolling a decently thick (but not runny) coat of cabinet grade paint with a microfiber roller such as a Purdy Ultra-Finish (Lowes/Sherwin-Williams) or a Wooster MicroPlush (Home Depot/Benjamin Moore). Ben Moore’s Advance (paint used in this video) is a great cabinet paint that’s decently user friendly, but you need to always prime with CoverStain or BIN primer (BIN preferable for a flawless finish) before painting for maximum adhesion and durability. #tipsfromapro
The white paint in the before was super dingy, it makes a world of difference seeing the fresh white in person! Also painting the inside of cabinets is not common practice, the paint can chip and wear faster from the friction of the plates and glassware. It also adds a lot more time to the project, so I chose not to. It really is all personal preference though and that's the best part about DIY :)
We decided not to paint our cabinet backs to save time and because half of them were being painted white and they were all ready white on the back of them.
It really is a personal preference whether you paint the inside or not. Since the inside of the cabinets is not visible we chose to leave them unpainted! I would only the paint the inside of cabinets if there was a glass door or the cabinet was open.
@@AngelaMarieMade I was taught if you’re going to do a job do it right the first time. What color was the cabinets, inside and outside before you painted them! Lazy on your part!

@@AngelaMarieMade The inside lip of the cabinet has stain, at least on my doors they do. I’m not talking the complete inside but even in your video you see where it’s incomplete. I’m a stickler for things like that, you don’t see when the door is closed, no big deal
@@AngelaMarieMade Who told you that, your interior designer? 😂 Not painting BOTH sides of your cabinet DOORS is like nails on a chalkboard or cutting a soda can with a serrated knife. Maybe it’s just the video but they look exactly the same to me lol
Yep
Exactly, I could hardly tell the difference myself. The grey paint hardly shows as well 😅😅😅😅.
I just wrote that 😂
That’s what I thought!! 😂😂

Great tutorial :) I find foam rollers are great for this kind of paint. Love the colours
Thanks so much 😊
They aren’t smooth. They have an orange peel texture. I don’t know if it’s the paint or the nap on the roller. From a distance they look nice.
I have repainted mine and a friend's cabinets using the foam roller. It starts out looking like that, but then it smooths itself out.
Did you paint directly on the thermafoil or did you take it off? Also, since you painted it has any paint chipped off at all?
These are laminated cabinets and yes I painted directly on the cabinets after priming. I have since moved but no paint had chipped off before I left!
U did good girl. Good job
Thank you!!
Your voice is so adorable 🥰
Sounds kind of like a lisp.
FYI...if you use a foam roller fir cabinets you will get a perfectly smooth finish

Yes we had the paint color matched so that it was the color Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams in the Benjamin Moore Advanced paint!
Nice orange peel finish.
OMG what is that bottom color? I love
Thanks! Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams
What color paint did u use?
Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams
Came here to say don’t use those rollers but someone beat me to it lol
Used this paint. And no, you *WILL* see imperfections using a roller. You need to spray the fronts, no question.

Wow!! Now looks like an apartment
Bad work
Looks the same to me :)
You need a foam roller. Also, the inside of your doors need to be painted. You selected pretty colors.
Thanks for the tip!
Great job. Love it!
Thank you!
It looks like the same as before.. Also if I take the time to paint my cabinets I will paint inside the same way and color as outside.

Like OMG 😱
They look like fly shyt with ORANGE PEEL
Thanks for watching!
Rolling cabinets is wild that’s real real low budget the texture is crazy to me
No brush. Use foam roller
I see no difference... looks exactly the same
😂 😂 what actually changed
You can see the orange peel texture from a mile away 😂
Use a sponge roller much better
Wait, so you only painted front of doors. Looks terrible on the inside and back of doors
We decided not to paint our cabinet backs to save time and because half of them were being painted white and they were all ready white on the back of them.
They still look cheap because you did not paint the inside of the cabinets! Do it right the first time!

That finish looks pretty bad up close though.

How to paint cabinets...NOT 😂😅😂
Why?
U need to hold the paint brush properly
what a waste...you actually added texture with that roller. but the alkyd paint is good stuff. spray if you care about results.
It does dry smooth, thanks!
