Respect, war sucks, did SADF '89-'90 (yes, in the old Apartheid Army), SIGINT...
Must say some contradictions in the video, there's talk of 3 Months basic training (= new to the military) & other talk of serving 2/3 Years before joining?
Various different SF units work like that, some take in fresh recruits & others demand at least some (minimum basic) training + perhaps experience too.

As a former US Marine, I respect these gentlemen for putting their bodies and lives on the line in defense of their country. The training does not seem easy, but what military training is easy? I hope that China and the US never have to test their might in warfare. Never the less, the warrior spirit is very present in this video. If war over Taiwan does break out, good luck to these young Chinese troops.

This is their basic 3 months of training before they move on to advanced special force training to become a actual Beijing Special Combat Brigade member which will take many months and continuous training. And I am sure they are not going to show that special force training to the outside world. Some critics are blabbering that "this training is nothing," we have so much better and tougher training". These guys are just bare new recruits before they move on to become special force members after many months of training.

that's because it was their first time to meet an enemy that pretends to be a civilian. guerilla warfare is a weakness of a conventional soldier. but if it's country vs country like US vs China it will be much different than vietnam war.. vietnam war was complicated due to the fact that not all of vietnam was US' enemy US soldiers got to decern the difference between south and northern vietnames, and loyalty to one side during that time was not an assurance, vietcongs exploit that fact and vietnam war was not a war of bombs and armies, it was a war of traps and deception
...you laugh at US out of ignorance of the fact that there are different warfare existing and different warfare are treated differently. noobs think war is just picking up guns and shoot the enemy but never realized how complicated it is especially when you add the political side of it.

Cause the US and her allies are battle tested soldiers, sailors and airmen, combat tested pilots and planes..and elite SF of the combine US and allies have real covert missions success or failed still counts

Dave went through the grueling Ranger School program, and made a good buddy that had actually gone through the communist Mainland's Special Forces/Special Operations training agenda. His Buddy was born and raised in Cuba, and spent 4 years in the Cuban military. His Buddy was Airborne, and he was picked to attend the full Chinese SF Training Program. Of course, he defected to the USA, and a year later, joined the US Army. He evaluated the American Ranger School with what he experienced in China. He flately stated that the America training was much tougher, and very much advanced when compared to the Mainland Chinese Training. I'm just telling what I heard. He was an excellent Ranger, and was one of the Top 3 in his class.

I'm sure they get some specialized training that regular PLA recruits don't get during their basic training though. Think of these guys as a mix between the Military and regular police Swat Teams. They are assigned to protect the Elite of Beijing. I highly, highly doubt they are actually sent on high risk missions like hostage rescue, etc.

That is for someone that never been tested against a real enemy. Another point I would like to make is that I would never support someone like you if you ever served. I respect every militaries around the world but especially those that never served and still had the courage and wits to fight against a superior force that realized solely on high technical advances and air superiority. Those that fought against real armies and managed to overcome everything are the ones I show respect. Not to those that makes fun of the enemies.

So, for 21k, a half marathon, they'd need to be running a pace of 4 minutes and 15 seconds per mile. To give you an idea, that's a 5k in about 21 minutes. That's some serious elite level fitness if they can do that with obstacles and the rucksacks they're carrying (and heavy boots).

On top of that the NK were top notch troop who help the CCP to win their civil war. When the real deal came by, the 1st Marine first help to stabilised the Pusan perimeter. Then chase the NK back to NK, almost decimate them until the CCP volunteers came into shore them up. The American were surprise once again, but the 1st Marines held the CCP troops to almost 1:5 ratio & won by keeping units integrity, successfully extract themself, their gears & equipment plus a whole lot of refugees (a huge contrast to what Biden did.) The last time the PLA actually fought in a war occurred in early 1979 between China and Vietnam, it was mostly a draw, with both sides claiming victory. It lasted from Feb 17, 1979 - Mar 16, 1979. Anyone who fought in that war and was anywhere around 20 years old is now at least 65 years old. Any Officers over the age of 30 are at least 75 years old. A bunch of Chinese Military clashed with the Indian Army in hand-to-hand combat somewhere on the border. The Indian Army said that they lost 15 to 20 men, and they estimated that the Chinese lost over 50, but China never produced any number of killed and wounded. This doesn't look like an Elite Fighting Force, but they do look good in parades. I haven't seen choreography like that sine I saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.

These are recruits, not even conventional troops. After training, recruits will re -assign the team according to their personal assessment. It was the real military training at that time.
