    The stop-motion animation at the beginning was really clever.
    I have seen a few examples of these pre-WW II toy tanks, and they are surprisingly realistic as compared to contemporary designs of the actually vehicles.

    Nice restoration of this old toy! A bit of a weird design but even by the 1930s most militaries didn't know what the most effective tank design could or should be. And I guess for the child playing with it, it didnt matter.

    Beautiful job, I'm thinking that one advantage these old toys have for restoration is that the metal is thick and soft making the tabs less likely to break.

    • @recollectable4258
      @recollectable4258  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’re right, Triang toys in particular have very thick metal not sure if the tabs would take a second straiten and bend though.
      I have had them brake before, very frustrating when your finished with spraying or the item is litho printed.

    • @recollectable4258
      @recollectable4258  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I usually use glass bead find this great for most of my projects as it produces less dust. If something is really thick painted I might change to a coarse material. With regards to the pressure I tend to leave the same but will adjust the distance of the gun from the item to suit.

    This was one of the old-timer iron toys that I never found featured on the Chip channel. It's an old-timer combat tank that uses no treads. On 2nd thought, was it supposed to have combat tank treads? It's definitely not a combat tank of the future. 🍟 🍪 🍟

I do have a question though I studied a little on clock repair and you always put a tiny bit of lubricant on the pivots for the mechanism I was wondering why you left most of it un lubricated? @@recollectable4258That is cool dude ! I am in the process of restoring and old school American made Solvent tank its going to be nut n bolt restoration all new wiring lights , pump switches . and paint its built like a German Panzer really thick gauge American made steel . I had it out in the yard for the last 20 years just kept putting on the back burner. I looked on You tube the only videos you can find are Harbor Freight up grades there are no total restorations of American Made Solvent tanks. I think mine might be the only one. I have no clue what the hell I am doing never done this before. I am going to put in a Canister style fuel filter to filter the solvent on the side of the tank I have the filter ordered and on the way. But I have been videoing and it going to go on my New You tube Channel I started last year. Since you are old school like me thought you might be interested. I know on live auctioneers website they call this a tiger tank in quotations. My guess is you took your info from them, and that they used the term tiger as clickbait. The actual German Tiger tank was not in use until 1942 and is a massive scary beast. Unlike this obviously inter war baby. Not a Tiger.

    Hi. Watching the hands with their ten articulating digits, five on each articulating arm, dismantle the intricate toy tank device, supports my long-held belief that aliens have to process equivalent physical attributes to have built their multi-faceted space crafts. The universe follows universal laws of matter. Electricity, for example, has to be harnessed the same way as it is today. This requires intricate construction. So a fat blob of alien being and a inter-planetary space craft are antithetical. Thank you. Good video.

    In some cases I agree that restoring an antique toy would be of interest. However in this case you have destroyed the collectible value completely and ended up with a new/old toy. The cost of restoration rarely justifies the ends.

    • @recollectable4258

      Hi
      Yes in some cases I would agree, I have some items with beautiful patina I wouldn’t want to restore, some I show and others I intend to show on my channel, however in this case the item was rusted both inside and out totally seized and in my opinion was a good candidate to restore,
      most collectors toys are in original condition and its always a matter of personal choice, to me it’s not always about value.

      To what end though? Why does everything have to be a collector piece? This is a toy. Before, it was junk. I would have sat on a shelf in some thrift store or been stored on a shelf with a million other worthless Knick-knacks ready to be carted off to the landfill the next time somebody is clearing house. Now, it’s ready to be properly displayed OR given a second life as a new toy again. Just because it’s not what YOU would do with it, does not mean it’s the wrong thing to do.
