We've wanted to bring you this one for a long time, and it's finally here! This is part 1 of our trip to the snow, and it's not all smooth sailing.
With the weather against us, we have a slow start to our adventure, but what an incredible place to wait out the storm. We love this landscape; it's one of our favourite places to travel.
When the sun finally came out, and the wind died off, we faced another false start. This time it was the Ranger. With Simon at the end of his patience, our new 76 series Landcruiser can't come quick enough!
We finally make it up to Perisher for one of our favourite family days at the snow to date. A cracking spring afternoon, and we're all in high spirits again.

These ones aren't too bad. Snow gums are pretty small trees and branch out from low down. You don't see many dropped limbs off them

great footage on the snow, those runs look so familiar. I can't go there without taking time to walk over the back of the run ( within the boundary) and having 5 minutes . listening to nothing other than currawongs and looking out over the main range.

But then things seem to work out in the end. Sounds like you may have glow plug issues if it wanted to start when the engine bay warmed up. Just a guess.

I think that the diesel is probably the main problem as it gels, maybe try and heat the tank somehow.

Hi folks well nice to see the "official" snow videos. Of course Id seen the fb ones you posted at the time. 2 questions, why did you think youd have a gas issue on a 5 day trip and are you carrying a portable solar panel for when youre in a shaded area? It really is a lovely area, alpine scenery is amazing. Cheers Cheryl 🙂
Thanks, Cheryl, and great questions! Until this trip, we hadn't used the gas heater much, so we had no idea how long a bottle would last and didn't want to be caught short. It turns out we had plenty. The pre-cooked meals were more to save time after a big day on the slopes. We don't have a portable solar panel but we'd consider getting one 👍

That was a strange issue with your car I get better economy from my ranger when the weather temp is over 20C and my pervious diesel a Pajero 2010 ran better when the weather was cooler. My guess is the way the cars are tuned, only a guess.
Yeah, it had me stumped for a while. We've since determined it's likely a glow plug issue. Stay tuned for next week, the problems continue 😂
