Still watching the race, but I gotta say: this view is fantastic! Super-immersive. Really interesting to see what you are watching, in terms of when you look for apexes, competitors. And it's not motion-sickness inducing like VR can be. This raises the bar for all iRacing streamers. Very well done, Dave.
My son came into the video a few minutes late and couldn't believe that it wasn't a real car driving. It took him 10 seconds to believe me that it was a video game. Looks great. Now I need to start saving more money to get triples (and a graphic card to run them).
The only thing I wish iRacing steamers picked up was tobii eye trackers so we can see what their eyes are looking at. Lookup "COD MW eye tracker" videos it's really cool and it would be great seeing how the drivers actually view the sim

Vr doesn't make me sick
I remember when this car first came to iracing. I never drove something that's constantly on the edge of the limit. Too much gas? You're spinning. Too much brake? You lock your rears and your spinning. To much curb? You you're flipping. Just enough of all the above? You're winning!
Reminds me of NASCAR cars on circuits in a way. Very unforgiving for sure!
Funny enough, I was in the lobby with Dave just before this. This track is quite hard as well. Little runoff, the track is flowing and keeps you on your toes, fast but not enough to go flat out on long turns, narrow so every side by side actions is a butt clenching moment. And the car... a love hate relation for me. It wants to kill me, but gives me such a good feeling when i floor the gas pedal and hear the engine scream as I zoom past someone who didn't get the exit exactly right.
To me this car is the trial by fire for upper classes. No ABS, no TC. Just you, the car and the track. You have to feel every bump, every wheel spin, every lock up. It's beautiful. And it wants to kill me please help

I absolutely love this angle . Definately would like to see more like this . The sense of speed and more cockpit FOV is amazing
that was really cool to watch. It felt really natural to watch and the camera moving with your head felt like I would do driving. HUD or no HUD, I'd watch that PoV again.

Glad to see you went back to triples Dave!! I don’t understand why some people just can’t handle the bezels... they’ve never bother me even in open cockpit cars. Can’t beat the immersion maybe with the exception of vr, but then vr has its draw backs that I can’t seem to get over lol.
Loved this view Dave. Can’t wait to move to triples over my 49” Samsung. Just watching you race without the UI was making me a bit nuts as well, lol.

In crewchief you can use voice activated comms like "who's ahead, what are my tyre pressures, how much fuel left" etc... it really does help when you have no UI

If you're planning on doing more of these, you could setup crew chiefs voice commands. Never tried it myself but could be something to look into?
Also for the no UI "problem" could you not have another little screen (like a cheap tablet) down to your left or right?

Iracing and other apps can have HUD for you. He's ran races before without HUD to show he's really a manly man. Voice commands do work well with crew chief though. I like it a lot
Right now I'm setting up my triples. I just can't wait to see those side mirrors :) Watching this video is so enjoyable.

I only ever run without a HUD. For me, the HUD is a distraction so it helps me keep my eyes on what im doing. Its also kinda fun not knowing what position your in, or how many laps/minutes of the race is left. Great video Dave

I play in VR and much prefer no UI. Glad you showed this because this, to me, is the amount of immersion that keeps me coming back.
Yes Dave, the way you ran this race is the way I always run as it give the closest affect to when I'm in my real car. Your realy good on the corners of this track I tend to over cook the corners an go off track. I like the long course too. Have a good one Dave.

There are plastic screen strips that you can use to take away the bezel. They work about as good as you could hope.
Triple monitor setup is the best way to play sim racing, this and excellent example!!!

This track and car is insane, as a lower end driver this was really really hard. Feels like every brakingzone and cornerexit is just another version of potential ways to die.
Big fun but oh so hard. Glad I'm giving Pcup a go thx to you Dave making it seem easy but for my safetyrating's sake this will be a one race week haha :D.

So you got a little taste of real racing from the driver seat! Now imagine a twitchy gas gauge, your communication with the pits is spotty and you are one step closer. IRL you can usually talk with the pits to get info on your position, who you have to catch, etc. Watching from your view was definitely good, and you don't have to have that bright light on your face lol. With the UI you have more to chat with us about as you have more info while the race is happening.

That is a sweet view Dave, you've got some horse power in the graphics too. Those triples are looking just 👌. Mine are ultra wide monitors, it's really interesting seeing just what I miss from the extra height.
