- The fountain is my personal space to remind me that I'm human.
D.A. is a bit obsessed with bringing religious themes within his films, but personally I don't see these themes as much present but rather interpret them in a rational way, and that's what I love about this film: I have the ability to make logical sense of the story he has created. And I admit that I really like the spiritual sense that it is able to convey, maybe that is also what allows one to feel if you will the “humanity” that I am talking about, but being able to choose is simply art. The Tree of life scene remains the most intense, most artistic and visually breathtaking scene I have ever seen. Put Clint Mansell's OST on it and you get perfection.
