Insanely good video with livetest ourtdoor, great! many thanks for this great effort. I am a DJ and for weddings etc. I use the Everse 12 for outdoor receptions. Later indoors I have a more powerful system on the dancefloor. With Bose and similar speakers with only full-range speakers without separate tweeters, I always miss the clear highs. The Everse 12 sounds neutral in a positive sense and everyone can set it up exactly how it sounds best for them. For me, that's plus 2-3 dB for the treble, which is enough for a beautifully resolved and very detailed sound.

This comparison is spot on in almost every way, and very enjoyable to watch. Great contribution to the (busking) community! That said, I own the Everse 8, 12 and Bose S1 Pro (older one), and would never dream of taking the 12 out for busking. The 8 is totally sufficient for that, and superior to the S1 Pro for people like me who value more true-to-life fullness in the lower region as well as balance throughout the range of frequencies. The S1 Pro sounds full and warm and is a great speaker, but it cannot handle a kickdrum stompbox pedal at all. The frequencies just don‘t exist on it. And Bose has a special sound signature on all of their speakers - a sort of scooped curve with some (comb?) filtering in the mids and trebles to trick our ears into thinking everything is represented, when it indeed is not when you know how your acoustic guitar and vocals sound on several other (more balanced) speakers. You‘re absolutely right the Bose is great in a plug-and-play way, but not for every voice, instrument or taste. You get what you get. The Everse 8 is far superior for busking and just about everything else. Now for the 12: Way too big and heavy for busking, but I bought one anyhow, just to be able to push a bit more air outdoors at wedding receptions and garden parties, sometimes also in combination with the Everse 8 (for battery-powered bliss). Being able to control both using the fantastic EV app is a huge bonus, too. I also own (and love) the EV Evolve 30M, which can also be controlled via the same app, so when mains power is available, I could theoretically run all three speakers easily. :-) In closing, I‘d like to add that the Everse 8 is the tonally better of the two sizes, since it‘s more balanced throughout. The 12 has a different tweeter (!), and it really sounds quite a bit brighter (some might even say „harsher“), and needs to be EQ‘d to remove that on some mics and guitar signals. Your video also showed the top end to be a bit overemphasized in some cases, thus overshadowing the lower mids and bass. When properly EQ‘d the 12 can be great, though, but if I had to choose one, I‘d get the 8 any day. And certainly not the Bose S1 Pro unless I needed to save money or don‘t care about lower bass, and am content to live with „pseudo bass“ that doesn‘t extend low.

I have a question. Can I stereo-link one EVERSE8 and one EVERSE12? I'm currently thinking about buying one each of EVERSE8 and EVERSE12. I don't need two of each at the moment. Parking is too expensive in Tokyo, so I can't use a car, and it's all I can do to carry one amp, two guitars, an effect board, a mini keyboard, etc. However, I would like to use two amps depending on whether the performance is indoors or outdoors and the capacity of the venue. Also, I sometimes have work that allows me to use a car, and in that case I plan to use two amps. I would like to get an appropriate answer and advice, so please let me write my information for reference. I am a professional guitarist in Japan and I mainly play at restaurants in hotels that seat about 200 to 300 people about 10 days a month. At the hotel, I use a battery-powered guitar amp called AER Compact mobile60. The band is made up of three people: a double bass using a bass amp, an acoustic piano without a microphone, and my electric guitar or electric gut guitar. I'm in charge of the melody, and my repertoire is various genres from jazz to hit songs, but I play only instrumentals without singing. Originally, I did it without drums, but it became boring without rhythm, so since last year, I've been playing drum sounds on a midi keyboard and in Logic on my macbook, and using a looper to recreate a band sound with drums. When a flute, vibraphone, and violin play together instead of a bassist, I play drums and bass on a midi keyboard in addition to the guitar, and sometimes I also loop electric piano. I also do live performances where I play funk and smooth jazz with a saxophonist at a fairly high volume. When there is a drummer or keyboard player, I bring a Fender or Marshall tube amp, but from now on, it will probably be just me and the saxophonist for a while. So now I need a high-output speaker that can output drums and bass at the same time as the guitar. I play in restaurants and outdoors where there is no music equipment, and sometimes in places where there is no power. During these activities, I have been receiving more and more invitations to play in other places from musicians I have performed with. In addition to playing the guitar, I feel that there is a possibility for new work because I can play the sound source in the looper pedal and MacBook, and prepare all the PA equipment by myself. People that gives me work can reduce costs by hiring a small number of people. I am also interested in music for places where people dance, and I thought this amp would be perfect for such activities.

You have such a cool job! Happy to meet you!
The EVERSE8 and EVERSE12 both have a XLR "MIX OUT", so you can line out from one EVERSE, to the other EVERSE.

I can`t imagine, that two 8 inch chassis only could make a difference. The Everse 12 with it`s 12 inch should be much louder, so a subwoofer should have a bigger chassis than the top: For the Everse 12 you need surely a 15 inch Subwoofer to improve the sound. But there is no 15" Subwoofer known with battery-power only. So for a really big bass sound a power connection is essential.

As for how Everse 8 sounds compared to Everse 12 outdoors in soundtracks, here's a short TH-cam video. th-cam.com/video/s_VvrPpOf9A/w-d-xo.html You can listen to it yourself. However, listening to recordings and listening live are not the same thing at all. There is also a 50-second volume comparison of 75% from a distance of 30 meters th-cam.com/video/FKer3N1wRek/w-d-xo.html . And here is a 1.5-minute street comparison of the maximum volume of JBL Eon One Compact and Everse 8 th-cam.com/video/OMPkPStMgo4/w-d-xo.html . I am a fan of such equipment, about Everse 8 and other amplifiers, my channel has its own amateur videos and a part-time street musician :) I play rock music, lead guitar with backing tracks and sing. I have now sold two of my JBL Compact. I'm thinking of taking another Everse 8 or Everse 12. Which is better? Have two Everse 8s or one Everse 8 plus one Everse 12? I also tested the maximum volume of Everse 8 in three different places in the city where I live, in the square, stadium and city park with three different genres of music, retreating 80 meters in the square and 150 meters in the stadium and city park. A 7-minute video shot on an inexpensive Redmi smartphone th-cam.com/video/HV2vtPn7UDM/w-d-xo.html And so at home, I compared the power consumption of three Roland Cube Street EX, JBL Eon One Compact and Everse 8 amplifiers for street musicians, connecting them to the Allpowers S200 portable charging station and launching the soundtrack of the Avicii "Levels" remix.th-cam.com/video/LFiHgTTQAXM/w-d-xo.html I apologize for writing so much, and even with links. I wanted to share this with other people like me!

its pointless really mentioning all this and if you know about equipment you obviously know spl matters not peak watts and after all 400 watt of crap is still crap - other things matter like the portability matters for buskers and clarity and other features looper effects streaming built in features etc - this speaker is too big to cart around and not a fair comparrison with the e verse 8 or others ....i use yamaha dsr 12s for big gigs for eg which are far better quality than everything u mentioned and actually cheaper ...but i would not take one busking because 1 speaker is too loud and too heavy ...

i was looking at the si pro plus this the makie soundbox and i have to say this EV 12 actually dissapointed me sound wise more than i was expecting ... its not that portable and its actually not that nice sounding but you did not have a good effects on and you had a shit mic,,the makie has many more gadgets blue tooth and mixer that detaches and you can live stream and record stright to a memory card and control it from detachable mixer that connects to the mic stand .... the s1 sounds clear and is smaller more portible and you can add wireless mic and charging and same for guitar wireless extra for same price and its portable but the makie has live features and i think it sounds better than this speaker ....so for me i was greatly disapointed ....its not really portable to be compared to the other 8 inch speakers and my normal PA in clubs would of course blow it away ...they are yamaha DSR 12s so much more better but yeah these are for the big gigs ... Therefore I think this is over kill for a busker personally and not really that portable and I would go for the makie soundbox cos of the built in looper n mixer and recording or bose S1 pro plus ...both of which are more portable this ev thing is like stuck inbettween being not really powerful enough for big gigs and to much for the busker to carry round...the weather rating is the best feature on the EV ...

I agree, as an owner of the Bose S1 Pro (older version) as well as the Everse 8, the Everse 12 and the Evolve 30M (the latter being mains-powered). The Everse 12 is way too big and heavy for normal busking. I bought it as a way of doing outdoor (e.g. summer wedding reception) gigs needing battery power and the ability to push a bit more air than the Everse 8 can, or even in combination with the Everse 8 for more coverage. That said, my Bose S1 Pro has basically been retired, with my go-to speaker being the Everse 8. The Mackie ShowBox lacks a bit of power and tonal neutrality for my taste, but has a great concept. For more intimate settings, I‘d consider it. By why, since I have the Everse 8? At any rate, for busking and most everything else, the Everse 8 is the best choice for anybody wanting a bit more bass, overall clarity and power than the Bose S1 Pro can offer. The 12, by the way, doesn‘t sound half as good (balanced!) as the 8. The tweeter on the 12 is a bit harsh by comparison, necessitating a lot more EQing to get it to sound warm and natural. But it is possible to tame.

      EVERSE12 is 400W. For 200 people, I think no problem, for 2 x EVERSE 12 speakers.

From the perspective of a TH-cam viewer, with a computer connected to a good sound system, the Bose sounds better. The upper midrange/treble sounds muddy on the Everse and the difference in bass cannot be appreciated on TH-cam. From the perspective of a guy with an acoustic guitar and microphone I'm wondering if the Bose S1 can be beat. Since we cannot be there we are relying on your opinion.

Yes, the Bose performs very well for an acoustic performance. In fact it's one of my favorite portable PAs. For the setting that we tested the Bose in, it was perfect.
However, for a wide open street setting, the EVERSE 12 definitely provides better coverage.
