For the first time on the channel, we are checking out Hardy with this song "Wait In The Truck" featuring Lainey Wilson! This is a much more modern country song but it still packed a punch with incredible storytelling! I love songs that are really thought provoking and stir up those emotions! Such a great tune and I cannot wait to check out more from both of these artists! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #hardy #laineywilson #countrymusic #countrymusicreactions

Dipping my toes into modern country music and this was a pleasant surprise! What should I listen to next from Hardy?!
EVERY southern woman KNOWS exactly it means when they say...Wait In The Truck!! And you DO IT, you stay in the truck, PERIOD!!❤
They actually won a Grammy for this song. I'm not a big fan of new country, but this one hits different. "I just sat on the porch smoking one his cigarettes and waited for the cops to come." That's gotta be one of the hardest lines in ANY song in ANY genre.
Check out him and Stephen Wilson Jr doing Stephen’s I am my father’s son !!!!
Lainey Wilson is an Artist you must dig into! A real Cowgirl, a Louisiana Lady blowing up the country community…master songwriter…Bringing tradition back.
Hardy "The Mockingbird and the Crow"
Lainey Wilson "Heart Like a Truck"
As a survivor of domestic violence, I pray that all victims have a "Hardy" to save them.
He never asked mercy from man's court. He asked for mercy from the Lord. He knew that he would have to answer for the crime, but he asked for forgiveness for the sin.
💯
A Southern Girl Knows What It Means Just Wait InThe Truck. I Praise This Guy For Doing What He Did Now That's A Man
That we do for better or worse
We absolutely do.And it's one of the times we actually let our man boss us around and we do as we are told
The symbolism is great ... he deshackled her, as she walks out her pant legs separated. Hardy's buddy lived this. He got out and they are still together.
Check out Good Horses, Lainey and Miranda Lambert duet.
I get chills when she says "thank you"
What a great song. He was willing to face the consequences of his actions. He set her free.
As you saw she was still driving his truck at the end , Hardy mixes Country music with metal, rap, hard rock into his music.
Love both these artists. Very talented singers.
Hardy and Chris Stapleton both you have to do more reactions! Hardy - "REDNECKER"
"GIVE HEAVEN SOME HELL"
"A ROCK"
"SOBER YOU"
"UNAPOLOGETICALLY COUNTY"
i love Hardy!!!!!❤
Love hardy, Morgan wallen
For true classic country, please check out Gene Watson's "Farewell Party" or "Paper Rosie". That is the kind of music I grew up on.
Have you reacted to The (Dixie) Chicks "Goodbye Earl"? You'll laugh, even though its not really funny.
I haven’t! Thanks for the recommendation!
❤❤Hardy won songwriter of the year, and Lainey won Entertainer of the year
Hardy has written #1 songs for multiple artists
Florida Georgia Line
Morgan Wallen
Blake Shelton
Himself. ...
Amazing lyricist
He also is a cross over artist and does rock music
Check out
- "A Rock"
- "Jack"
- "The Mockingbird and the Crow" (lyric video) also the title track from his album ❤
Hardy is an amazing song writer who has written for some huge names. You need to go down this rabbit hole. The entire mockingbird and crow album is one hit after another.
Great reaction! I love the contrast of her walking out of prison freely and him walking in shackles to his cell! He released her from her prison and now he's in a prison! Gets me every time!🤠
This is the song that made me discover HARDY.
Definitely a great one! Can’t wait to check out more from him for sure! 🔥
Laney is awesome. Check out her new song "Hang Tight Honey "
Turn the other cheek(man)An Eye For An Eye,a Tooth For A Tooth,Limb For A Limb(Bible)
They called him “Yellow” in Coward of the County!!! Yes that’s a great song, because sometimes ya have to fight when you’re a man!!! 😉
Not a fan at all of today’s alleged Country Music outside of a couple of artists. But this song could stand up with generations past.
The video is perfection!
Judge under the set… the judge is a nickname for a cult 45 handgun.
Hardy has written #1 songs for other artists. Had about 11 #1 hits. Hardy does both country and rock. His " Mockingbird and the Crow" is his story about his life going from writing for others to doing his on thing.
Give Heaven Some Hell should be your next Hardy video. You will love it
Agreed! “Give Heaven Some Hell”helped me a bit in coping with the unexpected death of my 20 year old daughter 5 years ago. I go back to the song often for some comfort. 🩵
@@LisaD-1969 I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my brother 6yrs ago and when this song came out my daughter told me to listen to it because it was totally my brother. But I couldn't listen to it until I started watching reactions and saw the video and you're right it does help to see the celebration of the life instead of the mourning of it. You're in my prayers
@@jaymilu6384 I’m so sorry about your brother Jay. I’m glad you find comfort in this song as well, it’s not often I find any comfort in losing my daughter, except through music. Thanks for the prayers~sending them right back at you. 😊
I agree, this is a great tune for modern country indeed. If you haven't reacted to Independence Day by Martina McBride, please so. That one hits home.
I grew up with the classic country. I didn't realize how spoiled I was with the talent at the time. However, there are still a few gems in modern music. Hardy, Lainey Wilson, Home Free, Mo Pitney, and Billy Strings to name a few.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, I was that woman that waited in the truck. A couple of men from our small town saved me walking one evening. My now x husband had beat me just because I set a tea glass down on the wrong side of his chair. After the two men stopped to help me, they ask where he was at. Let us just say they took care of business then took me to the ER. Please anyone that is being abuse reach out to someone. It’s been 15 years for me now I counsel to help survivors to not be victims emotionally nor physically anymore.
So cool that you are able to help those people today and so sorry you had to go through something so tragic! Thank you for having the courage to share and have a blessed day! 🙏🏻
Hardy is a song writing fool!!! His songs always have a great story with them. And Lainey just flat out has a great voice and she has some great songs out there too. Another great reaction.
True story
Great song and reaction. If you watch Yellowstone, Lainey Wilson is the blonde singer, that hooks up with one of the cowboys
Glad you are checking out Hardy. Another one of my favorites is Give Heaven Some Hell. Lainey Wilson is also a great artist - check out Things a Man Ought to Know or Out of Oklahoma.
A lot of women in those situations end up dead. He saved her, and possibly other women who got involved with this abuser. I think he’s a knight in shining armor.🐍🗡️
❤️
As a DV survivor, he's an angel in my book. The ending has a lot of symbolism in it. At the beginning of the song, she's shackled/trapped/not free while Hardy is. The camera's focus at the end shows Hardy not being free....he's shackled and controlled. Her flowing pants legs illustrate freedom of movement which she didn't have at the beginning of the song. In a way, they switched places.
Wow!! Great insight and so sorry you had to go through something like that! Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day! 🙏🏻
@@setonhillstudios Thank you, sir!
Here. We. Go. ;)
My (Texan) grand ma always said "some people need killin".
😂🤣😂
Yes he really is incredible! This hits all of us.
The first time I saw this back when it came out it blew mw away!👍👍🤘🤘
Steven, I’m definitely with you on new country music!! But you will definitely enjoy Mockingbird and Crow from Hardy!! And that video is cool af also!!🔥
Rodney Atkins-Watching You, and Cleaning My Gun
I enjoyed your reaction. Wait in the truck keeps her from seeing/hearing what's about to happen.
Let's GO!!
Hardy is awesome there is so much for you to check out his rock stuff like sold out, mockingbird and the crow, jack, radio song he does a mean cover of blurry his country tunes give heaven some hell,a rock, red and so many more he does a collab with beartoothe the better me which is great you will not be disappointed
Im from Kentucky, University educated and I know what " WAIT IN THE TRUCK" means!!! Great song!!❤
This song was the conversation starter of the year a couple years ago, thanks largely to people with music reaction channels. Thank you for doing this one, Steven. I think you will find it changes you for a long time.
🔥
You should check out (A Rock) by Hardy it's a great song, lots of love from West Virginia ❤️🙂
Thanks so much! 😄
These two won a lot of country awards for this one. Powerful stuff, that makes people start talking about an important subject. I was married to an abuser for 14 years before I got out. God blessed me with a good man & we have been married 32 years & counting. I love your heart & your empathy. ~ Another couple great tunes by Hardy are 'Give heaven some hell'& 'a rock'. This guy thinks differently than most folks & his writing is amazing. Lainey is also big th4e last couple years. 'Watermelon moonshine' & 'Cookin' in grease' are a couple good ones.
Thanks for the suggestions and the kind words! So sorry you had to go through something like that! 🙏🏻
I was just searching for reactions to this tune this morning! Great reaction, as always. I think this is one of those things that you can't predict your actions until you're right up in it.
I agree! Great insight and thanks for hanging out! 😁
I found out last October that my best friend was a victim of DV. My husband had to stop me from going to steal her from her house. She was a lucky one though, a village of friends willing to do whatever she needed to help her get out. We moved her out in May and her divorce should be final any day now 🙌🏻
Love to hear that there is a happy ending to a tragedy and that she has all of you to support her! ❤️
I just found your channel a week ago due to your country reactions and I’m enjoying your country journey. 90’s/early 2000’s country music was the best IMHO. Another great story telling song I think you’d love is Brad Paisley’s “Waitin On A Woman.”
Appreciate the suggestion and thanks for hanging out! Definitely having a blast with the country music journey! 😄
I'd love to see your reaction to 'I Choose Violence' by Jax
Idk if I would've done all that for a stranger. A baseball bat would've done the trick if he hit em before he got to his pow pows. Shatter his hands so he can't do anything with them any more. At the end of the song he said he'd been in for 60 months and she still came to see him. He could've been walking out of there with her after that time. Very cool song, though.
That was the one point I was thinking! A complete stranger that could have been lying! 🤔 I didn’t want to go too deep with it though! 🤣
@@setonhillstudios Nah, you gotta pick your fights, brother.🤣🤣
Check out "save me" by Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson
I have been listening to you for awhile now and really appreciate your reactions and comments. Now, you made a statement about Stevie Vaughn being the best guitarist. I disagree, have you listened to Carlos Santana? There is a master! Give him a listen, thanks for your time.
Doing the right thing is subjective. Unfortunately, it doesn't always align with the law. In a DV case, the law doesn't protect until it's too late. Sometimes a decision needs to be made, like in this video. First of all, I also believe that everything happens for a reason. He was lost, late at night in an area he'd never been to before. He comes across a woman clearly in need of a hero. He completely understood and accepted the consequences; proven by calmly exiting the residence, placing the firearm on the hood of the truck and waiting for the police. This was his right thing and not for me to judge.
Great insight! 😄
Check out Ole 60 - Brother Joe
Oh i see y u said countrys sad ... ok yeah Country is emotional... check out Hardys "sold out" .... idk if have done George Steait but if not watch his "Troubadour"🎉❤
Awe maan now yagot to do Struggle Jennings n Caitlin Curtis
To add to the other comments... he was not a bad man, he was not an evil man... perhaps he grew up in a house of abuse.... as he knew what had happened to her without asking...
he was a man who saw a need, saw an evil and acted on that need and evil. He was a man of faith (evidenced by the court scene bridge (Oh Lord have mercy on me was not asked to the court system...
it was a plea to God) and visibly evidenced by the cross hanging on his rear view mirror...
was his action legal, obviously not based on the trial, was it morally just.... that is up to each individual for you cannot legislate morality... but for every victim of DV, he would be an answered prayer...
and for every man... the story forces the question... "what would I do?"
I recently picked up on another aspect of the acting...you can see the transfer of 'weight' from the weight on her as a DV victim...
to him, as the reality of what he did sank in looking at the body on the floor... she has her weight lifted as she no longer has to live that life...
and the weight of the decision he made settles onto his shoulders, heart and mind.
I wish my mama and my daughters best friend had an angel like this. They were both murdered by husband/boyfriend.
Goodness gracious! So sorry for your loss! Absolutely terrible! 🙏🏻
@@setonhillstudios thank you.
