It's unreal that his voice is completely untouched by time. Those notes are no joke, and he's still a perfect singer. And this internet band is just killing it.
I've been listening to Yes for over 50 years, and of course his voice has changed with the passing years, and I can certainly hear those years in his voice. I'm immensely grateful to be able to listen still to him sing.
Ever hear him talk? That's his natural register. Unlike a lot of guys who sing that high, he's not forcing it up there - that's where it is all the time.
Hallellujah, Yes is reborn and back again! Jon's voice is still perfect and majestic at 80, just as it was in 1972. What a sublime version of this timeless and enduring masterpiece!
How on God’s green Earth can he still sound that good at 80??? That’s truly a gift not only to him but to everyone that loves his music. The Band Geeks are amazing musicians. They really capture every little nuance of Yes’ music. Simply amazing.
Here’s a 67 year old weeping like a baby. I remember the first time I saw Yes touring Tales in 1974. I’ve seen Yes play this countless times since, but damn. This is magical.
Turned 70 five days ago and I’m weeping right along with you. What a beautiful birthday gift. I saw Yes back in the day and again about 15 years ago, sadly, minus Jon. This just brings me right back to my teen years and endless nights listening to Yes ♥️
Jon is doing the same marvellous thing that Steve Hackett with the genesis catalogue. Long live to this genious, and thanks for keeping the flame alive.
Yes I totally agree with you, that time period was like magic, I saw Yes for the very first time in 1978 on there "Tormato" tour they played at McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado and yes it was magical!!!!
Yes,buddy back in the day in the day I saw Gentle giant,Tull,Pink floyd,Audience with Howard Werth,Chicago with Terry kath, great, great for music.even saw Gnidrolog live happy days, best wishes 😊john c.
That is exceptional. Jon's voice at 80 is as great as ever and the Geeks are note perfect. Been a Yes fan since 1970, seen them countless times but I have never heard this iconic song performed so wonderfully well. I'm in jaw-on-the-ground total awe.
The most highly detailed, perfectly performed version of the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my 72 years. I can't thank Jon and the Geeks enough for this. I didn't think I'd ever hear it performed to this level ever again. It's a musical miracle!
I played this on my copy of close to the edge straight after watching the video. Jon's voice is unchanged and still sweet as pure as it was 50 years ago. He is unbelievable!
Well, we have a saying that goes: „it is more blessed than to receive“! Absolutely horrible how things get turned and twisted by people who care for the opposite way 😒!
Jon is the unique voice of this music. No one else comes close. And this version is tremendously moving. I remember as a teenager, lying on the floor in the living room with headphones on while my family watched TV and being transported to another world by this album.
Astounding performance! What a band! And Jon Anderson... The guy is 80 and still sings in the same key as in 1972! How many singers today can do that? Simply brilliant by Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks.
Phenomenal. A testament not only to Jon’s still incredible, ethereal voice (sounding as good today as he did when he started) but also to the talented members of Band of Geeks. Having been really disappointed by recent tours from the official Yes, this is such a revelation - THIS is how Yes Music is meant to sound.
So otherwordly beautiful. Best song ever. It has shaped my own musical journey since I was 15. If this song had been on the disc that was sent out in Voyager 1 in 1977 aliens would already have contacted us in awe :)
Coming quickly to terms of all expression laid Emotions revealed as the ocean maid All complete in the sight of seeds of life with you.... Jon again and again and again, this is timeless and magic
Superb! Love is not a strong enough word. I fell in love with Jon's singing when I was practically a baby; now I'm practically an old man and I still marvel at how high and sweet and how powerful it is. I wouldn't wish anything as crass as monetary success on Jon - it wouldn't mean anything at this point (I'm sure Ritchie and the rest of the Band Geeks (who I also love!) would read this and say "... No - seriously - we'll take the money!..." 🤣). Instead what I'll wish for Jon is for this song/these songs to go out far and wide and to touch as many people as they can. ... and what the hell - if he makes a few bucks - that's great too!
I've seen Jon Anderson performing at various Yes incarnations over the years. He always KILLS!. I remember a particularly terrific show at rhe Philadelphia Spectrum in 1990, Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe. Tony Levin was on bass. My thoughts at the time were: How does Jon do this at his age? It is now THIRTY FOUR YEARS later, and he's still got it! Astounding!
Nobody can sing Yes songs other than Jon Anderson, I first saw him and Yes at the Marquee Club in Wardour Street Soho London UK in 1969 when peter banks was on guitar and Tony Kaye on Keyboards.
Thank you, Jon!! And to the Band Geeks - this revitalization of Yes could not have happened without you. Wonderful, outstanding, and FUN! 😅 Jon looks happy. And ya’ gotta love the Tales shirt.
Jon Anderson stills sounds clear and remarkable. Truly one of the great rock voices of all times. The band plays a excellent version of my favorite yes song, and there are plenty to choose from!
Wow! This sounds absolutely incredible! Whoever mixed and produced this did a fantastic job! I was at this specific concert in the 6th row. It was an incredible night! It was my 3rd time seeing Jon live. Saw him two other times with ARW. Jon's voice is still going strong even at the incredible age of 80! Thank you Jon and The Band Geeks for keeping the YES music alive and in fine form. Can't wait to get my hands on this concert in March!
Jon Anderson is 80 years old. Start with that fact. His pitch is still there. His technical prowess is unchanged. Maybe doesn't have the same force, but, f me, his voice today is 95% the OG studio version. Absolutely incredible.
1. One of Yes's best compositions - Jon Anderson is a gifted lyricist. 2. Vocally, Jon Anderson is a freak. No male vocalist should be able to sing those notes at his age. 3. Jon Anderson is the only truly indispensable member of Yes. All the instrumentalists can and have been replaced with an equally talented musician without altering the essence of Yes. First Todmobile, and now the Band Geeks demonstrate that if you have the instrumental chops and Jon singing, you can play Yessongs brilliantly. It's very pleasing to see Jon being able to keep the flame and spirit of Yes alive for over half a century. I have been following Yes and Jon ever since hearing their cover of Something's Coming on a BBC Top Gear radio show.
Well done! The Band Geeks have the uncanny ability to capture not only the notes, but the feeling, tension, and drama of the music that they play, regardless of artist or genre. After listening to their rendition of Close to the Edge, their collaboration with Jon was absolutely inevitable.
WOW! I'm in tears, truly the best morning treat. The fires down south and the blue sky's here hover for Jon Anderson and this incredible Yes Band. It makes it all better. That voice still pure reflections of the time and now this time around. 6:26 is when I stopped what I was doing and just stared into the music. Thank you Jon for finding Yes out there on the world wide web. There is good out there.
Incredible. saw em live and this is sooo legit. THANK YOU for not doing the AWR crowd noise!!!! I think his voice sounds sooooo good but primarily because the older songs were in this lower range, raspier than later times. Going for the one is super high. and now he is perfectly hitting those early 70s ranges. So impressive. This gave me goose-bumps.
BRAVO!!!! What a voice after all these years. The band sounds fantastic. Saw YES three time in Cleveland and Jon's (solo) in Pittsburgh spanning the 70's and 80's and really enjoyed the performance of this timeless song.
Jon Anderson is incredbile. 80 years old and still singing like this. Inspirastional. The last time I saw him was on the ARW tour - it was great, but Rabin has such a different stlye to Steve Howe that the Yes Classics sound very different. Jon has these musicians who seek to replicate the original style - oh it sounds good. I hope they come to the UK as there isn't anything else like that classic Yes music. Wonderful.
That was magnificent! Jon’s voice is a gift, I felt like I was in a timeless place. What an incredible group of musicians. If Jon and The Geeks tour again, I think I’ll have to follow them around for a few shows. They are all something special!
You hear a bit of age in the voice, but it only enhances the character of what Jon does. He sounds amazing still. He's always been the soul of Yes for me. He brings a gentleness to the music. Lovely performance.
So good. I saw this configuration 2x already and will see anytime they are close. Some excellent musicians with a classic singer. Thanks Jon n the BG's..
I was front row for the Bonner Springs show and it was incredibly moving. I was really there to see the opener, Carl Palmer - but Jon and The Geeks were pure perfection.
I had the original version played at my wedding 48 years ago. We were both big fans and we saw them in concert many times. I had the good fortune to meet Chris Squire in 1985 at NYC's Limelight.
Jon, in my mind, is a unique figure in prog rock and stands alone among singers in this genre. How he continues to do what he does is so very enigmatic. His body of work with YES and as a solo and collaborative artist is both immense and ground-breaking in its innovation. I feel so fortunate that I lived through his musical era as a contemporary.
well said I was fortunate enough to see various iterations dozens of times and I always went wanting to here this. They used to really crank the hell out of Wakeys mellotron
WOW! I just found this. A PRO-SHOT audio/video of Jon & The Band Geeks! Not that I haven't really enjoyed the fan posted clips and concerts but, there is just no substitute for this level of musicianship documented professionally in fantastic video and audio quality. The absolute way to best appreciate the quality of these amazing musicians. To me they are YES, and Yes lives again in full glory. Thank you. Now, I've got to find an entire concert recorded at this wonderful level of fidelity and vision.
It's unreal that his voice is completely untouched by time. Those notes are no joke, and he's still a perfect singer. And this internet band is just killing it.
Yes!
Couldn’t agree more…incredible
And no auto tune !!!
Jon Anderson meeting Band Geeks is the most amazing thing that could have happen to us Yes music lovers. Damn !
Hallellujah, Yes is reborn and back again! Jon's voice is still perfect and majestic at 80, just as it was in 1972. What a sublime version of this timeless and enduring masterpiece!
Jon Anderson will always be the voice of Yes.
Always.
The only one.
No hay otra....Es un Angel
Except for the last 20 years and a little of the 80s and late 70s and for all eternity.
100%
YES, reborn. Jon's voice is timeless. The Band Geeks is so talented. They carry on Jon's vision and have that YES vibe. Phenomenal.
Totally Yes…..spot on
It’s no more Yes than my asshole is Yes.
How on God’s green Earth can he still sound that good at 80??? That’s truly a gift not only to him but to everyone that loves his music. The Band Geeks are amazing musicians. They really capture every little nuance of Yes’ music. Simply amazing.
I checked. He's in the same key as he was 52 years ago!
By using a pre-recorded vocal part. Or by replacing his vocal peformance by another one in the video edit.
@ Hmmm. I’ve seen several videos from his recent tour and he sounds the same. I think he just has a timeless voice that has held up well.
Because he's Jon Anderson!!!
Because he has a true spirit.
Here’s a 67 year old weeping like a baby. I remember the first time I saw Yes touring Tales in 1974. I’ve seen Yes play this countless times since, but damn. This is magical.
66 year old doing the same thing...if this band comes over to England, I am paying a lot of folding money to attend a concert.
Turned 70 five days ago and I’m weeping right along with you. What a beautiful birthday gift. I saw Yes back in the day and again about 15 years ago, sadly, minus Jon. This just brings me right back to my teen years and endless nights listening to Yes ♥️
No compromises or shortcuts here. This IS Gods music. In 2024, it is quite remarkable, and a blessing to us all, witnessing this.
And all of a sudden everything is ok in the world!!!!!!
Amen
I will most certainly say so, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE 🎶🎶🎶
This is the best that happened to YES since the end of YES...Thank you Jon, thank you The Band Geeks.
Jon is doing the same marvellous thing that Steve Hackett with the genesis catalogue. Long live to this genious, and thanks for keeping the flame alive.
I would give anything to return to the 70's !! The best decade of my life. I miss & love all of you.
Yes I totally agree with you, that time period was like magic, I saw Yes for the very first time in 1978 on there "Tormato" tour they played at McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado and yes it was magical!!!!
Me too.
Yes,buddy back in the day in the day I saw Gentle giant,Tull,Pink floyd,Audience with Howard Werth,Chicago with Terry kath, great, great for music.even saw Gnidrolog live happy days, best wishes 😊john c.
You have returned to the 70's... just listen ...
That is exceptional. Jon's voice at 80 is as great as ever and the Geeks are note perfect. Been a Yes fan since 1970, seen them countless times but I have never heard this iconic song performed so wonderfully well. I'm in jaw-on-the-ground total awe.
Me too. The Yes Album and Fragile were purchased by me when released, and then the rest followed.
I can’t believe there are people out there you kid themselves into thinking you can have Yes without Jon Anderson. This is perfection.
Yes is a definite NO without Jon Anderson. F*ck Steve Howe.
Still sounding AMAZING at 80! His voice speaks to generations of music lovers, not just prog-rock fans! Bless you, Jon and the Band Geeks!
Jon is the gift that keeps on giving thank God!
Well, we have a saying that goes: „it is more blessed than to receive“!
Absolutely horrible how things get turned and twisted by people who care for the opposite way 😒!
Beautiful rendition of one of my favourite songs. Jon's voice transports me to better places...always.
Jon is the unique voice of this music. No one else comes close. And this version is tremendously moving. I remember as a teenager, lying on the floor in the living room with headphones on while my family watched TV and being transported to another world by this album.
OMG. So beautifully Yes! Only Jon Anderson can perform Yes music.
Astounding performance! What a band! And Jon Anderson... The guy is 80 and still sings in the same key as in 1972! How many singers today can do that? Simply brilliant by Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks.
Incredible…. I can’t think of another rocker from back in the day that can hit the notes like he can. There might be a few, but not many
Thank you Band Geeks for performing this music at such a high level, and for being the means to deliver that voice to us.
It sounded great! Through the years Jon keeps his voice in the best of health. God bless him
Yes, Jon is the White Dove of Rock music in my mind.
My dad loved this song. Can't wait to see you again in Cleveland. I will enjoy the music in his memory ❤
My Goodness, it's exactly like Yes in 1972!!!! This is absolute perfection! Jon's voice is as heavenly now as it was back then!
Jon has carefully conserved his voice. And the sound engineer has done a superb job. Fantastic performance.
Wow.. This is way better than the current line up of Yes.
some of the finest music humanity has ever produced
I became a fan of YES in 1975 and I still am. What an amazing performance of these musicians, especially by Jon! Thanks.
Seen this dozens of times and this is the closest to the studio recording I have ever heard
Absolutely excellent just proves you can replace the band but never ever the voice best wishes to Jon and the geeks ❤ TRUE 😊
Every word of that is bullshit
One of the best versions of this song I've ever heard. Amazing talent on that stage 👏👏
Phenomenal. A testament not only to Jon’s still incredible, ethereal voice (sounding as good today as he did when he started) but also to the talented members of Band of Geeks. Having been really disappointed by recent tours from the official Yes, this is such a revelation - THIS is how Yes Music is meant to sound.
Absolutely perfect! Jon you make a grown man cry!
There are moments
All the love for Jon &the Band Geeks ... The world only needs love and music. 🙏🕯️❤️✨☀️✨✨✨
So otherwordly beautiful. Best song ever. It has shaped my own musical journey since I was 15. If this song had been on the disc that was sent out in Voyager 1 in 1977 aliens would already have contacted us in awe :)

All complete in the sight of seeds of life with you.... Jon again and again and again, this is timeless and magic
Amazing how little Jon Anderson's beautiful voice has changed over many years. Great to hear such a wonderful performance of this song.
My favorite Yes song, performed like this is gift.
Never heard it this good
Bravo
Jon is the voice of Yes
Not the voice of Yes. And it’s been performed better thousands of times
Wow! Jon’s voice is amazing. Band Geek so polished.
Superb! Love is not a strong enough word.

2024年再聽 Yes樂團 這首經典的搖滾金曲(新現場版本)真是滿滿的回憶!Yes樂團最好聽的金曲,還是百聽不厭!精彩!
I've loved this song for 45 years. Jon still sounds GREAT, and the rest of the band is fantastic, too.
Wow, that was simply awesome. Brought back a TON of memories for me, and Jon sounds as good as ever to me.
Jon Anderson stills sounds clear and remarkable. Truly one of the great rock voices of all times.
The band plays a excellent version of my favorite yes song, and there are plenty to choose from!
Boy, all those extra instruments sure allow for a much more authentic reproduction of the original album track. Great work! Thanks for sharing this!
I thought that too

Jon Anderson musical genius .we love you
It doesn’t get better. Jon is Yes.
Just simply Y E S !!!!😃
Saw this live in Phoenix August 2024 AMAZING Jon Anderson and YES the Band Geeks = Genuine YES 🎉
What a masterful voice! From Yes to his work with Vangelis, there's no one like him.
There is only 1
80 years old now and still singing as well as ever. Those who claim otherwise must be tone deaf.
This is fantastic! Jon's voice is Still Amazing. Very Refreshing throwback.

Jon is free. I think the Band Geeks put him in a new stratosphere. No Yes baggage holding him down.❤
Stunning performance - absolutely perfect. True to the original played with clarity and ‘bite’. They get it.

Much much much love to you dear Jon, spiritual friend of a life, and to yr bandmates! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜💙💚💛🧡❤ A big hug from Italy
Just stumbled on this. 71 now but this has whisked me back to the Rainbow theatre fifty odd years ago. Thank you.
It remains the world's greatest love song.😊
What an unmistakable legend.
Yes without Jon is nothing. I would rather listen to these amazing musicians doing the old yes stuff anyday
This is brilliant. Excellent job, Jon. Excellent job, Geeks.
A great rendition. Jon's unmistakable voice sounds almost like 50 years ago.
More YES than the current touring yes. And the collaborative album between Jon and the Band Geeks is just purely the YES album that Yes never made.
Can't tell you how much I enjoyed this. Just fantastic.
I just could not believe my ears...Jon at his 80th singing so alike Jon did in the very begining of Yes...amazing!!!
I don' believe anyone could correctly tell when he recorded this It could be now. It could be 1975
You hear a bit of age in the voice, but it only enhances the character of what Jon does. He sounds amazing still. He's always been the soul of Yes for me. He brings a gentleness to the music. Lovely performance.
