Shouldn’t you put a breathable cotton cloth over the top instead of a lid? That is going to ferment and blow that glass jar to bits. You can use the lid after removing the apple pieces.
@@lornaprotacio-1833 The fermentation process will produce a lot of gas so a breathable cloth works best. Beside explosion, if the gasses can’t easily escape you risk changing the pH which would stop the process, leading to rotting fruit.
I absolutely loved watching this process! I’ve recently started making my own apple cider vinegar. The satisfaction of turning scraps into something so useful and flavorful is unmatched. From now on, I’ll always be making my own ACV!
You don’t need sunlight, only a clear jar to keep an eye on bubbling process. If you wish to use the mother for future fermentation store without light after 30 days. Hope this helps :)
*I've been trying to include apple cider vinegar into my routine for ages, but the taste just made it so hard. Goli ACV Gummies really were a game changer for me* 🍎
You don’t have to add sugar, if you do add natural sugar, the sugar is used for the bacteria to feed off of, after the 1sr 2 weeks the bacteria should be able to feed off of the natural sugar from the apple. When I make my apple cider vinegar I don’t use core, definitely stay away from any stems or seeds in your batch

Yes.
Can you just cover loosely with the lid instead of using cotton?
