Drove one of these from Holme near Peterborough to Chipping Norton when I was 16 around 1969 towing an articulated trailer full of farm tools etc for sugar beet seed harvest. Great tractor, fast for the time.

Beautiful example, the only thing missing was the toolbox behind the seat mounted to the top of the hydraulics

We used to have one in the beginning of the 70s. At that time tractors speed was 25 km/h, but the Nuffield made 55 km/h pulling 30 tons! In rough field it was a disaster, but for that work we had a Ford.

How could you pull 30 tonnes when the biggest Nuffield was only 65 horsepower??

@@samb9500 Downhill maybe, but it was fast, probably did 45 km/h.

Years ago we bought a new 10/60 . Sadly the gearbox was made out of genuine Bathgate Scottish Cheddar cheese. One hell of an engine but many a time my dad had to crawl home in 1st low (The only gear it would go in!) The dealer's never got it right and we eventually traded it in for a Massey 165 ( Which is still going apparently!)

Good day from Ont Canada Over here it was other way around, engine didn't stand up, They use all 60 hp & head gaskets did not. Thanks

@@donvoll2580 Good day from England. Before we bought the Nuff we traded a Massey 65 in for a DB 990 which my family hated ( Not sure why, I was only little then, it didn't stay long anyway) that got traded in for The Nuffield. Back to Masseys, we never had any experience with The 1080 tractor but apparently that Perkins 4.318 engine had a nasty habit of blowing head gaskets too

The British Government policies of the day have a lot to answer for, Yes Minister/Prime Minister was so true.
