- That my friends was an adventure for sure!! Old frame is removed and now we play level 2: Putting the new frame on lol. To be completely honest once everything is taken apart it really doesn't seem that bad of a procedure to take them apart, its just awkward lol. Thanks for watching!! Cheers

Doing a engine swap on a modern bike in a garage, without the proper stands or a lift! R.E.S.P.E.C.T! Paying so much attention to all the small details is really nice to watch. I know manny professional mechanics who are not working so dedicated.

I recommend getting an Abba skylift stand. It is more versatile than a traditional motorcycle lift. No need to suspend the front end like this. You can just remove almost everything, bare to the frame, using the skylift.
Right, but I like to have bikes moveable
CJ, maybe take a look and research how the Moto GP factory teams swap engines and rebuild bikes SO fast from the frame up. I'm sure they have special mounts and stands, but may give you some insight how to improve efficiency at home, if you do a swap like this on a future product. I picked up a lot of tips by watching factory MX teams do engine swaps in less than an hour!

Maybe slightly easier to remove the lower airbox and throttle bodies when you re-fit the engine in the frame, get the wiring loom out the way too.
Like you removed it, secure the engine on the floor and fit the frame to the engine then add swingarm yokes, forks and wheel.
A little bike ramp also makes life easier!

when installing the motor into the new frame make sure you refer to the manual for the motor mount torque specs. if installed incorrectly you can crack the frame

I always put a mover down like you did and a tire on top then set the motor down and pull the frame and set the new one on. Easy peazy

That machine has been ridden hard and fast,it reminds me of a Fireblade I rebuilt,it wax totaled,sadly the rider and pillian are no more as a result of the accident,that was a frame,sub frame,wheels,tank and all panels,it proved a costly repair,also the engine sustained heavy damage,it sure felt good once finished

when it comes to kawasaki, if you are going to change the air filter, I would advise a Sprint P08F1-85
better performance and cost.

One note if I may, I see you are struggling with keeping the bike in place with those standard bike stands, have you heard about abba stands? Their cheapest ones will do much better and will keep you safer working on the bike. I'm just a happy customer, not an ad.
Having done a frame swap on an 04 ZX10, I can appreciate all the work going into this one.
If I remember correctly, legally speaking, the frame is the motorcycle. So legally you would be swapping the motor and forks and pretty much everything else because the Frame is what has the VIN. The VIN makes it legal, assuming it was not stolen and obtained through legal means.

I don’t know if people probably already told you… M4 is a super high quality exhaust!
Next time you need to swap a frame you should consider loosing the engine bolds first and then seating the engine bottom part on top of a couple of used rear tires. And then you should be able to remove everything easily and swap the frame.

The 'money' is in the content..and honestly for a kind of a 'newbie' as every manufacturer/model has their own issues that need to be unlocked.. the content is very very good.. Use the ceiling joists in my garage.... 2 - 2x4s screwed together w/ eyelets to hold my front end up..your ceiling looks a bit taller than mine. Swinger .. in a pinch you can always flip the rear set foot pegs -upside down.. throw jack stands under.. I use static -solid mounted foot pegs, not spring loaded ones .. then you can throw jackstands under in a pinch w/o flipping foot pegs. Throw the frame on it's side at this point to yank the engine you can do it at any point as long as you protect the frame finish.. ..

You gotta heat the solder on those shrink solder connections more. The solder should totally melt into the wires your bonding for best connection

Im telling you dude. Get a milwalkee cordless screwdriver. It will save you so much time and it will also save your fingers/wrists. Not enough tork to strip your bolts. Just enough to break free.
