- You guys are a life saver!! I would have burned the bike down without that gasket! Thank you seriously! My mind was off in other places and I forgot that gasket! I'm SOOOOOO excited to hear this bike start up once I've got the cooling system going! AHHH and the tune!!!! SHEEEESH. Big thanks to my friends Reece and Benjamin for making Florida so so fun! Just found ur channel today, you got serious stones with taking on this challenge of a rebuild. Mad respect. By the way tell "your friend" that the exhaust is a euro spec 5 exhaust. The baffle can only be removed by drilling out the rivets and then cutting through the small weld after removing the outside protector. Be sure to drill/tap a hole in the baffle and exhaust afterwords (pro-tip do that at the back so you don't see the hole) and use a bolt to make the baffle easy to (dis)mount in the future. Did the same on my z1000sx at the time. Got a H2 atm. Greetings from the Netherlands and keep up the good work.

To remove the db killer you have to unscrew the screws which are at the end or else you just have to pull that out!

@CJ Media the dog link bolt under the rear brake leaver is loose ...also you need to counter lock the handle bar when you torque the top yoke mount nut...

About the dbkiller removal, I think you got two options there: drill a hole so you have acess to the screw that holds the dbkiller so you can take it off or put in on whenever you want (there's a rubber to hide it from Akrapovic aswell) and other option is to take the end part (grey tip), acess to the screw so you can take and then mount it all again. (that's what I did on my z900 with Akrapovic).

Use women’s hairspray to keep the grip in place also on the air tube you might wanna think about putting that screen on it to keep the big bugs from going straight into the airbox✌🏻
You're right about the airbox sidemen thanks! For the grip it requires a special glue adhesive unlike a regular handle bar grip that you do apply hayrsiady and it works very well
@@CJMediaOfficial gotcha and for that baffle on the Akra use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it straight out🤙

That's for the support man, I would like to say, my cbr600rr finished amazingly, found a life long friend. My Ducati 1199 finished amazingly, sold and had a blast. My bmw s1000RR finished amazingly, sold and had so much fun with that bike the power and tech is insane. So I would say I like to set my mind on the positive instead of the stolen CBR1k and the wrecked R1M. Just my two cents

Pick up OEM "O" rings parts like that, valve seals, at McMaster-Carr. My Ducati fuel pump O rings were $29 each...McMaster-Carr I got 10 for $15 ..same same Viton manufacturer. Even the dealers buy low, sell high from McMaster-Carr....Thigh bone connected to the knee bone...your Dad will get that.. . That Carbon is cool.. .meandering ribbon carbon you can get that in 'checkboard' .very difficult to laminate as it wants to come apart unlike the standard weave stuff.. plus they added kevlar reinforcement -WOW quality ..Difficult to vacuum bag that type of carbon as you have to apply masking tape on the border to keep the ribbons from coming apart, getting wonky. Interesting ..you should do a video w/ RPM Carbon on his product line.

I guess there comes a cloth type cover on the bottom surface of the fuel tank which protects the tank from heat of the running parts below it, I've seen that in bikes like H2 and 10R I guess you missed it 😅.

I had a rubber garment with a set screw tightened against baffle unscrew and remove keep with baffle and reinstall rubber garment. Hope this is helpful
